The IV shoot wrapped up on August 31st, the end of summer vacation.

There’s an opening ceremony today, so I’m heading to school.
I’m a bit excited to see Yuuto and my classmates again after a long time.

My muscle pain has also improved a lot, so there’s nothing wrong with my body, and I’m all set to go back to school.

As usual, I took the bus.

Upon arriving at school, I headed to the classroom to catch up with everyone I hadn’t seen since the summer vacation.

Surprisingly enough, many of my classmates were already there when I entered the classroom, despite it being an hour when not many people usually show up.

I guess everyone was excited to meet their friends and came to school early.

I know I’m not one to talk, but aren’t they all too excited?!

Then I spotted Yuuto, so I went over to say hi.
“Morning, Yuuto! Oh, did you get super tanned or something?”
“Yo, Yuki. Morning.
Yeah, I’ve been outside a lot for club activities, so I’m totally sunburnt now,” says Yuuto with a wry smile.

“Must be tough doing sports outside this time of year.”
“Eh, I’m used to it by now.
Just the sunburn hurts a bit, you know…”
“The only time I went outside was for cosplay and photoshoots cause it was too hot.”
“Photoshoot? I didn’t hear anything about that.”
“Huh?”
“Good morning, Yuki-kun! I just heard something juicy! What’s this photoshoot about?!”
The word ‘photoshoot’ seemed to magnetically draw a trio of girls from our class over to us.

“I’m curious, too.”
“Photoshoot, huh? Tell us what kind of outfit you wore!”
Amane-san, Kouzuki-san, and Hanazono-san crowded around me all at once.

“Uh, well, it’s hard to explain, but I heard it was autumn wear?”
“That’s pretty vague.”
“Autumn wear, like for women? Or for men?”
“Do you have any photos?”
“Uh, it was women’s clothing, actually.”
“Yesss!!!”
“Photos…”
“I bet it was adorable…”

“You guys never hide your desires, do you…”
Yuuto mutters in disbelief.

“There’s no way such a cute guy should be wearing men’s clothes! It’s a loss for humanity, hello?!”
“Are you being serious right now?!”
Kouzuki-san blurted out something outrageous, but calling it a loss for humanity is a bit much, isn’t it?

“Can’t deny that.”
“I also wanna see you in cute clothes…”
“No one’s on my side except Yuuto!”
“Sorry, Yuki, but I’ve actually always thought you’d look good crossdressing.”
“Yuutoooooooooooooooo?!?!?!”
Turns out I had no allies.

“But I won’t force you or anything.”
“Yeah, we don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
“We’d still love to see it, though.”
“Urhh…”
While I’m getting more used to the idea of crossdressing, showing it to classmates I see every day is still a bit of a stretch.

“But Yuki, you seem different somehow.”
“Yeah, you look a bit cuter than before!”
“Like, your skin is glowing?”
“It looks so soft and squishy…”
“Eh? Oh, maybe it’s because…”
“You’re thinking of something, aren’t you!!!”
“Uh, well, that’s…”
“Come on, spill it! Spill the beans!”
“Ughhhhh…”
“Tell me too, pleaaase?”
“Fine… actually, I started skin care…”
The only reason I started it was because Ito-san, the makeup artist, said that if I’m going to do makeup again, I should keep my skin in good condition.
It’s only been a few days, but it seems to be working.

“You sound like a girl.”
“You are a girl, basically.”
“Welcome to the world of girls.”
“Skin care can be tough, right?”
“But it’s still a bit different, you know.”
“Yeah, it’s not just skin care.”
“It’s hard to explain.”
“Yeah, I also don’t think it’s just skin care.”
“Huh?”
What do they mean?

“Uh, it’s like he’s getting a bit girlier, you know…”
“Ah! Yes, yes! That’s the vibe!”
“He used to feel more normal, though.”
“Ah, is that what it is?”
“Why are you agreeing with them, Yuuto… And I’m still a guy, okay?!
I mean, I know I said it, but… I’m definitely a guy, all right?”

Then, in the middle of our lively conversation, the teacher came.
We were told to head to the gym, so all my classmates lined up and went to listen to the principal’s loooooooooooong long speech.

After returning, we were met with a long homeroom session.
It seems we’d hand in our assignments during each class, so we were going to do something different today.

“Okay, we’re going to decide what our class will do for the school festival.”
Right, the school festival.
The usual options are like haunted houses or some mysterious art exhibit, if I recall.

“Me!!!!”
Kouzuki-san energetically raises her hand and makes a suggestion.

“I think a cosplay café would be great!!!”
Oh… That’s another classic; I forgot about that.

“Cosplay café, okay.”
The teacher silently wrote ‘Cosplay Café’ on the blackboard.

But it seemed like the other girls in the class weren’t too keen on it, with comments like, ‘Cosplay is a bit of a tall order…’ and ‘A girl, saying that?’

The boys, on the other hand, seemed thrilled, saying, ‘I was about to suggest that!’ like their minds were already filled with the idea of a cosplay café.

“Excuse me, teacher, may I speak for a moment?”
Kouzuki-san raises her hand again.
“What is it?”

“Um, since the girls aren’t really into the idea, can I talk to them for a bit?”
“Hmm, okay, but only five minutes, all right?”
“Thank you!”
With that, Kouzuki-san gathers the girls in one corner of the classroom and starts whispering to them.

Huh? Why do I suddenly feel a chill… Is it just me?

After five minutes, all the girls in the class agreed unanimously to do the cosplay café.
The boys were overjoyed.

Huh? What just happened?

Thus, our class decided to do a cosplay café for this year’s school festival.
Even the teacher said they’d never experienced a situation where no other suggestions were made.

♢(From the girls’ side)

“Why don’t you tell us why you suggested cosplay, even though you’re a girl?”
I, Miyuki Kouzuki, stood before all the girls in my class.

“Okay, I’ll explain as the person who suggested it.”
I could feel the disapproving stares from everyone except my usual group of three friends.
I get it, but this is my only chance to see it happen, so I’m going for it.

“You know Yuki Himemura in our class, right?”
“Yeah, the one with a kinda cute vibe.”
“He’s cute, Himemura-kun.”
“Hmm… Now that you mention it, he is kinda cute.”
Looks like I got their attention.
Now, to win their hearts.

“Don’t you want to see him in a dress?”
“?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Everyone looked shocked.

“If we just put up with a little cosplay, we might get to see a cute boy who normally wouldn’t dress up as a girl, right?”
“That’s… true…”
“Kouzuki-san, are you a genius or something?!”
“I’m in! I’ll do it!”
“I wanna see!!! If enduring it means seeing it, then I’m down!!!”
“Just to be clear, it’s not guaranteed, okay?”
“If he really doesn’t want to, then we can’t force him.”
“So, you’re saying you’ll try to convince him?”
“Of course! Leave it to me!”
“Then I have nothing to say.”
“Me neither.”
“Oh, all right. Nihehe.”

And that’s how we all unanimously decided to do the cosplay café.
I’m going to work hard to see Yuki-kun in a dress!
