The next day after they defeated the raid boss was also the last day of Hinagiku and Miyuki’s stay… and Kou overslept that morning.

As she opened her eyes, her mind still clouded by drowsiness, she felt like she had slept for a long time, even though she had gone to bed early the night before. And when she checked the time, she realized it was already nine in the morning.

…She could feel all the blood drain from her face.

Lately, she had been learning to control her strength better, training each morning with her mother Amari, but three hours had already passed since that would have ended.

“I-I’m so sorry, Mom, I completely overslept and… Ah!”

She changed clothes in a hurry and rushed to the living room… where she found her mother and an unexpected guest, so she quickly hid behind a corner.

“Hello there, good morning, Kou.” That guest smiled teasingly, placing a hand to her lips as she greeted Kou. She was Hinagiku’s mother—Kikyo.

“Ah… I’m sorry, I didn’t know you would be here…”
“I know, I ended up freeing myself earlier than I thought~”

It was also the day of S City’s fireworks display. Kikyo had promised Hinagiku that they would be together to watch it, which explained why she was in the living room now.

“I’m so sorry… I should’ve freshened up before—”
“No worries~ Your mother told me everything. It seems our children had a very eventful night.”
“Ahaha… It’s still a little embarrassing, but yes.”

Kou had changed into her sportswear in a hurry, so her hair was still rather disheveled, making her embarrassed to look like that in front of a guest.

But Kikyo didn’t seem to mind at all, letting Kou feel a bit more at ease. After fixing up some of the kinks in her clothes, she went to sit down in the living room with them.

“Still, I wasn’t expecting to see you two together like this.”

All Kou remembered was Amari and Kikyo constantly bickering, but she tried not to mention that as she took a sip from a newly poured cup of black tea. Yes… somehow, the two mothers were sharing tea in an amiable fashion.

“I can see why this would surprise you.”
“It’s just that today, we both benefit from a truce.”

The two mothers nodded at each other, while Kou remained confused—only having a bad feeling about whatever those two were planning. Amari seemed entertained by Kou’s reaction, but then she shook her head, taking something out of her pocket she had just remembered.

“So… Kou, I’ve already paid for this, so at three in the afternoon you’ll go with the rest of the girls to the spa and get your hair done.” Saying that, Amari handed over a note with the entire schedule written out. It also included the name of the spa, a rather large and well-known place.

“Umm… but why?”
“Heh, let’s not spoil tonight’s surprise.”

Amari just grinned teasingly instead of giving a proper reply, but Kou had a very faint idea of what would happen once she got back.

“I still don’t like this habit of yours…” Kou could only sigh and shake her head.

Her conversation with the two mothers finished, Kou went to her room.

“…Hah… ah… mmph…”

A wet sound, like something being sucked, faintly echoed in the room, all the windows darkened with curtains.

It was a Sunday… which meant that it was the time Hijiri had agreed to share her blood with Kou. Hijiri was sitting on the bed, while Kou deliriously sucked on her slender finger.

“…Mmm… mh…”

Meanwhile, Hijiri was trying to stifle her own voice, biting on her index finger from her other hand while letting out hot breaths, which mixed with the wet sounds.

Eventually, it was time for Kou to let go of the finger, a sad look on her face, after which she used her pink tongue to carefully lick over the small bite mark on Hijiri’s finger.

That wasn’t something she was doing out of desire, but because Kou was a Noble Red, and her saliva had healing properties. Amari had explained that it was something they could do to comfort whoever they sucked blood from.

“Mm… heheh… Kou, it tickles when you lick me like that…”

Hijiri’s shoulders twitched as she felt Kou’s soft tongue rubbing against her finger, and she used her empty hand to gently comb Kou’s hair. Some time after that, Kou felt like she was done and pulled back, ready to wrap things up.

“Phew… That felt great. Thank you like always, Hijiri.”
“Mm, it was my pleasure… hahh…”

Hijiri’s cheeks were red, and she seemed more fidgety than usual, so Kou checked the wound on her finger in confusion, wondering if something was wrong. There was nothing out of the ordinary there, and when she looked at Hijiri’s face again, she was back to normal.

“So… where did Hinagiku and Miyuki go?”

Kou opened the thick curtains covering the windows and asked Hijiri, who was still sitting on the bed. Those two girls had been nowhere to be seen when Kou went downstairs before, so they had to be somewhere outside.

“They ended their radio calisthenics early this morning, so now they’re napping in the hammock Uncle Sora hung in the garden.”
“Ah, that sounds nice.”

The weather was not as humid as the days before, with a fresh breeze, making it the perfect environment to nap outside. That also brought back memories from elementary school for Kou, since back then Sora would also get the hammock ready for her.

“And Subaru is in DUO now. He’s there explaining the thing for tonight to Rouge.”
“I see… We’ll have to get things ready on our side too, then.”

Saying that, Kou sat on the bed as well, opened an NLD application she had installed recently, and began configuring it, filling in all the necessary settings.

“Kou… Do you remember? You told me you’d do anything during the boss fight.”
“Hm? Yeah, of course I will. What do you want?”

Kou’s eyes were still focused on the settings window, but she was still able to pay attention to what Hijiri was saying, and replied without much care. A moment later… Kou felt Hijiri’s soft summer cardigan wrap around her, along with the gentle scent of floral soap.

“Then, just you and me—wanna hang out… no, do you wanna go on a date?”

Feeling Hijiri hug her from behind, and that voice whispering next to her ear, made Kou freeze, unable to really understand what was happening.

“Umm… huh? What did you say?”
“Let’s go on a date. Just you and me.”

Kou instinctively turned around to ask again, which brought her face so close to Hijiri that their noses were almost touching, and Hijiri added, “Please?”

Hearing that soft voice, and seeing Hijiri’s alluring face so close by, finally made Kou’s brain shut down.

I mean, it’s not that I don’t want to. Actually, I feel like I’d really like to do something like that. Umm… but not with everyone, just the two of us?

“…WHAAAAAAATTT?!!” As soon as her brain rebooted, Kou’s wild and confused shout echoed through the entire Mitsuki household…
