“Well, Izuna, how are you… holding… What!?”

After seeing the mountain of firewood stacked before her eyes, Elenore shouted in surprise. The huge quantity of firewood had all been neatly cut into 4 and stacked. But why was she so surprised?

“Oh, Elenore. As you ordered I finished chopping all of them.”

“N-No wait, a-all of them you say… You mean you chopped all of them in less than half a day…? That huge amount…?”

She kept moving her gaze between the stack of logs and me. I never been to the countryside before, nor have I chopped wood. Did I overdo it?

Chopping that much wood takes a considerable amount of strength. I can manage it because I am used to labor, but even I couldn’t have finished that stack so fast. I was expecting she would only get through maybe half of it.

“HAHAHAHAHAHA! I didn’t think you had it in you Izuna! Good job! You’ve done this much work already. You must be starving right? Let’s have our meal together.”

I won’t deny that. I am hungry. No reason to refuse her.

As I was having my meal with Elenore, she started asking me some questions.

“So, where exactly do you come from, Izuna?”

“I… can’t remember.”

I can’t tell her that I’m from another world. She’ll think I’m crazy. And until I can figure out what I want to do, I need a roof under my head.

“Tell me what do you know about geography, then.”

Trick question. I can’t assume this world is exactly like Astral Storm Online. If I don’t pick a careful answer I’ll only appear more and more suspicious.

“Well this farm is out on an open field. If you follow the road you’ll get to a small town. And further north should be a few more villages.”

“Wait wait! Hold on a minute!”

Did I say something wrong? I literally just said a few stuff I overheard when the knights brought me here.

“Can you talk at a higher level please? You know, countries and continents.”

I just got here. Even if by chance this world has the same layout as the game, I don’t know in which part of the world I am.

“Could you possibly… not know what this country is…?”

Well I guess my only lifeline now is to keep playing dumb.

“You mean a place that has a Royal Palace?”

“Not that! The name! THE NAME!”

Silence flowed.

“I didn’t think you would be like this… wherever you came from… you must have been a real sheltered kid. What kind of parent would even allow such a thing?”

She started mumbling alone. Then she stood up straight.

“Listen up! I’m going to drill you with the necessary knowledge for a person from now on! And if you refuse to learn, you can kiss your meals goodbye!”

Scary. It feels like she’s my mom.

“There’s no need to get so worked up…”

“How can I not get worked up? I can’t just leave a child like this!”

Does she see me as a kid. I’m actually older than I look. But this is turning into my advantage. Knowledge was a big part of my success in the game. All those hours devoted into the story, skills, possible combinations… only by analysing each of them was I able to stand at the top. So… this is a good thing. But I can’t help but wonder…

“Hey, Elenore, don’t you and your husband have kids of your own?”

Cough… cough…

Oi. What kind a reaction is that!? She almost choked herself. I quickly offer her a glass of water. And once again for a while silence flowed.

“This farm… is our child. My husband is gone almost each day and only returns at night, or the next day. And we returns, he usually is too tired to… well you know.”

I get it. Last night before going to sleep I did see Elenore in rather sexy sleeping wear. But since the walls aren’t that thick… I heard them. Last night she wanted to have sex but Marcus said his back hurts so nothing happened. Even now as I look at her, she’s fidgeting and is slightly rubbing her legs. She’s probably sexually frustrated.

“But yeah… I like children and I would want one of my own but… with the farm and all it wouldn’t be appropriate.”

“Do you love your husband?”

“That is… of course. I mean he isn’t perfect… but I wanted a steady life so… when he offered me to live here with him… I guess you can call it a form of love.”

She turned around as if thinking about something. Ugh… that a̲s̲s̲ is so appealing. I can’t believe Marcus. How can you be tired of something like that? Should I… nono… what am I thinking? But… this is another world. That doesn’t mean that the morals and laws back in Japan apply here. But still… going as far as r̲a̲p̲e̲… would be too much… Wait! It isn’t considered r̲a̲p̲e̲ if both parties consent. If I were to test my new unique skills on her… maybe she would actually beg for my c̲o̲c̲k̲ on her own. And I’ll finally lose my virginity! I’ve decided. I have to play my cards right. But no matter what, I will have sex with Elenore!

As I was giggling by myself Elenore slammed 3 books on the table.

“We don’t have many books here since we don’t read, but we do have a small bookcase with general knowledge books. I’m going to go through all of them with you!”

Yikes. Scary. I’m used to teaching others but… I don’t like this reverse situation. And Elenore looks scary.

“But what about the work?”

“You finished all your work already, remember? As for me, I have around 3 hours until it’s the right time for my next chore. So get ready!”

First she opened a map.

The names were the same as in Astral Storm. But the layout was completely different. In this world there are 5 races: humans, demi-humans, elves, dwarves and mazoku. And the world was divided as follows. First there were the 5 human kingdoms: Zirconia Empire, Kingdom of Magnolia, Hestyia, Kaedia and the Principality of Aurora. Then there were the tribes of Gisla far in the north, also known as the dwarves’ land. Elvenheim was pretty self explanatory. It was the country of the High Elves. Darkwood Kingdom was the home of the Dark Elves.

In the game’s lore, elves were once a single race, but some decided to go on a different path. During an incident a powerful energy surge was released. The elven Queen ordered the elves to stay away but there was a group that tried to stop the surge and save their homes. Their skin turned dark because of that and were banished. Eventually they formed a nation of their own far far away.

And finally the Kingdom of Abyssia. The place were the Demon King rules. Many think that the Demon King is the source of all evil. But in the game eventually you are given a quest that proves the contrary. The game’s main plotline is that creatures from a different dimension are attacking the world. An event like this is known as an Astral Storm. When an Astral Storm occurs, you have to face waves of vicious monsters and hold them back protecting the innocent people. Each wave has a boss. Killing the boss is the fastest way to end the wave, but getting there was a challenge. Well, regardless, that was the idea of the game in simple terms.

After Elenore taught me the layout of the world she had me memorize the major capitals. She also told me our location. We were near the south of Magnolia. Elenore was a harsh teacher. Eventually we stopped.

“Okay. That should cover basic geography. Let’s leave other stuff for another time. I have to go and milk the cows now.”

“Hey… Elenore, since you said I finished my share of chores for today, do you mind if I go exploring for a bit?”

“I don’t mind. Just make sure not to wander too far. There’s a forest near by and there are many goblins and wolves. So I would avoid that. They don’t come out of it though, so if you stay on the plains it should be okay.”

“Great. Thanks. I’ll see you a bit later then.”

I’ve been waiting for this for quite some time now. It’s time to test my powers!
