“That was fun, Shuu!”

It was 6 pm. As we left the third department store, Rir was more clinging to my arm than holding my hand. I also had quite a bit of fun, despite the fact the date had been so haphazard.

“Let’s got on a date again in this world next week, alright?” she proposed.
“Sure thing.”

In any case, going on a date in this world made me realize, once more, just how much Rir stood out.

It might have been because foreign looking girls weren’t than common here. Though her face appeared closer to someone with mixed ancestry. It might also have been that she stood out since she was way too pretty, like Mika. People at school seemed to often say things like that.

Maybe it was a bit of both. Either way, there certainly seemed to be many people jealous of me. I genuinely took pride in that fact.

As we left the department store and started walking, I ended up looking at Rir’s face.
I seriously gotta look where I’m goin’, or I’ll end up bein’ sent to yet another world like a certain someone who was lookin’ at his smartphone while walkin’.

“Woof? Is there something on my face, Shuu?”
“Oh, nah… I was just thinkin’ how cute you look.”

Maybe the end of our date getting closer made me restless, for me to utter such a cringe-inducing phrase. The light skin on Rir’s face turned slightly pink.

“Woof… thank you. Recently, many people told me that I’m ‘cute’ and ‘beautiful’, but in the end, hearing you say it makes me the happiest!” she replied with a beaming smile.

I got the impulse to hug her right here and now, but we were in public, so I held back.

“…It looks like we still have time,” she mused.

Rir had probably seen a clock on one of the tall buildings around us. We were about to head home, since we just had dinner, but my parents had told us that we could stay out until 10 pm.

“That’s right. For now, we’ll take the train back home, but before we go to our house, there’s a few more places to visit.”
“Woof, understood. Where are we going?”
“Well, to make it short, Ayumu’s and Mika’s houses. I think you should know where they are… And then one more stop.”

If something happened on Earth, it was possible that phone calls wouldn’t be possible. Ayumu was one thing, but Kanata was reliable, so it would be better if she knew where they lived.

Besides, I really had another place I wanted to stop at. If anything, that one had a higher priority. In a manner, it was the person (?) who brought Rir and me together, and-

“Rir, what’s wrong?”

I noticed from her hand that she had stopped walking.

“Rir?”

When I looked at her eyes, she seemed to be gazing at something right beside us. She kept staring there, as if it was something outrageous.

“What’s goin’ on with-”

I also looked into the direction where she kept gazing. I went rigid for a moment. It was a building with an unusual design and a sign saying “Hotel” in English.

“Shuu… this is one of these special hotels, right?” Rir mumbled.
“I guess so.”

It certainly wasn’t one where people mainly came to stay the night.

“It’s for couples and such, isn’t it?”
“Yep, it is.”

You probably needed a lot of courage to got to such a hotel on your own. Still, many people hesitated to enter, even if they had a partner.

“…Shuu, I am, in fact, still a virgin in this world.”

If she wasn’t, I’d have been awfully shaken… The thought of her having made experiences with someone other than me would likely make me jealous.

In any case, I understood what she was going for. I absolutely did, but…

“Rir, we’re under 18.”
“Woof, that’s true.”
“You’re banned from hotels like these if you ain’t 18, y’know? I mean, strictly speaking, even normal hotels will stop you if you’re under 18 and try to go through the proper procedures… Even more, I’m the son of a police officer.”

She could probably infer the rest.
Her eyes snapped open with a start, and then she looked dejected. Even though she currently shouldn’t have wolf ears and a tail… in what was likely a hallucination, I could see them droop.

“I-I’m sorry. I heard so many stories about high schoolers going to hotels like this one…”
“Well… you could say there’s tons of loopholes when it comes to minors. But we gotta stick to the rules.”

Rir was a bit of a celebrity… and if anyone found out about this, she’d be in deep trouble. Plus, if this story reached Pop’s workplace, it’d cause him no ends of issues.

“You’re right… I’m really sorry.”
“It’s fine, you didn’t know. We can do it later, Rir… in Anazumu.”

After all, over there… we ain’t got to worry ’bout anythin’. Besides, I ain’t a guy uninterested in a woman’s body and havin’ sex, so I’m not gonna turn down her offer.

When she asked me, I even told her ’bout my own fetishes… which I obviously won’t tell anyone else. Well, both her and Ayumu know ’em.

“Awoo! It’s a promise! Let’s go to Ali¹ and Mika’s homes!”
“Right, let’s.”

We walked away.

1. While this might be an error, it’s just as possible that she simply picked up Ayumu’s nickname from school.
