Good morning! It’s cloudy again today.
There’s nothing special planned for me today. What should I do? Well, let’s head to the Guild for now.
After entering the Guild, adventurers were gathered and chatting as usual. But the crowd had doubled since last time… probably the effect of that title.
Today’s outfit was praised too, and everyone kept saying how cute I was. That makes me happy.
Now then, let’s check with Agit if there are any good requests. A D-Rank one should be perfect.
“Looking for a request, huh… just a second… oh, found one. This is from Shuupu Village, about a D-Rank monster. A large poisonous moth called Temaega has been sighted near the village. It’s a subjugation request. By carriage it would take about half a day to reach the village from here. The next public carriage isn’t scheduled for two more days, so you’ll probably need to rent your own. Still, the reward for this job is pretty good considering the inconvenience. Want to take it?”
Uwah… I don’t need a carriage anyway. I’ll just fly, so it’s no problem.
“There won’t be any problem. I’ll take the request and head out!”
“Oh? All right. I didn’t think anyone would take it because of the hassle, but this really helps.”
I wondered what would happen if no one went to the village. Let’s ask and find out.
“What would you do if no one went to the village?”
“Hmm? Well, only a few might go. The villagers would have to do their best on their own. It would be pretty serious though.”
“I see… well, for now, could you hand me a map of the village?”
The maps weren’t free—30 bells each—but I didn’t mind. I bought one and enchanted it so it could show my current location.
“Thanks for the purchase.”
“Thank you very much.”
Ah, I forgot to mention something! While making my new clothes, I also crafted a new pair of shoes. They look like sporty sneakers, perfect for running, and are enchanted the same way as my previous pair—only this time, I added a special effect that doubles my Speed while equipped.
Now then, time to head to the village.
I got there in just three or four minutes.
First, let’s talk to the gatekeeper and get some information.
“Excuse me…”
“Eh? Wait, you—where did ya come from? Why are you here? You’re not from this village.”
“That’s right. I came here because of a request!”
“Huh? But I only sent that request this morning. How did this happen?”
Explaining would be a pain, so let’s just blame it on my skills.
“I have skills that allowed me to get here so fast…”
“I see, so you’re that kind of adventurer. Anyway, can I see your Guild Card?”
“Here it is!”
The man stared at my card, then asked with a puzzled expression:
“Eh? Wha—what is this…? You, are you really that strong?”
“Fufufu. Be glad, because I’ll show you one of my skills.”
I demonstrated Extreme Thunder Magic.
“Wha—what the!? A D-Rank Adventurer, and not even of age yet! I understand… let me call the mayor right away!”
The gate guard dashed into the village and soon returned with an elderly man. I also showed my Guild Card to him.
“Fumu. You’re certainly a strong one. I’ll be asking you for help. Please come with me; I’ll guide you there.”
As the old man led me forward, a single enormous moth appeared ahead. To be honest, I was quite disgusted. Cold sweat trickled down my back.
“Well then, may I ask you to take care of it?”
“Yes…”
A Level 5 Thunder Ball was enough to obliterate the monster in just one or two shots. Right now, it was blasted apart splendidly.
“All done.”
“Seems so. No need to worry about dismantling or proof. I saw it myself, so I’ll report directly to the Guild.”
“Thank you very much. Then I’ll be heading back now.”
“Oh, sorry for troubling you. Thanks.”
And then I shot up into the sky…
(Came like the wind, left like the wind—that girl.)

And then I returned to the Guild.
Time to get paid! I walked up to Agit.
“What’s wrong, Alim? Did you forget something or want to cancel the request?”
“No, nothing like that. I already completed the request and would like the reward, please.”
Agit looked at me strangely.
“Oh really? It’s already over? You’re not trying to lie, are you?”
“Mou~ it’s true, you know. Hasn’t the village mayor contacted you yet?”
“Eh? Contact… no, nothing yet—oh wait, something just came in. Wait a moment, okay?”
Agit disappeared from the reception desk and came back after a short while.
“It was really true…”
“Fufuun! That’s the kind of skill I have!”
“I see… then here’s your reward of 15,000 bells. Sorry for doubting you.”
“Oh no, don’t worry about it. I’ll be on my way then.”
“Aye, see you again.”
“Yes!”
And so I left the Guild.
(Alim… no matter how I look at it, you’re not on the level of D Rank at all, are you…?)

Well then, what else should I do for today?
Is there still anything I’d like to make? Hmm, what would be good… A map with navigation… illustrations of local monsters… I wonder if I can do all this together.
Let’s go to a bookstore and buy a world map and a monster guide for each region. I’ve been thinking about this for a while.
…The shelves were so tall. While it would be nice to find maps and monster books in the kingdom’s bookstore, the monster dictionary was especially expensive because paper prices were high. I ended up buying six books in total.
All together it cost 325,600 bells—about 3,256,000 yen if converted to Japanese currency.
Although expensive, it was necessary for me, so I bought them.
Now then, the first thing to do is build a certain machine—a device that can take the contents of books and turn them into data. It’ll be fairly large, but I have to start somewhere. Fortunately the books have proper monster illustrations, so I can copy them like a camera and display them later.
All right… I’m also trying to make the device into something smartphone-like. It will display a map, time, and nearby monsters, and it will also show photos of monsters taken in the area.
It became much more elaborate than expected.
I also made the machine load my skills and Item Master. It will record all Item Master creations and their information. Adding this to the smartphone’s functions gave me appraisal, encyclopedic knowledge, calculation abilities, and even pattern building.
Pattern building lets me automatically create recipes by inputting images of items I want to make or am currently making. It also performs accurate calculations based on sight and includes a calendar function.1
(By the way, in this world, a year has 16 months, each month has 28 days, and a day has 24 hours with a 7-day week.)
To be honest, just how much is this worth? The appraisal came back as Legend Grade… Earth’s machinery… if I brought it here, would it all be Legend Grade too? Anyway, it exists here now.
Sooner or later, maybe I’ll build something to calculate status and skill combinations.
I’d started around 10 o’clock, and now it was midnight. I kept working until I was tired.
………Then, good night.
