April 10th, 7 AM. S.K.Y. freshened himself and leaned on the balcony, taking in the incredible view of the beach. He ruffled his gold-dyed hair with one hand while shaking his cup with the other, releasing a sweet aroma from the red liquid within.
Taking a sip, he enjoyed its exquisite taste. “As expected, the premium soda is captivating with every sip.” The distant sounds of ocean waves hitting the shore added to the ambiance. The weather was perfect, with the ocean and sky blending into a magnificent vista.
This luxury was courtesy of Taurus’ hotel. Owing to their recent friendship, S.K.Y. was enjoying free residency, including the premium soda he was currently savoring. “The life of a wealthy person is simply minimalistic and boring,” he sighed, emptying his cup.
In societal terms, S.K.Y. was certainly upper class. Yet, next to the wealthy heir, Taurus Zhang, he felt like a mere peasant. “Someday, I’ll be that rich as well,” he thought, returning to his room. He placed the cup on the table and looked at himself in the mirror. “Speaking of which, my mental focus these days is unbelievably good.”
Before reconnecting with Taurus, S.K.Y. lived a life of nightly parties and physical pleasures, which had taken a toll on his health, particularly his kidneys. His complexion had been poor, a sign of his depleted state.
But now, he looked energetic and rejuvenated, almost as if he were eighteen again. “What is actually going on?” he pondered, slightly confused. “Maybe it’s because of the game. I’ve been in the game over ten hours a day these days. I have no time to party now.”
With a shake of his head, he dismissed further thought and lay down on the bed, entering the game. A new day had begun.
In Jade City’s commoner’s district, Fiat paced near Aurora’s room, filled with worry and anxiety. Several hours had passed since the initial visit, with only occasional moans escaping the room. He was filled with concern and unease. “What kind of medical treatment takes several hours?” he wondered. And the moans – what were they about?
He was deeply troubled. ‘Could it be that Princess did something inappropriate with my sister? No, no, that’s impossible. Princess is kind and magnanimous. She would never do such a thing!’ Fiat tried to reassure himself, shaking his head to clear the disturbing thoughts as he continued pacing.
Inside the room, a pleasant fragrance filled the air. A semi-transparent green ball of light, the size of a basketball, hovered in front of the bed. It contained a cloud of gray energy. Yaeger stood there, looking exhausted, with sweat on her forehead and a trembling hand holding the needle. She was visibly fatigued.
“It’s done,” she whispered, a faint smile on her lips. She felt a sense of satisfaction. Gazing down, she saw a pale figure sleeping peacefully. The breathing was soft and rhythmic. “I exerted so much energy to cure you. You better pay me back in the future,” she muttered to herself, her eyes fixed on the green ball of light.
The operation had been tough. To remove the anomalous energies, Yaeger had used hundreds of green needles, pricking Aurora’s body with precision. Bit by bit, she extracted the energy, sealing it in the prepared green ball of light. Once the anomalous energy was inside, it began devouring all other energy within.
At this juncture, Yaeger took a passive role, simply observing the anomalous energy as it consumed food, occasionally replenishing it with some life energy. She soon realized that once satiated, the anomalous energies would become dormant, resembling a state of hibernation.
This observation led her to a potential solution: if she could extract all the anomalous energies from the body, the disease could naturally be cured. However, the process was not as straightforward as she had anticipated.
First, the energies were incredibly persistent, clinging stubbornly to Aurora’s body despite Yaeger’s efforts to remove them. Second, the continuous release of life energy was immensely draining for her.
It was a prolonged and challenging battle, but after several hours of strenuous effort, Yaeger emerged victorious. “Being a doctor is really exhausting. I would rather fight a hundred Magic Beasts at the same level all at once than do this again,” she said weakly. Physical exertion was one thing, but depleting both her physical and mental strength was overwhelming.
“Now, how should I deal with these anomalous energies?” Yaeger wondered aloud after a short rest, eyeing the motionless green ball of light. “I might as well just flush it down the drain,” she initially thought, but then considered the waste. “This anomalous energy seems worth studying. I might get something useful out of it,” she pondered.
However, before she could conclude her thoughts, the green ball of light underwent a drastic change. It twisted violently, releasing a burst of green light and a massive wave of purification energy that reactivated the dormant anomalous energy.
Yaeger then witnessed a mesmerizing scene. The two energies transformed into countless microorganisms, engaging in a fierce battle as they devoured each other. Initially, the green energy held the upper hand, but soon the gray energy gained momentum and started suppressing the green.
“Interesting. Is this a war of feeding on each other?” Yaeger mused calmly, stretching out her hand to gently tap the ball of light, injecting it with all her might with life energy. This reinforcement turned the tide, empowering the green energy to decisively crush and consume the gray energy.
In less than a minute, the battle was over. The gray energy was completely devoured, leaving only a cloud of pure green energy. “How amazing,” Yaeger exclaimed, captivated by the cloud of pure energy in the ball of light, which reminded her of a legendary war. “I suppose this is my trophy?” she mused, tapping her hand, causing the green ball of light to dissipate and release the energy cloud.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yaeger touched the cloud of energy with her finger. The room was instantly bathed in green light, and an incredibly concentrated amount of energy surged into her body from her fingertip. At that exact moment, the system issued a notification sound: “Ding!”
