With the Magic Beasts reduced to a mere blood mist, the formidable sword formation began to crumble. The ground swiftly reverted to its original state, and the [God Slaying Sword] that once loomed overhead vanished into thin air.

“Huff… I was nearly drained dry.” Yaeger’s legs gave out, causing her to collapse onto the ground. She reached into her belongings and hastily retrieved several High-Grade Mana recovery potions, downing them in quick succession. Her exhaustion weighed heavily upon her, as if she could sleep for an entire century.

As her Mana gradually replenished, her mental clarity slowly returned. However, her complexion remained ghostly pale, reminiscent of one recovering from a severe illness. When she checked her status through her interface, her eyes widened in surprise.

“My fatigue has reached sixty… This is troublesome,” she murmured to herself. The utilization of [God Slayer] and [Celestial Carnage Sword Formation] had significantly accelerated her fatigue rate. With a further accumulation of forty points, the Sister System would forcefully disconnect her from the game.

“I need to restrain myself from showing off too much,” Yaeger reminded herself, biting her lip. She had no desire to attract unwanted attention before reaching the hidden area and dispelling Alicia’s curse.

“Princess!” Yunuen and the others finally regained their senses and rushed over to Yaeger’s side. She exhaled softly and rose to her feet, preparing to address them. However, before she could utter a word, a chilling gaze caught her attention, sending a shiver down her spine.

In a swift motion, Yaeger glanced upwards and caught a glimpse of a fleeting icy-blue light.

“Heh, I’ve caught your little tail,” Yaeger’s voice echoed.
“Princess, whose little tail did you catch?” Yunuen inquired, curiosity evident in her tone.
“Oh, it’s just a random remark,” Yaeger dismissed with a shake of her head.
“I see. Are you alright? Your face is so pale,” Yunuen expressed her concern.
“Your aura seems unstable. That last ability must have taken a toll on you. Do you feel any discomfort? If it’s convenient, I could examine you,” Alicia offered softly.
“Drink more hot water…” Little Fairy whispered, offering her own advice.

Yaeger couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the suggestion. ‘Drink hot water? Seriously?’

“It’s fine, I just need some rest,” Yaeger reassured them.

Before another word could be exchanged, a sudden flash of white light enveloped them, accompanied by a subtle emanation of spatial energy.

Buzz!

In an instant, Yaeger and her companions disappeared from sight.

“Hmph, hmph!” At that moment, a petite figure radiating a gentle blue glow materialized, clenching her fists in frustration.

She was both annoyed and troubled. The source of her annoyance was none other than that breathtakingly beautiful individual. As long as the latter remained alive, she would constantly face unimaginable dangers.

If she were still in her prime, she could effortlessly utilize the resources at her disposal and crush that terrifying person with a mere flick of her finger. Alas, even the finest baker could not bake bread without flour.

Letting out a sigh, the petite figure vanished once again.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Yaeger, Yunuen, and the rest materialized on a splendid jade platform. The platform had four radiant doors, each glowing in a different color – red, blue, green, and purple.

“It seems the entrance to the maze is different this time,” whispered Yunuen, scanning their surroundings.

“It has a more refined feel to it,” added Little Fairy.

“I think I recognize this platform. It appears to lead to a higher-grade maze,” Alicia said, squinting her eyes as she tried to recall.

Her clan’s records on the maze were extensive and not easily memorized.

“A high-level area? Interesting. Let’s take a rest here for twenty minutes before we proceed,” Yaeger suggested.

Everyone nodded in agreement. Alicia retrieved a beautiful picnic cloth from her spatial ring and spread it on the ground, preparing to make tea.

Yaeger took a seat and began inspecting her equipment. As she examined her gear, she felt a pang of disappointment. Most of her equipment had suffered damage and lost a significant amount of durability. Repairing them would require a considerable sum of money…

‘Wait a minute, didn’t she have a slave?’ Yaeger suddenly remembered Behn, the worker at the equipment store. Sister System had mentioned that she could exploit him as she pleased.

“Hehe, I’ll save some money again,” she chuckled to herself.

While saving money was one thing, she knew that Behn’s craftsmanship was top-notch in the Jade Empire. Having him repair her equipment would not only save her money but also alleviate her concerns.

Shifting her gaze to her sword, [Sunscorch], Yaeger let out another deep sigh. Its durability had dropped to thirty, losing a staggering sixty-nine points! In an ordinary battle, even if she fought for days on end, her weapon wouldn’t sustain such damage.

“[Advanced Sword Skill] is truly magnificent. However, the toll it takes on my equipment is equally severe,” Yaeger mused.

After all, it followed the law of equivalent exchange. Something so powerful couldn’t come without downsides. To fully unleash the might of [Advanced Sword Skill], it required both strength from Yaeger and high-quality equipment. Both conditions were indispensable.

“I must admit, [God Slayer] is truly powerful,” Yaeger remarked as she gazed at her skill panel.

According to its description, a single strike with [God Slayer] could vanquish gods and demons alike. It was a weapon of mass destruction. However, in Yaeger’s current state, she could only use it to slay Jade-ranked Magic Beasts. The disparity was immense.

This issue stemmed from her own lack of strength. If Yaeger were a cheap instant beef noodle packet, then [God Slayer] would be an extravagant bowl of premium beef noodles worth hundreds of yuan. The difference between the two was incomparable.

Given her current strength and equipment, Yaeger could only unleash a fraction of [God Slayer]’s true power. The same applied to the [Ancient Celestial Sword Formation]. In fact, everything related to the [Advanced Sword Skill] required not only sufficient strength but also appropriate equipment to unleash its full potential.

“What’s the deal with this [Divine Sword Sect]? Is the [Advanced Sword Skill] really just a beginner-level technique for their members?” Yaeger pondered aloud, her confusion growing.

“Actually, the [Divine Sword Sect] is one of the eight ancient celestial sects. The [Advanced Sword Skill] serves as an introductory sword technique to ascend to godhood,” the system’s voice suddenly chimed in.

“Sister System, you finally stopped ignoring me!” Yaeger exclaimed with excitement.

Lately, the system had been growing distant and ignoring her more often than not.

After waiting for several seconds, the system remained silent.

“Sob, meanie,” Yaeger grumbled in dissatisfaction, feeling disappointed by the lack of response.

Little Fairy blinked in confusion. ‘Why is Princess talking to herself? And is she actually referring to the system as her sister?’

She glanced at Yunuen, who seemed unfazed, as if accustomed to such behavior. Alicia, busy with making tea, appeared to have not noticed Yaeger’s one-sided conversation from the beginning.

“The introductory sword technique to become a god? That sounds so cool!” Yaeger pondered, her mind filled with curiosity. “But why is such a powerful sword technique only ranked as Epic? And there are three books to it.”

Currently, Yaeger possessed one of the books, while Rakshasa held another. The whereabouts of the third book remained unknown.

As everyone chatted and enjoyed their tea, the twenty-minute break flew by in an instant.

“Let’s go,” Yaeger declared, snapping her fingers and swiftly selecting a relatively safe door within three seconds. The door emitted a green glow, indicating their chosen path.
