I slipped into the girls' school uniform while in my transformed clone state.
Compared to Rinka and the others’ summer uniforms, this one came with a black blazer trimmed in white.
“Should I button the blazer or leave it open1? Hmm… I think Chang Kai looks better in it! Pfft.”
Trying to crack a joke, but a sudden gust of cold wind sent a shiver down my spine.
“The school emblem’s stitched above the knee-high socks… but if the skirt’s not rolled up, no one’ll see it, right?”
Since I wasn’t wearing safety shorts underneath, I figured I’d be modest and keep the skirt below the knee…
Just kidding!
Come on, I’m a JK now! A short skirt is basically part of the brand!
I rolled the hem up ten centimeters above the knee, grabbed two black clips, and pinned back the hair framing my face. Using my phone’s front camera as a mirror, I admired the look. Wow—adding hair clips really made me look cuter!
My bangs had always been pretty long—so I used clips, headbands, even hair ties to keep them out of the way when gaming.
Now I’d become a bright, energetic high school girl! Snap snap! Selfies were endless! Snap snap! Suddenly I could understand why Xiao Lei was so obsessed with photos.
The face in the mirror was exactly the same as the one on my real body, lying asleep on the bed. The only difference was this pair of boobs granted by Notebook-sama—probably so people wouldn’t mix me up with my original self.
Huge boobs were great and all… but having them on my own body? That‘s just a hassle!
Yup, boobs are like cats. People who don’t have them are obsessed, and people who do have them constantly want to throttle the little gremlins.
(And no, I’m not talking about my cute little sister Tangerine! Ehe~)
“Youthful! Sexy! Adorable! This is the power of the JK! Kirari~☆(<ゝω・)”
…
Crap. Why am I getting so hyped up over this?
Forget shining—I'm straight-up sparkling with stupidity. Probably getting too affected by the Notebook’s mental adjustment feature. Gotta stay calm. Deep breaths.
Too late.
“What the heck are you doing, Commander?”
The curtains rustled, and there was Xiao Lei, peeking through my window like she’d seen a ghost.
The atmosphere turned awkward fast. Being caught mid-cringe by Xiao Lei? I wanted to push her off the second floor to cover it up. Pity it wouldn’t kill her.
“Wait, what’s with that murderous aura all of a sudden?!”
She climbed in. When she put a foot up on my desk, her skirt flipped up and flashed black lace panties.
Whoa. Bold choice. Is that a ‘battle-mode’ pair?
“You got back quick. Didn’t you go to the Tianping Commercial District?”
“Tianping’s too expensive. No way senior would splurge there.”
“So where’d you go instead?”
As she kicked off her shoes onto the balcony, Xiao Lei said, “Wanda Plaza. We hit up Uniqlo. One-stop shop, decent prices.”
Even as girls, those two still shopped like guys—know what you need, grab it, check out. No wandering. Personally, I find Uniqlo’s clothes kind of meh—especially for girls.
“You both really are efficient.”
Xiao Lei slumped her shoulders and sighed dramatically. “I wanted to browse more, but after a few stores, senior started trembling.”
“Trembling? Why?”
“She really wanted to buy stuff, but poverty forced her to hold back. The internal conflict was intense. It shook her entire being.”
Oh. I totally get that feeling.
To sum it up: broke.
I still remember shopping with Rinka and Fei… seeing the price tags on women’s clothes hit me like a truck. And yet I still came home with bags of them. I may be broke, but hey—Rinka’s funding my lifestyle, after all!
…Wow. I really sound like a kept man.
“Anyway, what’s with that getup?”
“Rinka gave it to me. Said I should do a ‘field trip’ at the girls' school.”
“Huh? You’re actually going?”
“Not really. Just trying it on for now.” I spun in place, posing proudly. “Well? Looks good, right?”
“Looks amazing! You could rock anything, Commander.”
She gave my real body a shove to make room, then plopped down cross-legged on my bed.
“Ugh, not fair. You were already prettier than me, and now you’ve got a killer figure too? What kind of cheat code is this?”
I wasn’t sure how to respond to that mix of envy and admiration.
“Aren’t you still taller than me, though?”
“What girl wants to be tall?!”
Is it because she’s switched genders the most? This girl’s got serious identity drift.
“Hey, stop using my real body as a pillow!”
Ignoring my protest, Xiao Lei laid back on the bed and rested her head on my body’s stomach—which had gotten a bit soft lately. Probably all the snacks.
She murmured, “This whole situation’s kinda surreal… Doesn’t it feel like we’re just two regular high school girls gossiping on a lazy afternoon?”
She had a point—we were both in girls’ uniforms, after all.
“Do you want to study at the girls' campus?”
“Huh? You want me to tag along for your ‘field trip’?”
“Not what I meant. Remember I said once your fracture healed, I’d let you use the bookmark? Have you thought about how you’d handle your new identity? Are you gonna tell your parents?”
Time to start thinking about this seriously.
“Probably. My mom’s gonna be over the moon. She’s always nagged me about how I should’ve been born a girl. Now she gets her wish. Raise a son for 18 years, get a daughter for free—total profit, right?”
“Is gaining an extra idiot really a profit?”
“I’m not an idiot! That title belongs to Zhao Zhao! Stupid Commander!”
She kicked her legs in protest, mashing her head into my body’s belly like it was dough.
Even though my soul wasn’t inside, watching her manhandle my real body made me twitchy. I yanked her up and spun her into the computer chair while I moved to the bed, shielding my body from her roughhousing.
“Alright, time to switch back.”
“Eh? You kicking me out?”
“Don’t you have homework?”
At that, her eyes darted toward my desk.
“I’m not letting you copy mine,” I warned, smirking. “Didn’t you just say you’re not an idiot?”
Grumbling, she grabbed her bag with the boys' uniform inside and headed for the bathroom. I wiped both our names off the notebook.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back in my original body.
Zhao Zhao had already changed clothes and was frantically copying my homework.
I sighed. “Dumbass, don’t copy it word for word. That baldy will totally catch you.”
He gave me a thumbs-up, full of confidence.
“Relax, I thought of that! I’m tweaking every answer just a bit. No one’ll notice!”
“That just means every answer will be wrong! This is math homework, not poetry!”
Seriously—how did this guy even get into high school?
After that, I hobbled after him with my crutch and kicked him out of my house.
Tonight, Qianxia didn’t come over. It felt a little lonely.
…
Wednesday morning. Heavy rain, just like a typhoon dumped its entire load on us. If last Sunday’s rain washed away summer heat, today’s brought the bite of early autumn.
To keep the cast on my right leg dry, I wrapped it in layers of trash bags and wore a rain poncho. Zhao Zhao, pushing my wheelchair, held an umbrella in one hand.
Thanks to our over-preparation, I arrived at school completely dry—though Zhao Zhao was soaked to his undies. Dude looked like a drowned rat.
“Hang in there. You can take a hot shower at the secret base during lunch.”
“All my clothes are sticking to me. It’s hell. I’m totally gonna catch a cold.”
“Don’t worry. Isn’t there a saying? Idiots don’t catch colds.”
“What? Don’t underestimate me! I’ll definitely catch a cold!”
What are you even competing over?!
And just like that… he did catch a cold.
He was sneezing through his shower at lunch, but weirdly proud.
“See? Told you I wasn’t an idiot!”
“No. What you proved is that the saying’s wrong—by confirming you’re an idiot with scientific rigor.”
Zhao Zhao is a certified idiot. That’s the first law of the universe.
