In the middle of the living room, I waited to greet Misaki at the room entrance.
I considered opening the door and going, ‘*Ta-dah!*’ but I got too shy and couldn’t do it. I waited for Misaki to open the door and come inside.
「*Huh*? Miyu, why are you wearing an apron…」
Coming inside, Misaki looked at me with a confused expression.
*’It’s because you told me that apron on uniform looks cute on me,’* was something I couldn’t admit, so I just lowered my head.
However, I raised my face and made a smile.
「Welcome back, you’re pretty late?」
「Yeah, I ate at Macs1 with Ruka just now…」
Misaki’s words just passed through my ears at first.
A moment later, I realized what she said. The smile on my face turned frozen stiff.
From what I know, Misaki has never eaten out with a friend before. Because of that, I didn’t even consider the possibility of her doing so.
「I see.」
With a curt reply, I turned around, took off the apron, and hung it on the hook beside the kitchen entrance.
While retrieving my bag sitting on the sofa, I spoke.
「I prepared some food, but you’re already full for today, aren’t you? There’s a hamburger steak in the refrigerator, it might be better if you move it to the freezer. Oh, feel free to dispose of it if you won’t eat it. Also, I’ve cooked rice, too, so that goes to the freezer, I suppose.」

「Welcome back, you’re pretty late?」
「Yeah, I ate at Macs2 with Ruka just now…」
Misaki’s words just passed through my ears at first.
A moment later, I realized what she said. The smile on my face turned frozen stiff.
From what I know, Misaki has never eaten out with a friend before. Because of that, I didn’t even consider the possibility of her doing so.

