Seeing the grave expression on Yae-hime’s face, Mylene couldn’t help but ask worriedly: “Sis, is the problem that serious?” By now, they had already figured out why the giant ants had invaded the hotel. The real issue lay with that droplet of crystalline liquid floating in midair.

Who did it belong to, and how had it ended up inside that bucket? If they couldn’t get to the bottom of it, the consequences could be severe. There was no telling whether those giant ants would come charging back again.

“The situation is pretty serious. If my guess is correct, there should be an Insectman behind those giant ants. And that Insectman may belong to some terrifying organization.” Yae-hime said.

“Ah… it’s really that serious?” Mylene exclaimed in surprise. With her level of clearance, she only knew some of the world’s hidden secrets. Information beyond that was reserved for people at much higher levels.

Pixie remained silent, her gaze fixed on Yae-hime the entire time. The secrets she knew weren’t any greater than Mylene’s.

“Mm. That organization is even more formidable than either of you can imagine.” Although the future had already changed considerably, certain things that were destined to exist remained unchanged. Yae-hime certainly didn’t believe those insects would refrain from emerging in the future to wreak havoc.

“It feels like the world has changed so much overnight,” Pixie said with a sigh. Whether it was the appearance of Princess, the Nine Cauldrons soaring across the sky, the transformations occurring throughout the world, or the matter of the insects… All of it had descended upon humanity before anyone had even had time to react.

Ten days ago, Pixie had still considered herself quite powerful. But now? Not only was she far inferior to Yae-hime, even Mylene could easily defeat her without breaking a sweat. And that gap would only continue to grow wider in the future! The thought left her feeling somewhat dejected.

“It’ll continue changing from here on,” Yae-hime said.

“Sis, what exactly will our world become in the future?” Mylene asked curiously.

“Probably something similar to what it was thousands of years ago, with spiritual energy filling every corner of the world.” Yae-hime smiled faintly.

“That’s impossible.” Thinking she was joking, Pixie shook her head.

“If it really became like that, it’d be wonderful.” Mylene smiled as well, a trace of anticipation appearing on her face.

“Let’s not talk about that for now.” Yae-hime turned her attention to the droplet of crystalline liquid suspended in the air. “We’ve already figured out why the ants attacked this place. However, I still haven’t found the owner of this liquid. So we can’t let our guard down yet.”

The moment they thought about the possibility of giant ants and an Insectman attacking again, Mylene and Pixie immediately became tense. Yae-hime said nothing and simply stared at the floating droplet.

She eliminated all external factors and decided to start by investigating the people inside the hotel. Because the Rosen Hotel had temporarily and arbitrarily suspended operations, there were currently no guests staying inside. If she narrowed the timeframe down to after nightfall, more than half of the staff could be ruled out immediately.

The first group Yae-hime considered was the kitchen staff. Even at night, there would usually be at least ten people working in the kitchen. In addition, there might be two or three servers on duty. Any one of those dozen or so people could potentially be the owner of the liquid.

“I think Princess is very likely one of the prodigies who came out of the Kun Ruins.” Pixie spoke with a serious expression.
“I don’t think so.” Mylene shook her head.

She knew far more about Yae-hime than Pixie did. With only a little reasoning, she could completely dismiss that speculation. There were simply too many inconsistencies.

First of all, she lacked much of the common knowledge possessed by cultivators. Secondly, she was obviously far stronger than the legendary prodigies of the Kun Ruins. And lastly, she didn’t even know what the Kun Ruins or Mount Kun were!

Could an elite who came from the Kun Ruins possibly lack basic cultivation knowledge? Could they not even know the name of the place they came from? Furthermore, when Yae-hime had confronted her grandfather at the Rosen Hotel, no guardian had appeared to protect her.

Everything that happened afterward further proved that Yae-hime had no powerful backing whatsoever!

While they were talking, they arrived at the lobby and took up position facing the hotel’s automatic entrance doors. Through the glass, only the blurry night scenery outside could be seen.

At this moment, Yae-hime finally arrived at the top floor. She didn’t have a key to any of the suites, but she easily unlocked the door with her aura and stepped inside.

“Even electronic locks are useless if they’re unlocked from the inside.” After closing the door behind her, she smiled faintly. Then she began sensing the auras around her. Very quickly, she located Rakshasa’s position.
