“What do you think? Does it go with what you picked?”

Rir had come to my room and made her clothes flutter. They went well together with her blueish-white hair. Obviously, she was also wearing her red hood.

“Yep. L-Looks cute.”
“Woof, I’m not that cute. You, on the other hand, look handsome, Shuu.”

Dunno… hard not to call her that.

The clothes I was wearing today were among the somewhat better-looking ones, or rather, they were the best set of outdoor clothes I owned on Earth.

Rir and I were going on a date.
I gotta make sure she has lots of fun.

“I-I see. Thanks.”
“Yeah! Shall we go, then?”

We left the house. This felt different from going to school together. More special.
Oh, right.

“Rir… your hand.”
“…Sure!”

Rir was the one who usually offered her hand, but today I did. Hers was a delicate as always. It felt as if I would break it if put just a little force into my grip.

In any case, we walked with linked hands.

“Where did you say we are going today?”
“For a start, I thought ’bout showin’ you around this area on Earth.”
“That makes sense.”

If forced to give a reason, I’d say it was for her to get to know the city better. However, the real reason was that I couldn’t come up with good ideas for our date. I could only think of walking around the city.

…I can’t go on like this, I gotta properly plan the next date. Seriously.

“So, where are we going?”
“Well, we’ll take a train like always and go to the city center. Since a lot of stuff is there.”
“Alright.”

Still holding hands, we reached the station, boarded a train, and then rode it to the city center. It might have seemed like a shallow idea on first glance… but it could end up actually working well. The station itself was connected to department stores, and it was full of food and clothing stores.

“All this foot traffic is exhausting but also exhilarating.”
“You’re right. For the time bein’, should we go to a department store?”
“Let’s do that.”

We entered the underground entrance of a suitable store. To be honest, the atmosphere felt intense. I was pretty sure I had been here before, but being on a date made it feel different.

It seemed as if Rir had noticed something and was pointing at what looked to be a bulletin board.

“Shuu! It says there’s an exhibition of india-ink paintings on the fifth floor today!”

What!? Wouldn’t such an exhibition work as a date spot? I’m in luck.

“Should we go there?”
“Woof!”

“It’s incredible what they could express with just black. I guess I ‘ll get the True Artistry skill and try painting india-ink pictures, too.

About 30 minutes later, we had seen all the pictures… what to do now? Moreover, on a closer look, we’d been the only couple there.

…Why didn’t I even consider that looking at india-ink pictures might not work out for a date, even though we ain’t got a shared interest in Japanese-style-paintings? Rir herself had fun, but… if I were with someone else… nah, I won’t think ’bout any girls other than her. In the end, it worked out.

“What’s wrong, Shuu? You look so serious.” She was peering at my face.
“Nah, it’s nothin’… Should we check out the stores on other floors?”
“Let’s do that. I don’t feel like buying anything, but just looking at things should be fun,” she agreed with a smile.

Wouldn’t that be boring for her? She, who never complained about anything, appeared like an angel to me. Was it the fact that she was on a date with me, which made it fun for her? The thought made me feel bashful.

In any case, we descended to the third floor. From here up to and including the fourth floor, clothing stores of various brands and manufacturers were lined up.
When it comes to clothes, I just quickly pick stuff in a color I like that would probably suit me in the nearest large clothing store… I ain’t used to places like this.

“Hm… oh, there’s a bargain sale on swimsuits.”

Rir, who seemed to have found something, went towards a wagon in the store. Just as she had said, there were heaps of swimsuits for girls which had gone out of season. To be honest, as a man, I had a hard time looking at it.

“This one is cute… Should I try it on?” Rir asked as she picked up a light blue bikini from within the cart.

It’s surprisin’ she’d want to wear somethin’ like this… hang on, she used that suggestive underwear in Anazumu before. N-Not good. If I remember that stuff when I ain’t at home, I always get embarrassed. I gotta think of somethin’ else…

“Shuu, I thought about it, but I won’t try it on after all… Shuu?” Rir was peering at my face again.

Damn. I ain’t got no clue what she’s been talkin’ about… For now, it’s probably best if she doesn’t try it on.

“Eh, r-right. I think that’d be for the best.”
“Woof, I guess so. Let’s go to the next store, then.”

She took my hand again. I squeezed it back.

Come to think of it, if I had encouraged her to try it on, she’d have shown me how she looks wearin’ it, wouldn’t she… gah, I gotta stop thinkin’ ’bout that stuff.