I passed by Misaki as I finished speaking and headed straight for the apartment entrance.
「Miyu!」
I hear Misaki’s voice next to me.
I ignore her and continue walking.
「Wait, Miyu!」
My upper arm was grabbed from behind.
Stopped on my tracks, I turned around.
「What?」
「T-that’s… I-I’m sorry…」
「Why are you apologizing?」
「I mean, Miyu, you made dinner and waited for me, didn’t you?」
「Don’t worry about it. I did it on my own volition. Sorry for being such a busybody.」
I started walking again, but my arm is stuck.
Misaki had a tight hold on my wrist and wouldn’t let go.
「I’m going home. Can you let go?」
「N-no way, not while you’re still angry…」
「I’m not really angry or anything.」
「You’re absolutely angry.」
I thought I was being surprisingly calm.
But with Misaki insisting that I’m angry, emotions started boiling at the pit of my stomach. I glared at Misaki in response.
「Then why were you doing things that would make me angry? Deliberately getting close with someone else.」
*Ahhh*, I really didn’t want to say it, but I can’t stop it any more.
Misaki’s eyes swim. I quietly stare directly at her.
「I-it wasn’t really deliberate; I just, *uhh*, couldn’t decline her invitation.」
「So you’d agree to any invitation?」
「’Any’… It was just a meal outside.」
「But you’ve never done that before, haven’t you?」
Misaki casts her eyes down; she pouts her lips, sulking.
「If you told me that you were making dinner today…」
「That’s true. It’s my fault making food on my own when I wasn’t even asked to.」
「That’s not what I mean!」
Misaki grabbed my other arm, too. I likely won’t be able to leave unless she releases me.
「Misaki, you said that you love me, didn’t you? Then why? Aren’t your actions contraditing your own words?」
「That’s… I didn’t do it because I wanted to. She just invited me…」
「Really? Just that?」
「… I-I deliberately wanted to show that we’re friends to get Miyu’s attention…」
She immediately folded.
It was exactly as I expected; it’s almost a letdown.
The seething rage in my head has cooled down somewhat. Still, I don’t understand the gall she must have to go with a plan that she’s incapable of doing.
「Then, what were you planning to do?」
「I’d say that it was all a lie, and that I’m completely devoted to Miyu…」
「You say ‘lie,’ but you’re still actually flirting with someone else, aren’t you?」
Misaki fell silent.
No, don’t go silent now.
「B-but you did a similar thing yesterday, didn’t you?! To me!」
「I do admit that I was in the wrong there. But was I flirting with someone else? Did I drop by somewhere else with them? Did I eat outside with them?」
Misaki fell silent again.
While the situation is different, she’s so weak at arguing. She can’t even fight back.
I see, so this is revenge for yesterday?
Finally, her actions are making sense to me. Still, I didn’t think she’d take revenge for that.
I’m astounded, but on my part, I did carry out that prank on a whim too, so I’m not any better. And I do feel bad about it.
And so I decided to give her a fair chance.
「So, how did you plan on ending it?」
「T-that’s…. A-A make-up kiss!」
…
This is making my head hurt.
Suddenly, a make-up kiss with no other explanation.
… *Ah*.
That’s what I did, too, *huh*.
Still, *make-up kiss*—I really hesitate to agree when it’s described in such a dumb-sounding way.
「Alright then. Do your make-up kiss.」
Depending on how well she does it, I might reconsider my verdict.
Rather, if you were going to do it, just do it already. At least be as assertive as I was. In my opinion, the instant we got into an argument, this plan was already a failure.
I gently pulled away Misaki’s hands, put my bag on the floor, and turned my whole body to face Misaki.
I fold my arms in an imposing stance.
「Come; if you’re going to do it, do it already.」
「M-Miyu’s face is scary…」
Who are you calling a Niō statue3?
Well, with me glaring right at her like some gatekeeper, I guess it’s normal to be intimidated.
I’ll close my eyes, then. And raise my chin a bit.
Even after waiting for a while, nothing happened.
As time passes, I start to get more irritated.
After apologizing hard as she’s scolded by a girl for not being able to refuse some other girl’s invitation, now she chickens out when given an opportunity to make things right. If she were a man, Misaki would be a spineless coward. Isn’t it great that you’re a girl, Misaki-chan?
Eventually, something soft touched my lips and immediately separated.
Opening my eyes, Misaki was looking at me with anxiety in her eyes.
「I’m sorry, Miyu. Could you forgive me?」
She took so long, and this was all she had to show?
A timid little peck?
Clumsy, lacking, and unsatisfying.
However, Misaki was the one who did it.
Misaki, by her own initiative, kissed me for the first time.
Suddenly, all my anger melted away.
I held myself back from grinning, made a serious face, and stared straight at Misaki unflinchingly. Misaki had the eyes of an abandoned puppy.
Adorable. There’s no way I’d abandon you because of a small mistake.
All forgiven. I just want to praise her for doing well, pat her on the head, and hold her tight.
… *Eh*, wait a moment.
Am I perhaps… easy to please?
Forgiving her with just this—isn’t that crazy?
After being so threatening, I don’t think that’s good.
If I’m too soft, she’ll look down on me. Not good for her education.
「Absolutely no good. What was that? Were you even trying?」
My mouth speaks of words completely different from what’s in my head.
Misaki gets flustered.
「W-wait, wait! That was bad; give me one more chance!」
「No more chances.」
No more kissing today. If she does it again, I’ll have burst into a wide grin.
「T-then let me ask instead, what can I do to make you forgive me?」
Misaki looks up to me in supplication.
In other words, she’ll do anything to make me forgive her?
*Hmm*, nice. That sounds *really* nice.
Without letting my thoughts leak out, I then firmly commanded Misaki with a cold expression.
And so our chapter ends with Misaki once again losing the initiative and Miyu dominating the field! Misaki, maybe you really aren’t built to wear the pants in a relationship…
Now then, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. Please feel free to comment. Actually, do comment. Reading comments rejuvenate my youth and nourishes my garden. Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a nice week~!

This has become such a mess again, but somehow Miyu is getting the best of this situation. While Misaki has been a bit dense, I appreciate how she was quick to take ownership of her mistake and apologize, even though she was still playing ignorant until she inevitably folded. On Miyu’s side, I felt really bad when Misaki said what she said. *What do you mean you went out and ate McDonalds with another girl while you still have a complicated relationship with Miyu???* Especially with Miyu trying her best to be honest and romantic. Now you got her back into sadistic mode. It’s also funny how easy Miyu is underneath the domineering… well, not quite facade. She’s really infatuated with Misaki and is playing the ‘calm and controlled’ as hard as she can.
