Rir and I were sitting in the lobby, waiting for Kanata and Sakura. My girlfriend was still trembling.

“Hey, Rir… Why are ya tremblin’ that much!”
“W-Woof~… Whenever I see expensive things or rich people, I can’t help getting nervous. Until I met you, Master… I had no connection at all to this glittering world.”
“I see. Then let’s get you used to it little by little, alright? If you want to, we can rent an apartment here.”
“You’re right… The people you were looking for live here, too…”

While we were talking, the elf woman, who had gone to notify Kanata and Sakura, returned.

“They should arrive here soon, so please have a bit more patience,” she told us and then returned to the counter.

Two minutes later, a boy and a girl came rushing towards us¹. Almost automatically, I stood up and went to meet them.

They’re really here…!! From how it looks, they seem healthy… that’s great!

“Shuu!!”
“S-Shuu!”
“Kanata, Sakura… you’re safe!”

I shook Kanata’s hand. We were finally able to get back together.
I was just makin’ a livin’… though it was thanks to Thor that we met again…

At any rate, we reunited in this world.

“Yes… somehow we managed,” Kanata replied. “Erm… we immediately met the one who summoned us, and… Well, I can tell you the details later! In any case, this is great. You seem to be doing alright!”
“Same goes for you, you look like you’re not doin’ poorly, either². As for me… well, I’m workin’ as an adventurer. It was thanks to some dude called Thor, that I learned ’bout this place.”
“I see…! Mr. Thor… At any rate, let’s take a seat and talk about what happened.”

The three of us, Kanata, Sakura, and me… well, Rir was sitting next to me, though all she did was listen to our talk, so it should be the four of us, I guess? Anyway, we were all super happy to be back together, so we sat down in the lobby and told each other what had happened up till now.

I told them how I met Rir… how we were making a living… and so on. And even though I encountered quite a bit of trouble, Kanata and Sakura apparently didn’t have it much easier.

What surprised me most was that Sakura’s eyes, which should have barely been able to see anything, were fully healed. As a result of Kanata’s strenuous efforts, she apparently managed to restore her eyesight with a skill.

Well… at any rate, just without her glasses and slightly different clothes… she’s lookin’ like a completely different person. Nah, I knew from the beginnin’ that she was way prettier than the average person, but I didn’t expect it to be this extreme.

Guess that’s only natural since she’s Mika’s little sister?

That’s why I couldn’t stop myself from making a jibe about their relationship, same as I had done before with Ayumu and Mika…

“Jeez, you guys should hook up already!”
“Ah… erm, about that. Since yesterday…”
“We… uhm, we went from childhood friends to couple… Eh-heh-heh.”
“You serious!?”

That surprised me. Didn’t think it’d actually turn out like this.

From what Kanata later told me, they ended up confessing their feelings while they still could, since they didn’t know what might happen in this world…

Guess it was ’cause of that whole Ayumu and Mika affair. Thinkin’ back on how Mika got in the days after Ayumu’s death… I get why they felt this way.

Furthermore, we talked a bit about how we’d leveled up and increased our stats. We didn’t go too much into detail, but… from what they told me, they also cleared a dungeon, used Reincarnation several times, and created more than 20³ SS-Rank skills.

… I probably should add a few more of those to my roster, too.

That’s reminds me… The one thing we had in common was relyin’ on Ayumu’s philosophy of “doin’ the same thing over and over again”, y’see? Never expected that sick mentality to help us in our daily life…

If Ayumu had come to this world… he’d probably have turned out insane. Ha-ha.

Kanata, Sakura, and I were about to finish our reunion-slash-information exchange. Currently, we were talking about what we’d do from now on.

“What will we do? Rir and I taking care of you guys… probably ain’t what you want. Guess you’d rather have some alone time to get that relationship goin’?”
“…Yes,” Kanata reluctantly agreed.
“Uhm…” Sakura mumbled.

It’s fun to tease ’em like this, y’know. Especially with Kanata, who’s normally composed, bein’ all flustered.

“It’s the same for me. I have a lovely girlfriend now… right?”
“W-Woof~…!”

Rir’s face turned red, and she looked downwards.
Still, her ears are standin’ up… so I can tell she’s happy, y’know.

“With all bein’ said, guess it’ll be hard for us to act together… If I somehow manage to become either an SS- or SSS-Ranker, I might meet this Loukis, right?”
“That’s true,” Kanata replied.
“Well… let’s keep in contact, alright?” I told them.
“Of course.”

After that, I thought about asking them whether they wanted to eat together but decided to put it off for another time.

Those two only started datin’ yesterday, and Rir and I – especially Rir – might also want some alone time… least that’s my guess.

“Then… see you again soon.”
“Yes.”
“Bye…!”

The two returned to their own apartment. They could apparently teleport, though they didn’t do that. Did they only use it in places where other people wouldn’t see them?

“Woof… Master. It’s good that you were able to meet them.”
“Yup. Now… let’s look for a place to live that’s close by…” I said, while walking up to the counter of what was seen as high-end apartment housing in this world.

There, I called out to an employee.

“You’re right. I also need to get over my nervousness…” Rir commented. “Huh, Master… why are we at the reception?”

I was currently busy talking to the receptionist and couldn’t reply to Rir’s question. In a mental message, I asked her to wait for a bit.

Now… time for a big purchase.

TL note:
After 117 chapters, Shuu, Kanata, and Sakura finally managed to reunite. From this point on, we’ll get much more frequent changes between their PoV chapters, though they will still mostly act separately, mainly for the reasons mentioned in their talk.

Kanata talks politely with Shuu (plus calling him “Shuu-san”, which I’ve mentioned wayyyy back in that funeral chapter). I decided not to reflect this in my translation, since it frankly seems super weird in English when a 14-year-old talks that way to a 16-year-old (you’d probably think they are making fun of you). Shuu also drops his slang, but I kept it in for the sake of consistency, so it’s clear that he’s talking politely when he doesn’t use slang in English.

1. The original has a グミ at the ending. I have no clue what this is supposed to mean. My best guess would be a misspelled shape/appearance, seeing how Japanese often uses x-shape for things that you don’t see super clearly…
2. The original is 何か大事があったわけじゃなさそうだ (“doesn’t seem like something important/serious happened”).
3. The original is 特に叶君はSSランクのスキルも20個あるらしい (“especially Kanata-kun, he apparently also has 20 SS-Rank skills”). This doesn’t make much sense, since he only has 14. Maybe it means that he made a total of 20 but used 6 of those for synthesis?
