“You know why I called you here, don’t you?”
It was midnight. I had summoned Rir and my younger sister Sakura to the mansion’s kitchen.
The boys were fast asleep.
“I know. Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day…!”
“Woof, I know about it, too. It is a custom from Earth… from Japan.”
The two of them were already wearing aprons and looked highly motivated.
This holiday didn’t exist on Anazumu. But from our perspective, it was a super important event allowing us to use chocolate to express our true feelings to the ones dear to us. So, we’d put our all into making those sweets.
“What about cooking ingredients, Big Sis?”
“They’re over there.”
I had prepared all the things necessary to make chocolate with the Dark Matter Creation skill Ayumu had given me. Somehow, I had faint memories of having a hard time making heart-shaped cookies with just cocoa powder last year, but this must’ve happened in a dream. I mean, I was still on Earth back then.
“Skills sure are convenient.”
“Looks like we don’t have to worry how we get everything we need for chocolate.”
“Heh-heh-heh, that’s not all. I also created this “Chocolatier’s Guide”, secret recipes… and much more… Let’s work hard and make lots of chocolate filled with our love!”
“”Yeah!!””

“””We’re done!”””
We each had finished the chocolate filled with tons of love for our respective partners. I carefully took it out of the refrigerator specialized on chilling things (one minute on the outside was one hour in there) one by one.
“So, you went with normal heart-shaped chocolate, Sakura?” I asked my sister.
“Yeah. Simple is the best, after all… that’s what I thought. Uhm… writing the text on it felt embarrassing, though.
Sakura had made large, normal pieces made of milk chocolate. On them “To Kanata. I care for you!” could be read in Sakura’s handwriting. If she gave those to the lovestruck boy, his head might melt like chocolate in the sun.
“It’s out of genuine sentiment, right? Make sure you give it your all when you hand them to him.”
“Yeah, I’ll do my best, Big Sis!”
Until last year, Sakura had given him chocolate while telling him that it was “because they are friends”, just like I had with Ayumu. Though as her older sister, I obviously knew that she had originally planned to say that it was because she genuinely had feelings for him.
“Yours are surprisingly normal, Rir, aren’t they?”
Similar to my sister, Rir had made heart shaped pieces of chocolate with various nuts mixed in, with “Wholeheartedly to Shuu, my beloved” written on them.
“Hm? I guess… Well, the ones with nuts in it are for me to give him normally. It was the tastiest I could make in the time I had. And they’re filled with my love for Shuu!”
“Really… hm?”
I realized there was still something in the fridge… or rather, no matter how you looked at it…
“Rir… is this…?”
“It’s a 1/12th scale chocolate sculpture of Shuu. I made it as a joke.”
“I-I see.”
“Yeah. I always wanted to try making something like this.”
It was insanely elaborate. It truly looked as if Shuu had been shrunk to one 12th of his size and then dunked in chocolate.
“Well, I also made some to eat normally. Did you also make some normal chocolate, Mika, Sakura?”
“Yeah.”
“I did, too… So, what kind of chocolate will you be handing out, Big Sis?”
Sakura peeked at the chocolate I was planning to give to Ayumu. It was also the normal type. I had written “Ayumu, I love you” on it.
“In the end, all the chocolate we’ll give away is normal, isn’t it?”
“That’s the best way to convey your love.”
“Yes, yes.”
We right away wrapped the chocolate we planned to give away in cute paper.
With this, our preparations are complete! Now, we only have to give them to our sweethearts!

“W-We have something to give you.”
“Can we?”
“Woof.”
It was about an hour after we had lunch. We had aimed at 2:14 pm to talk to Ayumu and the others.
“Could… could that be…”
“Indeed. Here you go!” I handed my chocolate to Ayumu.
He looked incredibly happy. It seemed like part of my heart really had reached him.
“Wow… thank you!”
“They’re obviously out of genuine sentiment! Oh, don’t worry, I’ll also have some for you when it’s the 14th of February on Earth.”
After gazing at the chocolate made from my feelings, he undid the wrapping paper and read what I had written on the contents.
“I… I love you too, Mika. I’ll absolutely make it up to you.”
“Yeah! Eh-heh-heh… mh!”
The kiss he gave me tasted just as sweet as chocolate.
___
“Do you like it?” Rir asked.
“I do, I’m super happy!” Shuu replied. “That’s the first time I get chocolate out of genuine sentiment!”
“Heh-heh, I see, I see. I’m glad that it made you happy. By the way, what do you think about this?”
“Huh… I-Is that me!?”
___
“…I-It’s chocolate with genuine sentiment. I went all our making it, you know?” Sakura explained.
“Wow, I love it. Thank you so much, Sakura,” Kanata replied.
“Y-Yeah. If you’re happy, then I’m happy, too.”
“I’ll do my best to make it up to you on White Day. Anyway, thank you, truly! I also care for you… love you.”
“Wah… uhm… y-yeah…”

There were a bunch of author’s comments, pretty much boiling down to that it’s been a year since the first valentine’s side story and that they hope their writing has improved during that year.
Also, here’s another illustration from the author.
