The next morning, Mirabelle and Kirsten walked into the forest as a team.

“I’ve used all my mana on making special arrows for you. If anything happens, I’ll be relying on you…”
“Leave it to me. Since you’re feeling secure about giving these to me…”

The forest was really large. It was hard to tell from above, but when Mirabelle made an electronic mental minimap in her mind, she really felt just how gigantic this forest was.

There were many different complex labyrinthine paths in the dense forest. However, they wouldn’t usually stray far from the safe district.

This elf town had an inner wall and outer wall. The inner wall was a wall that surrounded the entire town, while the outer wall was a larger wall outside the inner wall.

Mirabelle looked at her personal interface. Her MP was almost completely gone.

Yesterday night, she spent 800 MP to create two explosive arrows and two blinding arrows for Kirsten. Mirabelle only had ordinary arrows to use now. She had given all the special arrows to Kirsten.

She had now mostly completed her sidequests – now, as long as she teamed up with Kirsten to kill two more Melgashes, she could complete her sidequest.

As long as Mirabelle was next to Kirsten, the enemies that Kirsten killed would also count as Mirabelle’s kills.

Mirabelle had adamantly insisted on coming along because she wanted to finish her sidequest as quickly as possible – she was in a hurry to get the quest reward of experience points and gold coins.

Mirabelle had a typical quest of killing enemies to exchange for gold coins. That was why she wanted to complete this sidequest no matter what.

Her main quest was to go to Gerbash City, which was the capital of the Bell Theocracy. She didn’t know why she had to go there.

In order to improve the game’s playability, every single character would have a different main quest. That was why Mirabelle had no idea what she needed to do. Even if it was just for the sake of the reward, she needed to go to the Bell Theocracy’s capital.

When mentioning the Bell Theocracy, they were the natural enemy of the vampires. Perhaps somebody there would be able to wash off the blood slave marking on her leg.

As Mirabelle thought about this, she placed her finger on the marking, which was at the inner portion of her thigh.

“Mirabelle, stop daydreaming. Two Melgashes are here. You take the one on the left, while I take the one on the right. Where’s your reply?”
“Oh, I got it…”

Only then did Mirabelle react as she aimed her arrow at the Melgash on the left.

“Kill it in one blow. Otherwise, its howling might attract the S rank magical beast from last time…”
“I know…”

Mirabelle aimed her bow as if she had a sight scope like guns would in FPS games. However, a bow felt quite different from a gun. Arrows were easily affected by wind and gravity, which was why she needed to aim a little upwards so that her arrow could directly hit the Melgash’s weak spot that Kirsten had taught her before.

“Okay, shoot together! Shoot!”

When Mirabelle released the bowstring, the arrow shot forward with incredible speed.

The arrow directly hit the Melgash’s weak spot and knocked it over.

“Okay, great job, Mirabelle…”

Kirsten directly walked over to the Melgashes which had fallen onto the ground in a deep sleep. She then used well-practiced movements to insert a dagger into their heads, which reduced their HP to zero.

When Mirabelle saw the deaths of the two magical beasts, a pleasing ringing sound occurred in her mind.

Ding!

She had completed her sidequest.

Mirabelle used her analysis ability on her own interface. Her quest log was constantly flashing. She used her finger to click the quest – and then she clicked the “complete” button.

Mirabelle wondered what use it was as she watched her gold coins increase by 100. To be honest, the only currency used here was magical beast teeth. Gold coins were completely useless to her here.

At this moment, another voice spoke up in Mirabelle’s mind.

“Congratulations for reaching level 35, which has unlocked the shop…”

Mirabelle hurriedly opened up her interface.

Name: Mirabelle Brillana.
Sex: Female.
Age: 15.
Species: Elf (Blood Slave: if your blood isn’t sucked for one day, you’ll go into withdrawal.)
Level: 35
HP: 3500/3500 (super recovery ability: it is impossible for your HP to reach zero. Your HP regeneration has increased by 50%.)
MP: 2800/2800
Strength: 89
Dexterity: 99
Endurance: 40
Intelligence: 534 (Mirabelle’s special ability: super memory)
Physical attack: 100
Accuracy: 80
Dodge: 20.6%
Critical rate: 1.3%
Abilities: Level Analysis, Data Modification, Blood Scent (suppressed)

The experience rewarded to her was far more than she had expected. Surprisingly, she had risen from level 10 to level 35 just by killing a mere two B rank magical beasts today.

This meant that she absolutely needed to complete her sidequests while she was still in her training period?

That was right, the sidequests were absolutely necessary experience points that would help her reach level 100 while she was still in her training period.

Thus, Mirabelle decided to do every single sidequest.

Quest: kill ten B rank magical beasts, tree demons. 0/10.

