The next day, when I arrived at the classroom for 1st Year Class F, I found my classmates standing out in the hallway.
“…Huh? What’s going on?” Alfe observed, tilting her head curiously.
“Looks like we can’t go in. But everyone’s looking pretty happy about it,” Farah behind her silently observed the classmates. As she said, it didn’t seem like anything bad was going on.
“ “Alfe!” ”
As soon as they spotted Alfe, Lili-Lulu rushed over in unison, their voices harmonizing.
“Lili-Lulu! Are you feeling better?” With a natural grace, Alfe began the Elf Alliance dance while expressing concern for Lili-Lulu.
“ “Naturally! And our Elf Alliance is eternal and indestructible!” ”
“Yeah!”
The three of them began twirling in circles, creating a cheerful rhythm that drew applause from the other classmates.
In the past, most of them would have just stared in bafflement. But today, they clapped along with genuine enthusiasm.
Their newfound camaraderie was likely thanks to the mock battle against Class A, where Alfe and the twins had shone. That shared experience must have strengthened the bond between them. Sensing this, Alfe beamed with joy.
“Hehe, this is fun!”
“ “Let us take this opportunity to form the F Alliance1 with Class F.” ”
“Sounds fun. Count me in.”
“Leafa and Hom, come too!”
Lili-Lulu quickly released their hands, making space for Farah, Hom, and me to join.
Soon, other students formed a circle around us, clumsily trying to mimic the dance. It was a bizarre sight, yet oddly heartwarming. I couldn’t help but smile.
“Hahaha! Looks like you’re all having fun. And it seems your bonds have deepened,” laughed Mr. Tanutanu as he arrived, stepping into the circle with ease.
We all laughed and danced together, the classroom a swirl of joy, until the doors burst open. Nume and Vannabelle called out to us.
“Everyone~! It’s ready~!”
“Come on in!”
The smiling classmates filed into the classroom. Following them, we were greeted by a sight that took my breath away.
On the blackboard, the word “Celebration” floated, surrounded by blooming flowers conjured through magic.
The tiered desks were piled with snacks and drinks, giving the whole space the festive air of a small party.
“What… what is the meaning of this?” Like Isaac, who mumbled in disbelief beyond joy, the other students were visibly stunned by the classroom’s transformation.
“Isn’t it obvious? It’s a celebration! Right, Teacher?” Vannabelle exclaimed, looking to Mr. Tanutanu for confirmation.
With his arms crossed, Mr. Tanutanu nodded deeply.
“Indeed. You achieved the monumental feat of defeating Class A. So, today, we’ll use homeroom and my lesson time for a party.” With the teacher’s approval, the class erupted into cheers, the tension from moments ago melting into excitement.
“It’s modest, but we’ve prepared some snacks and drinks~!”
“Nume, your ‘modest’ is way too extravagant!”
As Numelin invited everyone to help themselves, Vannabelle chuckled wryly, assisting her. The array of drinks was incredible—vivid fruit juices, teas, and herbal blends. The fruit tea, especially, was overflowing with fresh, colorful fruit and looked more luxurious than anything I’d ever seen.
“But I couldn’t help it~”
“Still, thanks for going all out,” Vannabelle said warmly, offering a small smile to Numelin before continuing to hand out drinks.
Once nearly everyone had a glass, Vannabelle poured a particularly lavish fruit tea into a cup, then called out to me.
“…Here. This one’s for you.”
“…Oh, uh, thanks,” I replied, surprised not only that she’d noticed me looking but also by the awkward yet genuine smile she gave me.
“And hey, we brought in some great sweets from all over. If you can’t finish them, take some home with you.”
Though her tone was nonchalant, Vannabelle quickly turned her face away, clearly a bit embarrassed. Still, it wasn’t hard to tell she wasn’t upset; she was simply being considerate, aware of how little I could eat. That thoughtfulness left me quietly impressed.
“Hey, Vannabelle, did you come up with all this?”
“I’m the class representative, after all. I wanted to honor everyone’s courage and effort,” Vannabelle replied to Alfe’s question, nodding as she awkwardly scratched the base of her rabbit ears.
“…Well, enough of the stiff talk! First, eat and drink! Just so you know, tonight’s dinner is going to be just as grand.”
The news brought a wave of surprise and gratitude from the students.
“Belle’s favorite milk chicken is also all-you-can-eat~!”
“Y-you didn’t need to share that!” Vannabelle retorted, her face flushing as she tried to hush Numelin.
Numelin nodded cheerfully, unfazed, then pointed with her gaze to Gide, who was raising his hand with a knowing look.
“What is it, Gide?”
“At the very least, we should have a toast.”
“Good idea, Gide!”
“Vannabelle, can you lead the toast?” the classmates chimed in, clapping in agreement.
“R-Right…”
Clearing her throat, Vannabelle moved to the teacher’s podium. After taking a moment to look at everyone, she raised her glass high.
“Alright, then. To Class F’s bravery and victory—”
“Cheers!”
As the class chorused the toast, a shower of flower petals suddenly began cascading through the air like snow, filling the room with magic and delight.
“W-what’s going on!?”
“ “Just a small token of celebration,” ” chimed Lili-Lulu in unison, spinning gracefully as they answered.
