Mira’s first plan had been to enter the castle as a regular customer, but could not figure out how to search for her target inside.

Then she met Sally, the new hire at Miracle Heaven, who solved that issue by giving her the opportunity to enter the castle as an escort instead. That was also more convenient as she no longer had to pay for a room.

Now she just needed to go in, see the King, verify that he was August, and apprehend him.

“Just wait for me…”

If her hunch was wrong… There was no room for that possibility in Mira’s mind.

After Iris had been pushed to the point of fearing all men, and Sally’s account of her colleague’s experience, Mira just wanted to go and give him a piece of her mind. All of that drove her to speed up, soon reaching the castle’s reception.

Just like she had seen others do, she held up Sally’s card, which instantly made the receptionist’s face sour.

“I see, so you’re today’s newbie…”

He believed Mira was new prey for the King. That was especially hard to stomach seeing how young she looked, but there was nothing he could do about it.

The King was a paying client, and an influential figure in the city. The receptionist could not possibly tell her to turn around and escape, limiting himself to say, “Trust your colleagues if anything happens,” and gave her the directions to the King Room.

“Mhm, got… Umm, thank you, for everything.”

Mira silently reminded herself that she was a newly hired escort, and had to act accordingly, so she tried to change her speech pattern a bit to behave more like a regular girl.

Then again, she had never cared about her manners before, so her attempt at talking normally instead went a bit too far, instead making her look like she was trying too hard to act cute.

Her appearance was also plenty cute, so there was not much of a mismatch, and the receptionist did not suspect anything.

With the first hurdle cleared, Mira passed through and made her way towards the lodging rooms.

(Heh heh, who would’ve thought I also have a talent for acting!)

There was a large mirror just in front of the lodging rooms, where Mira stopped and began practicing a few sexy poses, trying to get into the groove of being an escort.

She was about to enter an area filled with professional escorts and clients with discerning eyes. She had to be careful not to be found out. That was a scary prospect, but she was satisfied with her own sexiness, so she could not suppress a proud smile as she continued moving.

“Now this place is breathtaking…”

The reception hall was a beautiful place, but the lodging area was furnished with more luxury, truly making it fit for a king’s abode.

The furniture alone looked like it cost a fortune, while the walls, floor, and even the ceiling were no different from those found in a palace. It certainly was the perfect place to house the King, and Mira began to approve his taste when picking the location.

And then she remembered he was just a hopeless pervert.

(Okay, and then I’m supposed to get on an elevator.)

While taken aback by the luxury of the whole place, Mira continued steadily through the corridor.

Even a high class inn was overshadowed by this place, built to such high standards that it almost resembled a royal castle, with one difference. Specifically, the type of people standing around.

In a royal castle, there would be guards, knights, and maids everywhere. There was always something to do for them, even in corridors, but here Mira could not see any. But that also made sense considering the type of place this was. Things could get incredibly awkward if there was some official watching over everything nearby.

Having been in Arkite’s castle and Nirvana’s palace, Mira could clearly notice that difference as she looked around.

There were only a couple of women in the long corridor, who were likely…or rather, definitely were escorts who were called to render their services there as well. Judging that, Mira began observing them more attentively, trying to learn a bit more how to behave like an escort.

(They’re all so sexy…I can’t get enough of them!)

All of those women displayed their charms without restraint, wearing revealing clothes, their glamorous skin on full display, while leaving just enough to the imagination. As Mira thoroughly enjoyed that sight, she remembered something.

(Oh, I almost forgot. I need to change too.)

The short skirted yukata from Sally was still in its bag. Luckily Mira had heard that there was a changing room inside the castle too.

Mira still looked like a plain country girl, cute, but nothing about her looked like the other escorts.

Looking around, she could not find any changing room nearby. Instead she spotted the elevator she was meant to take, and an information sign next to it with the layout of the building, showing a changing room just in front of the King Room.

Mira decided it would be more practical to just change on the way, so she went to the elevator.

(It smells so good here…)

A few other escorts bunched up around her as they waited for the elevator to arrive. They were all wearing some sort of floral perfume, which wafted all around Mira. It was not overdone either, being more refined as it gently passed through her nostrils.

That also reminded her of something else. She had made sure to perfect her appearance, while giving zero thought to her smell.

On top of that, everything she did throughout the day began replaying in her mind. She had been on the way the entire time, walking through the city out in the sunny open, so she built up quite a bit of sweat. And she had not changed yet.

(…Could it be…am I stinking?!)

No one had commented on it, but it was also not the type of thing people usually said aloud. Mira knew that much, and continued worrying about it as she stepped into the elevator with the other escorts.

Inside, she kept herself to a corner away from the rest, discreetly checking herself.

(Hmm…I don’t think it’s too bad…)

She sniffed her armpits and did not pick up on any bad odors, though picking up on one’s own scent is not that easy. And Mira was particularly self conscious about that, getting quite hurt if someone told her she stunk.

(Oh, I almost forgot.)

As the elevator began to move, she realized she had not yet pressed the button for her floor. Elevators were another technology fully developed by former players, so Mira was familiar with how to control them.

She could tell the elevator would stop at the third and fourth floor, where the more reasonably priced rooms were located. Relatively speaking, as everything in the castle was expensive.

Mira pushed her way between the escorts and raised her arm to press the King Room button, which would take her to the top floor where the King was.

There was an immediate reaction. All of the escorts present turned their heads in unison, staring straight at Mira.

(Wh-What did I do?!)

Mira staggered back, her mind instantly jumping to the worst conclusion.

(Am I…am I actually stinking?!)

That had been her most recent worry, and it would justify such a strong reaction from women given how close they were, all of their eyes focused on her. As part of her began to die a little inside, she saw there was a far simpler explanation.

“Are you…going to see the King..?”
“I’ve never seen you before, are you new..? Actually I’m sorry, forget I said anything.”
“So another new one agreed to come…I’m really sorry, but there’s nothing we can do at this point…”

Their initial shock softened into pity, as they tried to comfort and encourage her, and then they left the elevator at the third and fourth floors.

It was not Mira’s scent that had attracted their attention, it was the fact that she had pressed the button for the top floor. It was common knowledge amongst the escorts that the King had a dozen or so girls he favored, which he would rotate through every day.

All of them knew that, so when they saw an unknown girl press the top floor button in the elevator, they knew exactly what that meant. Someone new would fall victim to the King.

But there was nothing they could do about it. With the strong influence the King had on the city, if they got on his bad side, they would never find work there again. Though as far as Mira went, that did not matter at all.

“Hmm…well, I guess that means there’s no problem.”

Mira took the reaction from the escorts to mean there was no discernible stink to point out. Just in case, she took the final moments in the elevator alone to wipe herself clean, and stepped out fully believing there was no smell to worry about.

The top floor of Camelot Palace looked exactly like one would imagine a King Room to be. A red carpet stretched out from the elevator across the corridor, and Mira quickly spotted the changing room she had read about, and hastily ran into it.

(There’s no one else…)

The changing room was empty. That was a bit of a let down for Mira, who began undressing to put on the short skirted yukata.

Since it was Sally’s attire, it did not quite fit Mira as intended, hanging down too low. But just as Sally had claimed, it was a size free outfit, and after finagling with its straps a little, she quickly adjusted it to fit herself better.

“Ohhh, now this is something else…wait no, it might be a bit too short…okay, there, that’s perfect to show my true beauty!”