Right when Mirabelle saw this quest, she immediately asked Kirsten, “Do you know where the magical beast known as a tree demon can be found?”

“Tree demon? Are you talking about the magical beast that likes to disguise itself as a tree? I don’t know, but I think they appear in the western part of the forest. However, we can’t find them even if they do appear there. Tree demons are the most difficult magical beast to hunt here, and they’re not worth very much.”
“Okay, let’s go hunt tree demons!”
“Eh? For real? Is there any benefit to hunting tree demons?”

Kirsten had an expression of disbelief, but she still followed after Mirabelle. She really understood the girl known as Mirabelle, after all. Mirabelle was the type who would absolutely do something that she had decided upon.

“I’ll explain to you as we walk…”

Kirsten swung her slender arms as she caught up to Mirabelle in front.

“Hey, do you know what the original source of blue maple paper is?”

Kirsten was slightly surprised when she was asked this question. She then opened her pink lips as she shook her head.

“The original source? I don’t know…”
“Do you know what paper is created from, then?”
“Paper? Hmm, I think it’s created from trees. Ah, could it be…”
“That’s right. The tree demons that we’re about to go hunt is the original source from which blue maple paper is created, since tree demons and blue maple paper have the same trait of magic absorption. Tree demons are only weak against fire attribute attacks, so these ordinary arrows won’t be able to defeat an enemy like the tree demons. It’s probably time to use the explosive arrows…”

Kirsten also realized what was going on as she immediately showed an expression of delight.

“You want to use the power of explosive arrows to directly burn the tree demons? Ah, but if you burn the tree demons, then the resources for creating blue maple paper will…”

Although the explosive arrows could easily ignite dry wood, they would also easily cause a major forest fire in the forest.

More importantly, the tree demons might get burned up completely by the flames.

“It’s fine. We can lead the tree demons to the lake before using the explosive arrows. Once the tree demons’ HP reaches zero, we can use the nearby lake water to douse the flames…”
“HP? What’s HP?”
“This… its difficult to explain quickly. At any rate, you can interpret it as something like health value. You and I are both uninjured and really healthy right now. That’s health value.”
“But, how will we be able to know their health values?”
“Who knows? Just listen to my command. I’m the only one who can know their health values…”

Mirabelle gave an ambiguous answer. She seemed like a maniac who was willing to even burn the forest down just to hunt some tree demons, yet Kirsten still trusted her unconditionally.

There were two benefits to this – first, Mirabelle could complete her sidequest and level quickly. Second, tree demons were the source of blue maple paper. If Mirabelle could obtain this and meet a level 100 tree demon, then the item drop would reach a quality that could be strengthened.

As previously mentioned, items in this world had five different levels: normal, elite, rare, epic, and mythic.

Thus, Mirabelle absolutely needed to kill ten tree demons.

“Is this that large lake?”

Mirabelle glanced at her map, which displayed the western forest that Kirsten had previously mentioned.

“Are we going to hunt tree demons here?”
“Ah, prepare the explosive arrows. I will be responsible for luring them here with my arrows…”
“Lure them here? How are you going to do that?”

Kirsten asked Mirabelle with great curiosity.

“It’s really quite easy. For camouflaged magical beasts, as long as you damage them, they’ll appear in their true forms.”
“But, how are you going to find the camouflaged magical beasts?”
“A camouflaged magical beast will show its true form when someone gets close enough to it.”
“I see, I understand now. Go lure them here now, and I’ll prepare to attack them.”
“Yes, thank you…”

Mirabelle turned and ran off after saying that. Actually, Mirabelle had a far more convenient method – her [Analysis] ability.

She could directly use her [Analysis] ability to inspect the levels and locations of every single living creature in the entire forest.

Mirabelle’s eyes began to glow blue as she looked all around her while she prepared her bow and arrows. She smiled after she finished planning out a path in her mind.

“Okay, let’s do it this way…”

Mirabelle began to run after she made a path that included ten tree demons.

Whenever she found a tree demon hidden by the roadside, she would immediately shoot an arrow at it, causing the tree demon to wake up from its deep slumber.

The tree demons were incredibly angry to be shot at. They showed their tremendous fangs and vicious faces.

‘Yeah, yeah, you plant-type man-eaters, hurry and follow me.’

With Mirabelle’s current stamina, having a race with trees was like child’s play. Not only that, but she also had a mental minimap in her mind.

The tree demons had lost less than 5 HP each from her arrows.

“As expected, they won’t be defeated without flames. They can only be completely destroyed by using fire.”

This was a setting that Mirabelle had made in the game. Certain special magical beasts could only be defeated by the element that they were weak to.

Mirabelle lured five tree demons, which was the upper limit of what an explosive arrow could handle. If she lured six or more, then the explosive arrow might miss a tree demon.
