“Whew, that was delicious.”
“Glad you liked it! Once we’ve rested for a bit, we’ll go back to the dungeon, right?”
“Uh-huh.”
After lunch, the two kids drank a cup of black tea and then teleported to the dungeon.
“I’ll do another round, then.”
“Stay safe.”
Kanata disappeared from in front of Sakura’s eyes. He had gone to dive into the dungeon by himself.
“In any case, he’ll be back soon, so I better not do any monologuing this time.

“I’m back.”
Kanata had returned to Sakura’s side with abnormal speed. In his hand, he held another box.
“Welcome back. I didn’t wait for long. By the way, did you learn what these things are?”
“Yep. It looks like they are the keys to a so-called hidden stage, you see. You can apparently obtain as many of them as you want by clearing the mission room at legendary level.”
“I see. Oh, Kanata, when you clear the dungeon for real, please take me with you, alright?”
“Yup, I will.”
After that, Kanata told Sakura about the gains from this round.
First was the exp. One round yielded 1’211’500 experience points.
Next, he told her about the treasure he obtained from the key box this time. It was a single SS-Rank magic core. For Kanata, this was a big win, and he mentioned that he was hoping to obtain as many of them as possible.
“How long do you plan to keep going like this?”
“Let’s see… around three days, starting today? I’d like to find out if there’s a level cap. I’m going to make a few more rounds. Will you stay here, Sakura?”
“Yeah, I will. If I’m too far away, I won’t get any experience points, right? I’ll wait here.”
“Sorry about that.”
Kanata dove back into the dungeon. He said that he wouldn’t come back out for a while, except to reset the dungeon.
“There he goes…”
Sakura spread out a mat on the ground and sat down.
“(Kanata… he’s so gentle! What will I do, I really like him! How can he be so gentle? And so cool? Is that really my childhood friend? To begin with…)”
Sakura continued mumbling like that for four minutes. Suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder.
“…Kanata?”
“You got it!”
“You know, you can do several rounds without worrying about me?”
“That’s not it, I’m already done. Open your status screen for a moment.”
“Huh… What about it?”
Doing as Kanata had asked her to, Sakura opened her status screen. On the display, there was now a (MAX) next to her level, and the experience points had stopped at 9.2 million. And right after she had seen that, a message flowed into her head.
[When you use “Reincarnation”, your level resets to 1. However, your STP, SKP, skills and stats that have been increased will remain. There are various perks besides that. Please be aware, that any experience points exceeding the maximum value, will not be applied after “Reincarnation”.]
She closed the status screen and looked at Kanata.
“It said ‘Reincarnation’… What does this mean…?”
“Right, in other words, there’s no real end to leveling up.”
“So, what will we do from now on? Should we use Reincarnation?”
“We should. I mean, what else can we do? Thanks to all that STP1 we’ve allocated, our stats won’t change much.”
The two kids had already reached a realm unthinkable for normal people, so this didn’t particularly surprise them. Kanata, especially, came to the conclusion that this merely was an extension of the leveling process.
“I guess that’s true… Then shall we use Reincarnation?”
“Yup.”
The two kids used the Reincarnation command on their status screen. In addition to the title called “Apex” that they’d gained, several letters were added next to their level-display. Other than that, not much seemed to have changed.
“This was unexpectedly… simple,” Sakura commented. “Maybe we simply had our shares of surprises already?”
“That might be true. So, just doing eight rounds of this dungeon seems to be enough to reach the level cap.”
“Only eight rounds?”
“Yep. It’d be 40 for normal people…”
“Even though it’s that easy to get strong… no one seems to know about this method.”
Even as someone not well versed in video games, Sakura came to that conclusion.
“Looks like it. No idea why it’s like that… Once I’ve done another eight rounds, let’s go home and allocate points. I’m a bit tired, so let’s call it a day afterwards.”
“Alright.”

“I’m back~!”
“Welcome back! Then, let’s go home, and once we’re done with our stat screens, we can have dinner and-”
“It’s not that late yet, is it?”
“True enough. In that case, if we have free time… would you like to play something?”
“Alright, once we’re done with our stats.”
The two kids teleported back to the inn and used Reincarnation for the second time.
“Sakura… From how it looks, going from level 1 to 255 nets you 19’000 STP and SKP. That’s including the bonuses from reaching certain level thresholds2. For us, that’s multiplied by five.”
“So, it’s 95’000 points? There won’t be anything to use all that SKP on.”
“That’s for sure… Our main issue is the magic cores.”
While chatting and trading questions, they then started allocating their points on the status screen.
TL notes:
And this is it for this round of Kanata’s and Sakura’s chapters. Next time, we’re finally back to Alim and Mika (after a break of 35 chapters).
The dynamic between the two kids is similar as with Alim and Mika during dungeon grinding, though here it’s less Sakura not wanting to do endless monster slaying and more Kanata being unwilling to put her into danger (even though these monsters likely wouldn’t pose any danger at this point).
[Your level has reached the upper limit. You obtained the title “Apex”. Due to your level reaching the upper limit, the “Reincarnation” command has been unlocked.]
