“Anyway, today I’m going to craft this thing I was commissioned for!”
I had reached a good stopping point for this week’s work, so I’d quickly make it. Though thinking about it another way, recreating something based on ancient literature1 also qualified as important work.
“Do you know what it’s made of?” Mika asked.
“Not everything, only that Phantom Ore and Orichalcum are some of the materials. It’s different from the Hero’s Sword where all I needed was a hilt and Orichalcum. That’s why I’ll start by recreating it with Dark Matter.”
“I see… I hope it goes well!”
“Thanks”
I retreated into the magic room that served as my smithy. The last time I was here was when I upgraded everyone’s weapons to divine grade.
I immediately created the Vajra with Dark Matter and then appraised it. It looked like the weapon was focused on lightning magic. But the only one specializing in that kind of magic I knew other than me was Shuu’s acquaintance, Thor.
…Huh? Is this thing made for me…? I’m getting a bad feeling, but I’m sure it’s just coincidence. Exactly, that must be it.
Other than serving as a strong catalyst for lighting magic, the weapon didn’t seem different from Gungnir and the Hero’s Sword. Though it also said that its name was “Indra2“.
While the Hero’s Sword was nameless, the Sage’s Spear, Gungnir, had a proper name for a legendary weapon. I got the feeling that “Indra” wasn’t a weapon name. Well, that was what it said, nothing to be done about it.
I wondered about that before, but why is it so easy to recreate stuff like the Hero’s Sword with Dark Matter? Isn’t it weird that it’s so simple to create something on the upper end of legend grade? Well, worrying about that won’t do me any good. I was even able to create copies of a movie that hadn’t aired on Earth yet.
“Now…”
This was a request from the ruler of a country, so I couldn’t just let my skills do everything and call it a day. I had to craft it properly by hand3. I took out the required materials from the pouch I used for storage. Then, I made it from scratch.
That reminds me, I never put some kind of brand on the weapons I made.
Up to this point, I only made legend grade weapons for Gilmars, Parasuna, and the S- and SS-Rank adventurers the former introduced to me.
Should I have used some kind of brand when I did that? At this point, it’s probably too late. In that case, I’ll continue without one.

Phew, I’m done.
It turned out exactly the same as the prototype made with Dark Matter.
Tee-hee…! Only thing left is to deliver it.
“Mika~, I’ll be going out for a bit.”
“Huh? You’re going by yourself this time?”
“You can tag along if you want, but I wasn’t planning to stay there for long.”
“That’s fine! I’ll join you in case something happens!”
“Alright.”
Thus, Mika and I went to Kanata and asked him to send us to the Bufura Kingdom again.
Incidentally, it looked like he was currently studying medical sciences. Before that, it had been finances and law. He was probably also planning to go over statecraft and psychology.
Just what is he going to become in the future?
It also affected Sakura, who was tagging along with him, in a bad way. When she muttered “Kanata keeps looking at pictures of naked girls that aren’t me. Though I understand he has to, since it’s to study medicine,” in complaint, Mika shot back an “In that case, you’ll have to go further with him, Sakura,” which the younger sister rejected with teary eyes and a bright red face. It was rather funny to watch.
“Alright, we’re back!”
“He sent us to another backstreet alley. Let’s get out of here quickly.”
We didn’t want to get accosted by thugs like last time, so Mika and I quickly left the alley and made our way to the castle. At the gates, we showed our adventurer cards. The guards let us in happily once they learned who we were.
“Oh, Alim! It is good to see you,” King Rama exclaimed. “Does that mean you finished the Vajra?”
“It does, Your Majesty! Here it is.”
I handed the weapon, which was wrapped in a piece of cloth, to the king.
“So, this is it… Our country’s…”
Given his personality, I expected him to show a grin when my hand touched his in the process, but that never happened. Was he too focused on the weapon itself?
“Wonderful. Thank you so much, Alim… We can see that it is as well-crafted as one would expect from you, but just to make sure, We shall have it appraised.”
After saying that, the king called Hanuman and carefully handed the weapon to him. The guard took it, gave a bow, and then left the room.
“Anyway, thanks to your earlier assistance, Alim, the investigation has progressed quite a bit in those few days.”
“That’s good to hear!”
“Indeed, we now know who Our great-grandfather gave the privilege of being the Guide. Are you interested?”
I had assisted them up to this point, so I couldn’t deny being somewhat curious.
“Could you tell us about it, Your Majesty?”
“Of course, We shall do so… Follow Us.”
Footnotes:
- The original is 過去の分権 (“ancient decentralization of authority”). Since 分権 is a homophone of 文献 (“literature”), I assume that’s an error.
- The original is インドラ (indora). Indra is a deity from Hinduism.
- If the result is 100% the same, I don’t really see the meaning. I guess it’s similar to natural and artificial vanilla, where both are identical, but people still want the natural.
