“You’re all done eating, right? As a matter of fact, I put some medicine in everyone’s Miso soup, so your heads work better… Oh, I didn’t mean it like that, alright? It just makes you wake up faster. At any rate, as I said earlier, I was planning to talk about the more crucial topics now.”
Kanata and Shuu nodded.
“…Good then first about our-”
When I was about to tell them how Mika and I got to this point, I realized Rir was present. This wouldn’t work.
“Ah, before that. I’m sorry, Rir, could you wait outside for a while? We will be talking about things that would cause a fair amount of issues, if people from this world were to learn them… We’ll tell you as much as we can later.”
“Woof, u-understood. In that case.”
She put her hands together and followed my request to leave the room.
Alright, this should work better.
“…So, we can talk freely now1.”
“Okay.”
They all fell silent, likely since I was about to speak about rather important things.
“As I said… I’ll start by telling you how we came to this world, alright? To begin with-”

One hour later.
Mika and I had taken turns to tell them how we ended up in this world. Although it was only in broad strokes. Obviously, we didn’t tell them how frequently we kissed. And we also still hadn’t talked about the Jizou teleporter.
“Let’s see, I think I mostly understand now why you act like a girl in this world… and why you want me to treat you like my older sister.”
“At any rate, it was a huge coincidence for you two to end up in this world… I mean, was that really a coincidence? It feels closer to a miracle.”
Kanata and Sakura gave their thoughts. Furthermore, Shuu kept grinning at us.
What’s so funny?”
“Nothing? Get married already, seriously.”
“Yep, we’ll do that once we’re a few years older. Right, Mika?”
“S-Sure.”
Huh, even though Mika is always so energetic, did narrating the chain of events that led us here make her embarrassed?
Her blushing face looked adorable.
“Still… that’s excellent.”
“Yes, it is.”
Shuu and Kanata commented, shooting Mika a glance and then looked at each other.
Did something happen with Mika while I was gone? Come to think of it, she did tell me that she was utterly heartbroken.
I didn’t know the details, but from their perspective, seeing her in a relationship with me in this world was probably something to be happy about.
…I should keep cherishing her.
“So, what will you say when you have to explain things to natives like Rir from this world?” Shuu asked me, as he turned back to me.
“I’m planning to tell them everything about me on the other side, but with me as a girl,” I immediately replied. “If they ask questions at key points, I’ll modify my replies according to the circumstances.”
“Well, that might be for the best.”
Take Karua for example. There was no way I could tell her I was male before, not after sleeping in the same bed and bathing together.
“That’s about it, now you know about our story, right? Could you tell us what happened to you?”
“Alright.”
“Gotcha.”
Shuu first told us how he ended up in this world.

Another hour later.
We had inquired about the story of those three.
Of Rir and Shuu, we mainly learned how they met and why they started their relationship. In the end, Shuu, couldn’t help being who he was. Ever since a long time ago, he’d been a human-shaped lump of righteousness. As a matter of fact, back in Japan, there had been quite a few girls with a crush on him because of that, but… well, that didn’t matter right now.
For Kanata and Sakura, I got the impression that they spend their time together, while he protected her. This was just like it had been in the past. Nevertheless, it was a good thing that they had started dating for real.
“Kanata… thank you! Please keep taking good care of Sakura!”
Mika was so deeply moved by Kanata’s efforts to restore Sakura’s eyesight, that she got up from her chair and shook his hand while spouting that line. She did care a lot about her younger sister, after all.
“Yep, that’s what I was planning.”
“Sakura, if it’s with Kanata, your big sister gives you free rein to act as brazen as you want, so keep it up. Even if you end up getting married like us…”
“Huh… wha-!? T-That’s still too early…” Sakura stammered.
Kanata said his “That’s what I was planning” line as if it was the most normal thing in the world, but as his older brother, I knew that inwardly, he was embarrassed.
Shuu was more of an issue.
“So, what will you do, Shuu?” I asked, turning to him. “What do you and Rir want?”
“I… I’d like to stay with her, too. But… there’s a way home, ain’t there?”
“Yes, I was going to tell you about that after informing her about us… You’ll have to give this a lot of thought.”
“True…”
He looked as if he was thinking overly hard and seemed rather distressed. I wish I could help him, but at this point, all I could do was send them back.
“Then, could you call Rir in, so we can get this talk over with?”
There was no reaction to my proposal, so I called her via message. She immediately returned to the dining hall.
I’ll need to apologize to her for keeping her waiting without anything to do for those two hours.
TL notes:
I don’t like them keeping Rir out of the loop here, just to keep up the illusion. They are going to live together for the foreseeable future, so it’s very probable that someone will slip up at some point. It would be simpler just to come clean.
This will only get worse in future volumes, when we learn more about Rir (to the point where it feels like a retcon).
Footnotes:
- In the original, he comments that he can talk like he originally did, which isn’t really visible in my translation.
