I opened just my eyes, with my languid body still in custody of the bed. The morning sun was already shining through the bedroom’s window, and I could hear several birds chirping. Mika had likely gotten up, since she was no longer in my arms.

“Eh-heh-heh… Morning… Ayumu.”

When I thought that, I found her next the bed, gazing at me. She looked adorable. After patting her head, I lightly kissed her once, got off the bed, and then put on underwear and clothing. I took out an Amrita from my magic pouch and gulped it down. Thanks to it, all my exhaustion disappeared without a trace.

“Ayumu, should we prepare breakfast… and then wake Karua and the others?”
“Alright.”

I really would’ve preferred to stay as Ayumu on a day like this, but Karua, Lilo, and Myuri were here, so I turned back into Alim. The instant I changed my gender, the pants I was wearing transformed into a skirt. Afterwards, I cooked dinner in a few seconds, and then called Karua, Lilo, and Myuri via message.

“I wish you a good morning!”
“Morning~!”
“A good morning to you all!”

After a short time, the three of them arrived, wearing casual clothing. It happened after we had eaten breakfast, which was mostly salad with smoked salmon, and were talking about our plans for today.

Mika and I received a message.
[Good morning! ‘Tis Us, Rose! Alim, Mika, wouldst it be acceptable, if We were to visit thy house today?]

What should we do, Karua and the others are here, so… Let’s ask them if they’re fine with another person joining us.
Mika also urged me via eye contact to ask them.

“Erm… Everyone, a friend just told us that she’d like to come visit today. Would that be alright with you? She’s a dragon demi human…”
“Yes, of course! The more the merrier.”
“A dragonfolk…? Those are rare, aren’t they?”
“I wonder, who might she be?”

Looks like they are fine with it. Once Rose joins us, we can play games with six people, right? Maybe Karua also gains a new friend.

[That’s fine, Rose, please come. If you want to, you can also stay for the night. We currently have three friends staying with us, though you probably won’t mind, right?]
[Aye, We don’t mind. More people means more enjoyment, nay?]

About an hour after we finished eating breakfast, the doorbell of our mansion rang. It was Rose. We all went to the front door to welcome her.

“Pardon Our intrusion!” she declared in a lively voice, when she entered the house. “Oh, ye art here already. Our name is Rose! From now on, We are in thy care.”
“Miss Rose, right? I am called Karua.”
“Rose… Rose, oh, you’re that girl everyone’s talking about recently!” Lilo exclaimed.

Come to think of it, that’s the first time I hear about Rose’s reputation with other people.

“Everyone’s talking about her?”
“Yeah, they are! It’s not to the extent of you, Alim, Mika, but she’s an adventurer who quickly completes requests and can use incredible magic! Some people also say that she might reach S- or SS-Rank in the future, you know.”
“Heh-heh, is that so? We see. That is Our reputation, nay? Heh-heh-heh,” Rose commented bashfully in apparent joy.

For the time being, we returned to our room, where Karua and the others started to talk to Rose.

“You are of the dragon tribe, Miss Rose, are you not? You have something that looks like dragon fins on your ears.”
“Well, We are. Also… thy name was Karua, nay? Wouldst thou not say that a friend of a friend is also a friend? There is no need for thou to call Us ‘Miss’. Neither dost thou need talk politely.”
“Yes! I understand… Rose… is that better? My apologies for talking overly politely, it is a habit.”
“We see, We don’t mind! How sayest thou, Karua?”

I should probably tell Rose that Karua is the princess of this country, shouldn’t I? If they end up playing together later… since Rose’s manner of speaking can be a bit pompous at times. I wouldn’t want that to cause issues.

[Rose, Rose. There’s something you should know about Karua, she’s the princess of this country.]
[Wha-!? Dost thou speak true?]
[Yup, she is. On that note, Miss Lilo and Miss Myuri are the daughters of the minister and the archbishop. It shouldn’t cause any big issues if you talk to them as you’ve done just now, but try not to be rude, alright?]
[W-… W-W-W-W-W-We understand…] she replied in a slight panic.

Oh, I messed up, Rose is the type to get weak in front of authority… Right after she found out how society saw Mika and me, she changed how she treated us, didn’t she? But if she doesn’t take care, it won’t end well.

“That’s right, erm, is it alright, if we also just call you Rose? My name is Lilo…”
“I am called Myuri.”
“Y-Y-Y-Yes, h-how sayest thou? I shall be in thy care…”

Not good, she got too nervous. She acted like that with us, too, didn’t she?

“Hm~? Did you change the way you talk, Rose?”
“N-N-N-Nay, W-W-We certainly did not!”
“Huh? How strange.”

TL notes:
We’re back to Alim, Mika, and their visitors, now joined by Rose.

An unintended side effect of me localizing Rose with Shakespearean speech, is that her sentences sound more polite than normal English (or at least more long-winded). She usually doesn’t use polite speech in the original, but she switches to it at the end of the chapter here. I tried to make that visible by having her switch from the very pompous majestic plural to the normal “I”.
