Me and Elenore finally reached the royal capital of Magnolia. The grand city of Apollonia. Big stone walls surrounded the town entrance. They can’t even be compared to the paper thin walls of the town I started in. When we reached the entrance we were stopped. There were 2 soldiers in fancy armor, around lvl 30 and equipped with long spears.

“Stop! Who are you and where did you come from?”

“Eh?”

“Answer!”

“Even if you say that…”

I hesitated. What am I even supposed to say? That I come from Japan? You won’t believe me anyway buddy. Maybe I should just let Elenore handle this.

“Why aren’t you answering? And you have really strange clothes. You’re really suspicious!”

What!? You’re judging me based on my clothes? That’s a false charge. It’s discrimination! Elenore is getting flustered. This is starting to get annoying. I started cracking my fingers. Guess I’ll just knock them out.

“Seize…”

“Wait! Look at that!”

One of them stopped the other and pointed towards my waist. I also looked over. It was the fan the princess gave me.

“You mean this?”

“The Royal Crest! And a fan on top of it. That means…”

“Her Highness Iris’s personal belonging!? For Her Highness to bestow that upon this woman. Oi, let us test it. We need to make sure it isn’t stolen or some fake.”

I had nothing against that but… how the hell do you test a fan? The soldier held the fan upwards and chanted something. In the next moment, the fan started to glow.

“It’s true! If this was stolen the spell enchanted would have broken. It’s the real deal. Please excuse us!”

“You may enter!”

These guys sure changed their attitude. I’m kinda disappointed though. I wanted to knock them out. But I guess I can’t solve everything with violence. We passed through the gates.

“Seriously Izuna, you almost looked like you wanted to fight them!”

“You can’t call it a fight if it’s just one sided.”

“You can’t do stuff like that!”

Moving on, Apollonia was a town that had a warm climate and received blessings of the river.

The residents look kind and cheerful, and because it was so comfortable, the number of adventures that settled down here was big. Plenty of markets and merchants. It’s much more beautiful than any game graphics. Heck, this place even had a sewer system.

There was no mistake that it was a convenient, warm, and a beautiful city.

The outer wall, that was made of stone, was in an octagon shape. The canal, where water was pulled out from the river, ran across the city. It also streamed to the center of the town, making a shape that looked like the town was divided into parts.

The wall and moat were the the towns’ protection against the waves and wild animals. The people in the town seemed busy and happy. It was pleasant to see there was no racial discrimination here, even though they tried to discriminate me, kek. Humans, demi-humans, elves and dwarves. The only races I couldn’t see where genuine dark elves and mazoku.

And then, there was the castle. Honestly it was very beautiful. Was it made with concrete instead of stone? Did they discover concrete here? The design was really what you would expect from a fantasy castle. It looked similar to the beautiful castles in Austria I saw on Google pictures. It was surrounded by a moat, so there was a bridge to get inside the inner court.

The guards at the palace made a similar scene like the ones at the town entrance. But thanks to the fan and a bit of words from Elenore, they let us pass. Some official guy wearing a white robe came to guide us around. We were promised an audience with the king. I really hope it’s gonna get smooth. I’m not used to dealing with crowds like this. Give us our money and let’s be on our way.

We advanced along a hallway. The hallway was decorated with paintings and statues. Normally you would think that there would be both men and women but… surprisingly enough it was either a nature painting or paintings and statues of naked women. Yup, you heard it right. Nude girls with really big b̲o̲o̲b̲s̲. Was this the king’s taste? Is this some form of primitive fap material? I won’t blame him though. My mind is still that of a man, so looking at these feels really pleasant.

The old man that guided us spoke as we moved along.

“Normally you would have to wait several days for an audience with the king. But given you have Her Highness’s fan, I am sure that the king will see you today to hear your story.”

“That’s nice.”

I just said what crossed my mind.

“Ladies, normally a formal meeting like this would take place in the audience room for a relaxed atmosphere, but His Highness is very busy, so I hope you don’t mind that the meeting will take place in the throne room.”

“These are trivial things. I don’t care that much about location.”

The old man giggled as if satisfied by my answer.

“Until the king is ready to meet you, we shall provide you a room to rest in.”

Eh!? If we gotta wait, I don’t wanna stay locked up in some room. I want to explore this place a bit. While moving forward I couldn’t help not notice that across a corridor there was a young woman sitting at a table. And looking out the window. On that table there was a chessboard displayed with the white pawn already making its opening move.

It doesn’t seem like she has a partner. And she has nice b̲o̲o̲b̲s̲. Although I played shogi quite often I didn’t try my hand at regular chess. I suppose it’s better to pass the time like that. Maybe I can play with her. So… I ended up sneaking away.

When the old man turned behind.

“Umm… excuse me, but what happened to the other lady?”

Elenore who was confused plainly said:

“What are you talking about? She’s right…”

But as she turned her head around… the place where Izunahime’s silhouette was supposed to be… was empty.

“Eee!? Where the hell did that girl go this time!?”
