Getting into Sakuranomiya was actually pretty easy. Or rather, we were already inside when I woke up.
Since it’s the capital of the Republic, I wondered if there would normally be a bag check or something, but according to Kuzuha-chan,
“All Satsuki-san had to do was wave from inside the carriage, and that was it,”
She said. Is she really just the manager of a regular Cafe?
“Well, we’re here!”
That Satsuki-san was now in her usual style: carrying a coffin on her back and holding a Japanese parasol.
Naturally, Iris-san was inside the coffin. Apparently, the coffin’s name is Traveling Flower Basket.
Judging by the name, it’s probably an Artifact. I don’t know what its effects are, but there’s no doubt it’s being used as a sunshade, at the very least.
“…This does have a cafe feel, huh?”
The building was right there as soon as we got off the carriage.
It was a Western-style building with the charm of a Western mansion. Since the surrounding area consists mostly of single-story wooden houses, it stands out quite a bit.
It’s quite large, probably because it doubles as a residence. Both in size and design, it stands out from its surroundings. In a way, you could even say it spoils the scenery.
However, Satsuki-san’s shop isn’t the only one like that. From what I’d seen from the carriage so far, there were quite a few brick houses like the ones I’d seen in the Republic.
It really is another world. It doesn’t seem to be entirely Japanese-style.
I guess that’s to be expected. The characters on the sign—even though I understand their meaning—aren’t Japanese either.
Café May. Satsuki-san gently stroked the large sign bearing those words with a look of affection and beckoned me over.
“Satsuki-san. Where should I put Behaki?”
“Please tie him to the sign or something.”
“Got it. Well then, Behaki, see you later.”
“Yeah. Go on, have a good time.”
Leaving Behaki behind, Kuzuha and I followed Satsuki-san through the shop’s door.
A cheerful, clinking doorbell rang, announcing our arrival inside.
“Wow…”
“This… has a real atmosphere.”
Inside lay a well-organized space.
Overall, it was definitely Western-style. The tables and floors had deep hues that preserved the scent of old wood.
On the tables—well-worn but not dilapidated—sat lanterns and matchboxes.
Combined with the decorative fireplace and shelves on the walls, the atmosphere had a certain warmth to it.
Wooden carved birds and dolls sat on the shelves as if playing. A tall, old clock—the sort that might appear in a children’s song—ticked away the time, its pendulum swinging back and forth.
“I’m back!”
Satsuki-san’s cheerful voice didn’t so much echo as it seemed to be absorbed into the shop, seeping into the air.
What came in response wasn’t a voice, but a sound: the patter of footsteps—not loud, but certainly not calm.
From the back of the shop—presumably the living quarters—a woman with black hair and a single strand of white emerged as if she’d burst out.
She was on the tall side, though naturally shorter than Satsuki-san, and slender. In particular—and this might be rude to say—her chest was quite flat.
Her frilled skirt, in subdued colors that matched the chic atmosphere of the place, was likely the staff uniform. Swinging it gently, the woman threw herself into Satsuki-san’s arms.
“Onee-sama, welcome back!”
“Oh, Fumi-chan! Have you been keeping well!?”
“Yes! I’ve been taking it easy and resting!”
Embracing each other affectionately, the two spun around in circles.
It was a dynamic interaction, with Satsuki-san spinning her around while she seemed to revel in it.
“She seems so soft…”
Even though her partner had bumped into her rather forcefully, there seemed to be almost no impact from the collision. That’s what it means when Satsuki-san is equipped with such soft cushioning. Mainly her chest, and her chest, and her chest.
…Amazing, huh.
While I was in the Sakura Bath Garden, I got buried in it a few times.
It was always because Satsuki-san was hugging me, but her chest had such incredible physical capacity that my face would sink completely into it every time.
Since my nose and mouth were blocked, I’d reflexively try to push back—only to find that even the fingers I used to push sank right in.
It felt less like a cushion and more like a swamp. I have a feeling that if you stayed buried in there for too long, most people would lose their minds. In fact, the person being hugged right in front of me right now had a blissful look on her face, and said,
“Ah, it’s been so long since I’ve felt Onee-sama’s boobs…”
“Oh, right. We have a customer here.”
“Huh!?”
Satsuki-san, suddenly remembering my presence, let go of the other person.
With the arms that had been holding back the momentum of being tossed around now gone, the other person hovered in the air briefly before tumbling to the ground. It looked like a reverse-play of a headfirst slide.
I wondered if she was okay, but she got up while rubbing her sore jaw, so she seemed fine. She didn’t hit any tables or chairs—as if she’d aimed to avoid them—so there was no property damage either.
The girl, who had been called Fumi-chan, wiped her teary eyes and looked at me. Her eyes were golden, so she didn’t seem to be a vampire.
“Oh my, what a cute customer… Nice to meet you. I’m Fumitsuki Ichinose.”
“I’m Argento Vampyr.”
“My name is Kuzuha.”
I was a little surprised that she introduced herself as Ichinose. It’s the same name as Satsuki-san and Iris-san, but she isn’t a vampire.
Then again, if you think about it, Satsuki-san and Iris-san probably aren’t sisters or mother and daughter either.
If the name “Ichinose” was given to imply a familial connection, then there’s nothing strange about Fumitsuki introducing herself that way, so I decided not to worry about it.
Her way of speaking was drawn-out, somewhat like Chrome’s, but unlike her, she wasn’t cloying—she gave off a gentle impression.
“What about Shino-kun and Kuro-chan?”
“Those two are off today, so they went out to play. Fumi was waiting here, thinking, ‘I wonder if Onee-sama and Ai-chan will be back soon?’”
“I see. Fumi-chan is such a good girl. For a girl like that, I’ll give her lots of souvenirs!”
Satsuki-san pulls all sorts of things out from between her breasts, but she’s just using the same Blood Box as me. According to her, sticking her hand between her breasts is just “for show.”
Once you know the trick, it’s just a performance, but even so, the fact that her hand gets completely buried in there shows just how enormous they are.
After handing all the souvenirs to Fumitsuki-san, Satsuki-san turned back to me and said,
“Well then, I’m going to go release Iris-chan in the back.”
“Release her?”
“The back of the shop is designed so that sunlight doesn’t reach the living quarters or the kitchen. I’ll prepare lunch after I let Iris-chan out, so please wait a moment.”
Waving her hand lightly, Satsuki-san disappeared into the back of the shop.
An old clock chimed softly, and the sound was swallowed up by the shop. After what felt like just a moment, Fumitsuki-san swept her skirt aside.
Her bow, performed with practiced ease, was dignified yet unpretentious. She greeted us with a gentle smile rather than a beaming one—probably to match the atmosphere of the shop.
“Well then, let me show you to your seats. Welcome to May♪”
