“No way!”

By the time I got there, the house was burning from all corners. It was a massive fire. The guards weren’t even trying to put it out. They just kept saying it’s too big.

“Miss, please keep your distance. It’s dangerous!”

“Shut up! That’s my home! Tell me, did anyone come out?”

“Eh… no! Isn’t this place empty?”

I left Elenore and Tia with the guards and I jumped over their heads and dashed right in the burning house.

“Levia! Levia! Answer me if your still here! Cough cough!”

Ugh. The air is so bad. I can hardly breathe. Come on, Levia, where are you? I started running around and made my way from room to room. Until I found her lying face down on the floor unconscious.

“Don’t worry, Levia. I’m here now. It will be…”

But as soon as I turned her around… all my hopes… all the light in my eyes vanished.

“She’s been there for quite a long time. The house might collapse any minute now!”

“Wait! I see a figure. She’s coming out!”

Elenore and Tia were happy when they saw me. But the moment they saw the state Levia was in, all their smiles turned into terror. I looked completely emotionless. And the reason for this was… Levia’s chest was cut open and her heart was missing. This fire wasn’t an accident. It was made on purpose. I’m so angry right now, I feel like I could kill anyone that crosses my path.

Levia didn’t deserve this. At the same time while everyone was looking at me, I raised my eyes and looked at everyone gathered. There was one. One guard that didn’t looked shocked, sad or down. One guard displayed a smile in the back. I carefully hand Levia over to Elenore. And in the next moment, my right hand was gripping the guards’ neck.

“Where you the one behind this?”

“What, are you crazy, b̲i̲t̲c̲h̲!? Release me or… guaahh!

I tightened my grip. If I wanted to I can crush his neck like a toothpick.

“If you value your pathetic life, speak now or else…”

I released a huge amount of bloodlust. The remaining guards were so scared of my pressure that they couldn’t move at all.

“Okay okay! It was an order… from chairman Bernstein. Because you insulted the nobles… he told me to gather some men and torch your house.”

“And Levia? My maid?”

“She…She got in our way… the mercenaries… cut out her heart as a trophy. But I swear, we didn’t intend to kill…”

I didn’t let him finish. I snapped his neck and threw him away. The other guards didn’t dare come near me. If they would even try, they would all be dead. Those f̲u̲c̲k̲i̲n̲g̲ nobles. What’s up with these humans? Are they that evil and corrupt? Who gives a s̲h̲i̲t̲ about their noble blood? I’m mad! I’m gonna kill him! I’m gonna kill every last one of them!

“Izuna!”

Tia wrapped her hands around my waist.

“I know you’re angry. I know that. I’m angry too. But you can’t go killing.”

“Levia didn’t deserve this! It’s my fault! I can’t just let this slide. I will avenge her!”

“No. You need to think straight! If you do that, you’ll turn all of Magnolia against you! Levia wouldn’t want this!”

“She would have wanted to live! Nobody deserves a death like this. I’ll murder the entire kingdom if I have too!! Let go of me!”

“No. Listen, even if it’s you, you can’t fight an army. They still have tricks and various weapons up their sleeves. You can’t!”

For a moment I stopped. I tried to think. Tia… might be right. If they have other monster like Ars Nova under their control or various weapons that weren’t in the game… I would be at a disadvantage. F̲u̲c̲k̲! This is all… this is all my fault. It’s all because of me!

Cries

I fell on my knees and started crying. I couldn’t stop myself. I was shacking all over. Why was I so sad. It feels like thousands of needles are penetrating my heart.

Yet why? I only knew Levia for around 2 days. You could say we were strangers. I didn’t get to know her. I didn’t know anything about her. Her favorite food, her hobbies… nothing. I’m a grown up man yet I’m suffering this much.

It’s because she was close to me. It’s because she was a personal servant. Someone I treated as a friend. It hurts… my heart hurts so much. This is… all because I was too weak. What I need… what I want is power! Power so great that nobody would ever think to challenge me. What I need now most than anything is to prevent losing another person like Levia. This kingdom has betrayed my trust. It can go f̲u̲c̲k̲ itself.

Why? Why? Why can’t the people of this world show kindness? Is it really that hard? Is that superiority feeling really that important for them? I can share my own kindness and gentleness… but if people outright reject it and want to make an enemy out of me… then I can only react with bloodshed.

“Tia… thank you. We’re going to give Levia a proper burial and then… we’re leaving this kingdom. We’ll be going to… Hestyia.”

That’s right. For starters I can only follow what the female knight told me. I need to try and find this hermit. I need to get stronger. When I’ll reach the point that nobody can challenge me anymore, I’ll come back and destroy every noble. I’ll pull out their hearts just like they did with Levia. I will never forget this. I promise you, Levia. One day, I will get revenge for you.

After a few hours the guards dissipated. The house fell down from the fire. It got totally destroyed. Almost all our money was lost too. But losing Levia was the biggest hit for me. It really took a toll on my nerves. We paid for a proper funeral for her. I swore to myself that when I get stronger, I will come back with my head held high and declare to Levia that I got her revenge.

I’m leaving everything behind. We packed everything we had left, bought a pair of Galleons and were preparing to leave the city. I didn’t say goodbye to Iris or anyone. I just want to leave this sorrow and corrupt place for now. Elenore and Tia both didn’t say anything to me. They knew I was too angry right now. As for those f̲u̲c̲k̲i̲n̲g̲ nobles… enjoy this moment while you can. Believe you won. But know this… when I come back in this city, you all shall receive my judgement!
