Chapter 164 – The Student Council President Estea Sidra
The duel between Student Council President Estea and Hom was set to take place in the training hall within the noble dormitory.
Ignis’ entourage had now been joined by Estea’s supporters, and a significant number of noble dormitory students had gathered. The rumor of the duel had spread like wildfire. Even those who didn’t come directly to the training hall had crowded the dormitory hallways, eager to catch a glimpse of the fight.
“This is… a lot of attention…”
Alfe, who had tagged along, shrank slightly under the weight of countless curious gazes, looking a bit intimidated.
“Nya-ha, feels like we’re deep in enemy territory, huh?”
Farah chuckled dryly. Beside her, Vannabelle gave a rare silent nod, while Numelin cautiously surveyed their surroundings.
“You have nothing to worry about,” Estea suddenly said, as if having overheard our murmurs. “Since you have already defeated Ignis, your rights will not be threatened. This duel is merely to uphold the honor of the student council.”
Then, with a poised smile full of unwavering confidence, she added—
“So please, feel free to lose with peace of mind.”
Estea’s strength was undeniable—she was already the student council president despite being only a second-year.
“I have no intention of fighting as Ignis did, worry not,” Hom responded firmly, clenching her fists as she stepped up to stand beside Estea.
“Oh my, then I must take extra care not to underestimate you,” Estea said with a graceful smile, resting her hand on the sword at her waist. “I will be using this magic sword. You may choose whatever weapon you like.”
With that declaration, Estea strode confidently onto the circular battle stage. Though mostly obscured by the crowd, seating had been arranged around the arena, and many students had already taken their places, closely watching the two duelists.
Naturally, there were no students from the general dormitory present. My friends and I found ourselves once again the subject of prying noble eyes.
“Ugh, more demi-human discrimination…” Vannabelle clicked her tongue in frustration before seating herself a bit further from the stage.
“I’ll be taking my position here.”
“Belle~. It’s dangerous to sit there~.”
“It’s my fault to begin with. Can’t exactly act like I’m cheering from a distance, right?”
Well, I could understand where Vannabelle was coming from, but staying farther from the arena might actually be better for Hom to have more space to fight.
“ “We, the F Alliance, are bound by fate, after all.” ”
For some reason, Lili-Lulu, who had followed along, nodded seriously and stood behind Vannabelle, crossing their arms in sync with her.
“ “Lili-Lulu too shall watch the outcome of the battle here.” ”
Saying that, Lili-Lulu summoned a curtain-like defensive barrier with wind magic.
“Well then, we’ll tag along too. Hom, go ahead and fight as you think best.”
“I’ll be off, Master.”
Sent off by me, Hom jumped onto the arena with a tense look on her face. She was probably sensing how exceptional Estea’s abilities were just from her presence.
“Lili-Lulu, why did you come along?”
Alfe, holding my hand, gently asked Lili-Lulu. Lili-Lulu, still with their arms crossed, pointed toward Estea and spoke flatly.
“ “It is a good opportunity to assess a fellow wind magic user up close.” ”
At Lili-Lulu’s words, Estea reacted slightly and shifted her gaze toward us.
“It seems the dark elf girls have seen right through it.”
Estea drew her sword. In that instant, a cold breeze swept through, and a green, glowing wind blade formed on the blade of her sword.
“The Canado-style swordsmanship, Whirlwind Blade. I will use this technique to fight you. Come at me whenever you’re ready.”
With a determined expression, Hom nodded and gripped the Hiraishin hanging from her neck, solidifying her clenched fist with armament transmutation.
“I’m coming!” From the very first move, Hom closed the distance with Estea in a single breath and dove into her range.
“How bold!” Estea dodged Hom’s strike and, leaping into the air, quickly circled around to Hom’s back.
“Hom!”
Hom, having her back taken, instinctively lowered her stance. Estea’s strike narrowly missed, cutting through Hom’s hair and scattering white strands into the air.
“First Blade—Gale!”
Estea’s shout turned into a chant, and the blade she swiftly drew became wreathed in a whirlwind-like blade. In the moment Estea took a step forward, a gust of wind swept through, and a cross-shaped wind slashed across Hom’s front.
“Armament Transmutation!”
Hom expanded her gauntlet, using it to guard her upper body, but Estea’s attack pierced through it in a single strike, and the second blow hit Hom.
“Haahh!”
Hom used the Hiraishin to unleash a lightning strike, deflecting the path of the wind blade. However, it wasn’t enough to nullify the force of the attack, and she was slammed down onto the battlefield.
“It’s still too early for you to rest.”
“…!”
Reacting to Estea closing the distance, Hom immediately used transmutation to repair her gauntlet and sprang back to her feet. She launched a kick with both legs, as if to throw herself at Estea. In response, Estea quickly took several steps back.
“To force me to retreat, you’re quite impressive.”
Estea watched Hom, who had regained her stance, with a delighted expression. The next moment, the students, who had been watching the fierce back-and-forth with bated breath, erupted into cheers.
“Estea! Estea!”
“Estea! Estea!”
The voices calling Estea’s name grew louder and more fervent as the crowd became more energized.
There was not a single voice cheering for Hom. Even if we shouted, our voices were drowned out by the overwhelming cheers that became even fiercer, like a storm. However, on the battlefield, it seemed as though Hom couldn’t hear those voices at all. She simply stared straight at Estea.
Estea Sidra

It turns out literally all I needed to do this entire time was to double click the image then shift+rightclick to save it… Here I was using all manner of slow workarounds because of its closed ecosystem design… The hell is over.
