All the food had been served. This might be coming from me, but I thought it turned out quite tasty. The majority of guests had lost all their energy.

When I looked at the clock, it was the planned time. Time to start the celebration.

Chris stood up.

“Did you enjoy the lunch prepared by our nation’s hero, Alim Nariwei? Now the time has come for the bride and groom and all the guests to move on to the wedding celebration.”

Almost everyone clapped. At the celebration, there would be various performances and the wedding cake I had made would be cut. Oh, I made it in a way so it wouldn’t spoil, so that wasn’t the main reason to move to that part on time.

Then, at 3 pm, the bride and groom would start driving around the city in a carriage. In Japan, people in high places and celebrities would drive around in a car with tin cans tied to it When they did that, the two of them would apparently make their true identities known to everyone. In that regard, this wedding had a deeper meaning than just two people getting married.

“We’ll start by cutting the cake.”

With those words, the cake I had made was wheeled out. There were Ohs and Ahs from various places in the crowd. I had paid a lot of attention to its appearance (and its taste obviously, too).

“The one who both designed and made the cake is Alim Nariwei.”
“”Oh~~!””

Chris kept bringing up my name, even though I never asked him to do that. Though it was possible the king asked him for it, to spread information about the creations I – the nation’s hero – made.

“Then, will the Bride and Groom cut the cake?”

Uruto and Parasuna received a large knife specifically to cut cakes from a church sister (a real one). It was a little funny to see both of them support the knife together, which should weight barely anything from their point of view. Well, it was part of the ceremony.

The blade hit the cake’s peak. Now, they only had to press it down.
Right, I should take a picture. That way, there’ll be something to remember it by.

The two of them stared at the wedding cake, as if to bore holes into it. You had to properly judge where exactly to cut it. After a minute or two, they looked at each other, nodded, and then put force into the knife. The cake was split in two.

“Now, for the first bite.”

The so-called first bite would be shared between the bride and groom before the cake was served to the other guests.

Using a fork that had been provided along with the cake knife, Parasuna scooped up a bite-sized portion close to where the initial cut had been made. She brought it to the mouth of her husband. The cake disappeared in Uruto’s mouth.

Just as she had done for him, he then also brough a bite of cake to her mouth, feeding it to her.

How heartwarming. Feeding each other is nice. It might look different from an outside perspective, but it has a different meaning if it is with someone you love. I would know.

“…This cake will later be served to everyone together with Dionysus Wine. Next, we shall move on to the performances.”

Many guests looked pleased at the prospect of wine and cake being served. Most of them were on the level of royals, so you’d expect them to take offense at eating someone else’s leftovers, but… maybe it was because I made it.

In any case, I was curious about the performances. I knew that mine was the last, excluding the trip around the city, but I had no idea what others had been planned.

“We shall be first,” King Rama announced, as he stood up together with his guard Hanuman and several retainers.

Among them were likely also top-rank adventurers from his country. The group from the Bufura Kingdom climbed onto a separate stage than the one the bride and groom were sitting on.

“Now, for what We have planned; it shall be an ardent dance, for which Our country is known. We are thinking of having everyone in this group, including Us, partake.”

I had never heard of these famous dances But it looked like our group of people from Earth were the only ones who hadn’t.

The king’s announcement of participating himself had the venue quite excited.

Although two of them were SSS-Rankers1, who were so much stronger than the former commoners they had started out as, which showed just how high the status of SSS-Rankers was in this world. Mephilad’s king was also a former SSS-Ranker and the two from Yggdrasil were likely also entrusted with some of the country’s affairs.

“Start the music!”

At those words, two of King Rama’s followers brought out instruments; one used a wind instrument, and the other drums. Bodies started to move. Everyone on the stage, other than the musicians, started to dance nimbly.

It wasn’t anything like a flamenco2, ballet, or a dance fitting a pop song. This was… right, it reminded me of a dance I’d seen in an Indian movie I watched on a streaming site.
Exactly, an Indian dance.

It turned out to be quite the spectacle and I ended up enjoying it a lot.

Footnotes:

  1. The original just talks about two SSS-Rankers, it’s unclear who they are. I assume he means they’re part of King Rama’s group, but it’s rather ambivalent.
  2. The original is フラメンゴ (flamengo). I assume this is a typo and the author meant flamenco, a Spanish art genre including dances.
