The zombies began to rush into the hall. As the place turned into a battlefield, Crim swiftly handed out orders to her allies, for she was the leader of their United Kingdom.

“We know not when the zombies may burst, so strike them down only from afar! And should any slip through our defenses… Black Wolf Pack, may I rely upon ye?”
“Understood!”

The leader of the Black Wolf Pack, a black-haired Warbeast named Jed, answered at once. His comrades followed with a loud, united howl.

“Just remember, one misstep shall see ye caught within the blasts. Yet I know full well the strength each of ye doth bear, so I trust this to be the right course.”

They had fought together many times before, so Crim was well aware of the Black Wolf Pack’s strength. That was why she bowed slightly as she asked them to take on that dangerous task.

“Alright, you heard her, everyone! Our Ditzy Lord trusts us! Don’t let a single one through!”
“Yeahhh!!”

Their spirited response as they spread across the battlefield made Crim tilt her head in slight confusion, but her expression hardened again when she noticed Bifrons grinning.

*”Oh my…are you really trying to take me on with these numbers?”*

Only a fraction of the players were facing Bifrons himself. Compared to the swarms of undead, their numbers looked pitifully small.

There was Crim and her guild, Lua Cheia. Elmir and his guild, Silver Wings. And that was it, only those two guilds. Everyone else was occupied holding back the undead pouring into the hall, which made Bifrons chuckle mockingly.

*”Just a friendly warning…but the Undead King was far weaker…than me!”*

Bifrons swung his scythe, unleashing a crescent-shaped slash at Crim.

Without losing her composure, Crim blocked with her own blade, but the force behind the strike was overwhelming for her small frame. The impact sent her flying backward.

“Don’t touch my Master!”

Seeing Crim attacked enraged Hinagiku, who charged in from the right, preparing to unleash her unsheathing strike.

“Don’t you dare… don’t you dare talk about him..!”

Elmir, furious at Bifrons’ mockery of the Undead King, came in from the left with his sword ready. Setsuna also appeared behind, running low with her dagger poised.

In the end, three strikes came at Bifrons at once, but—

*”…Too easy!”*

He caught Hinagiku’s katana with the blade of his scythe, shoved Elmir’s sword aside with the handle, then slipped past Setsuna and kicked off her back.

That left Setsuna exposed. Bifrons twisted his scythe down toward her, intent on claiming his first victim. But…

*Poof!* A popping sound echoed as Setsuna’s body dispersed into a paper talisman.

“…There’s only one easy foe here.”
*”Wha—?!”*

Bifrons had not expected an attack from the front. His expression faltered as he barely managed to dodge Crim’s lunge, her speed almost impossible to follow. Her blade missed, but she was already in position for a follow-up strike.

***SLASH!***

With a sharp sound, Bifrons’ arm spun through the air, severed cleanly. Seeing that, Bifrons dodged instinctively as another slash passed where his head had been, leaving only a thin slice on his neck that began to glow red.

*”…This can’t be. I thought I got rid of you first.”*
“Hahah! To be blown away in so dramatic a fashion was naught but a bluff. I commend thy resilience and thy swiftness of reaction, yet ’tis plain thou art but a birdbrain when it cometh to wits. Is it not so, chicken… chiiiicken!”
“You heard her! You big dumbo!”

Crim planted her scythe on the ground, unbothered by having missed one strike, and conjured a new sword while mocking Bifrons. Right behind her was Setsuna, who had created that opening, sticking her tongue out as she mocked him as well.

Bifrons was beginning to grow enraged, while red vein-like tendrils stretched from the cut on his arm, slowly congealing to reform the severed flesh.

They had clearly managed to deal a decent amount of damage, but it had not been enough to keep him mutilated, his body reforming with a vile, devilish resilience.

*”…I understand you’re prideful, but I wasn’t expecting to be ridiculed to this extent.”*
“Ahahahah! Art those thy words, after boasting so boldly ere now? I wonder, what doth it feel like? Wilt thou tell me?”

For the first time so far, Bifrons looked around uneasily, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead as he kept his glare fixed on Crim. But his look of unease only seemed to please her more. Crim appeared almost ecstatic, as though she were gazing down at a pitiful insect.

“…What was it thou spakest of the Undead King? It seemeth I have already forgotten, wouldst thou be so kind as to say it once more?”
*”…I really can’t stand you after all.”*
“Hah, really now?”

Having successfully humiliated her opponent to some extent left Crim in high spirits. With that fleeting satisfaction, she turned serious again, unsheathing her black sword and leveling the blade at his forehead.

The entire hall tensed as an overwhelming surge of anger filled the air.

“…I shall never forgive thee.”

Bifrons finally realized he had provoked something far too great for him to handle. But Crim only laughed menacingly, telling him it was far too late for regrets.
