“Well, we ran into all sorts of trouble… But t’was a successful expedition everyone!!”

Following Crim’s lead, everyone raised their juice glasses cheering loudly.

…They were currently in Castle Seyfert’s garden.

Nord Glacier and all the other guilds that had gone to explore the Fairy Village were gathered there…so the inner garden would have been too crowded. Instead, Adonis and the other servants set up tables around the training area outside, leading to an outdoors stand-up party.

“You know… It’s kinda crazy how you can celebrate like this after everything that happened. It almost feels inconsiderate in a way…”

Suzaku grumbled a bit. If it was up to him, he would be training and working on getting stronger already.

“Don’t take it so badly. Making a clear distinction between working days and holidays is important, thy mind won’t last three months with nothing but training…which I’m painfully aware of myself.”
“…So you noticed.”
“Yes. Thou evolved while fighting Da’at, right?”

Suzaku reluctantly nodded when pressed by Crim.
Having evolved as well, Crim had first hand experience of how mentally taxing controlling those new abilities could be, and Suzaku had no choice but to accept her suggestion.

“Not just that, but thine eyes have become yellow as well, with slitted pupils like a dragon’s.”
“Eughh… Why do they keep trying to make me look so contrived…”
“That’s nothing, try walking in my shoes for a moment.”

Suzaku was not amused by that changed, grimacing just at the thought, and then Crim, the red eyed albino vampire (with added devil wings) stepped in to comfort him.

“…Dragoon. That’s what I evolved into. Apparently it’s because I absorbed some of Fafnir’s blood or something.”
“Interesting…I guess humans can evolve into different species if conditions are met.”

Crim nodded along, processing that information.

“And then when I was fighting Da’at I used this trait…here, Dragon Armor: Fafnir.”

Scrolling down through his stats window, he eventually found what he wanted and read it aloud.

“Hmm… I guess I didn’t change as much as you did. It’s only when I activate this new ability that I can change a part or my whole body into a dragon’s. Just like this.”

As a demonstration, Suzaku used the ability on his arm, which soon became covered in silver scales.
Closer inspection revealed that it was more than armor, sporting sharp claws, which were kept short so that he could still wield a weapon if he wanted.

“Didst thou say that also works on thy whole body? How does that look?”
“Master, I really want to see that too!”
“Okay okay, you don’t have to get so close… Give me some space!”

The conversation had gotten Hinagiku curious as well, and together they began cornering Suzaku.
Having two girls get so close to him made his face turn beet red, forcing him to showcase the ability to break free.

“”Ohhh?!””

“You look really cool!”
“That…that looks so good!”

As soon as he finished transforming, Hinagiku and Crim shouted with excitement. His whole body was covered in armor…but not the bulky kind, instead being a skin tight slick armor, giving him the appearance of an agile silver knight.
There were a bit too many thorns and the design was too violent for him to appear like a super hero, but the powerful heroic stance made up for it.
That fueled Hinagiku and Crim’s excitement further, as they quickly rushed up to him and began examining every corner of it in a daze, deeply troubling Suzaku.

“It looks like Crim is having a good time over there.”
“I mean, I get it too. I almost wish I could be there.”
“You also like it, Frey?”
“Yeah, I think all guys love that kind of stuff. Though those two are girls.”

Frey grimaced seeing how little self restraint those two had. But seeing that Sorleon, and even Ryunosuke were watching from a distance with keen interest, just like all the other guys there, he realized he could not just blame Crim and Hinagiku.

“Tell me there’s also a flight ability!!”
“Can you grow wings?!”
“Yeah, yeah, just stand back a little…here!”
“”OHHH!!””

Pressured into doing more, Suzaku deployed a pair of silver dragon wings, covered in scales, which Crim and Hinagiku admired in unison.
Those two girls were just like children entranced by cartoons, making Frey and Freya sigh in the distance.

“Umm…*ehem*, by the way, Suzaku.”
“You know, no matter what you do now, you’ll never regain all that charisma you just lost.”
“Who cares?!”

Once Crim realized she was behaving no different from a grade schooler, her face went beet red and she tried to play it off, but Suzaku, still in full silver armor, would not let her off the hook so easily after everything he had endured. But then she decided to push that aside, knowing there was something more important to do.

“It didn’t seem like fighting in a partially transformed state was an issue earlier, but what about now?”

Everyone around them nodded in agreement, wondering the same thing as Crim.

“I mean, it’s not like I have that overkill speed like you…”
“If that’s the case, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Just come at me.”
“…It’s not my fault if you get hurt?”
“Don’t worry. I’m feeling especially generous so don’t hold back.”

Under Crim’s insistence, Suzaku slowly lowered his stance, ready to sprint ahead.

*I feel like I’ve seen this before…*

Many audience members recalled a previous event, except for Suzaku and Haru who had not been there. So fully ignorant of what would happen, Suzaku dashed forward.

…Then the whole garden shook violently.

An explosion echoed through Castle Seyfert, as a huge dust cloud emerged from the other side of the outdoor training area. Once that settled down…

“Well…there’s still a long road to traverse before we can rescue Da’at.”

All the way outside the training area…a pair of legs clad in silver armor were sticking out from the ground, swinging wildly, and Crim could only let out a long sigh…
