Project GB is an official initiative by Re:Library.

Once in class, I told Bibi that I’d understood what Argernon had tried to tell me that day.

“Argernon had something he wanted to tell you, and you, too, opened your heart to me. I believe that’s why you were able to understand him!” She said, her eyes darting and her cheeks blushing for some reason.
“Oh! Also, the other day! I heard that he’d cause you quite a bit of trouble! You don’t need to worry about it! I gave him a good scolding!”

(He caused me trouble? What?)

“A-Also! I usually don’t lend him out like that, s-so I believed that I had to do it!”

(What? Lending him? What does she mean, do it herself?)

Beako, her face bright red, spoke with a meek voice that was unlike her at all.

(What is going on?)

“I-I’m not the type of person to disclose my b-best friend’s hobbies, so you don’t need to worry!”

(What? Hobbies?)

Beako turned over with a bright red face and looked at my chest with her eyes tilted upward. She was mainly looking at the tips.

(No?!)

Once I realized what she was talking about, I immediately clutched my chest.

Argernon was Bibi’s familiar. Their hearts were connected. If they channeled together, Bibi could perceive what Argernon saw and felt. In other words…

My whole face went tomato red, and I couldn’t help but clutch my chest even tighter.

(D-D-D-Does that mean she overheard?!)

“N-N-N-No… Y-You have it all wrong!!!”

I pleaded to Bibi, clutching my chest and turning red all the way to my neck. I could feel the heat rising from my chest upward! Bibi replied, “It’s okay!”—she was also blushing, though she wouldn’t look directly at me. As I flailed about in panic, I sensed someone approaching from behind, then gently wrapped their arms around me.

“Su, are you playing some kind of prank?”

The whisper came with a warm breath against my ear.

“Uwhaa!”

I couldn’t help but let out a slight moan.

(M-Mia?! What are you doing?!)

Across the room, Corin stared blankly, saying, “Keep it civil, people!”

(You don’t understand, Corin! She’s not keeping it civil! If there weren’t people here, then who knows what would’ve happened?!)

Dana, too, was laughing as she watched this unfold. Bibi, in turn, moved back and shook her head in defeat.

“Nooooo!!!”

My embarrassing voice once again echoed through the classroom.

Everyone at school was as energetic as always. Miss Daisy showed no signs of fatigue and was actively helping the villagers clean the school.
On the way home, we stopped by the temple, where Mr. Henry was busily leading treatment efforts for the injured. The pained expression she’d shown me the previous day was no longer visible on his face.

As I left the temple, I spotted Ryder emerging from somewhere in the back. The wrinkles between his brows had vanished, and he looked completely at peace. For some reason, that sight filled me with happiness.

When I returned home, as always, Gilbert was the first to greet me with a warm welcome. There was Miss Elrose after I entered the house. The familiar, comforting smiles of Mama Sonia and Papa Howard also awaited me.

I didn’t know where the god of this world was, but in the village of Amukham and the Cloud family, everything was just right this day.

As short as it may have been, I hope that it has helped you kill some time and maybe even brought you some joy.

Following now, there will be 4 interlude chapters, after which Act 2 will begin. I would love it if you could continue following me in the future as well.

As an appendix, I will include the power level guidelines for the Village Guard, as well as the Threat Level for Demonic Beasts at the end of Act 1.

Village Guard Power Levels

The above Power Levels are with the magic armor included. Howard and all other Team Leaders in the Village Guard are ranked at Grade A and higher. Ryder is ranked Grade AA. With his customized magic armor included, he exceeds 170 Power Level.

Amukham publicly discloses the existence of grades up to Grade AAA. The existence of the Exceed Class is kept a secret from the public. People who are ranked at Grade S and higher are publicly announced as Grade AAA.

Outside of the Village Guard, the existence of the Exceed Class is only known to select members of the royal family and some organizations that support Amukham. Currently, the Exceed Class only has three people in the S grade.

The Power Level of ordinary people is considered to be 0. Children who are yet to become members of the guard and novices are generally considered to have a Power Level of 0.6.
