Shalwina was clearly happy to be there too, answering with just as much energy.
They slowly went deeper into it, testing the waters while also deepening their connection.
In the end, they recited, “And the night was over, and another night began,” in unison, smiling while holding hands.
At that moment their friendship deepened, becoming best friends..

“Sooo what other books do you like, Shalwina?!”

Iris was starting to cling onto Shalwina so much that it was almost as if she completely forgot about Mira.

“Let me think… Hmm, well…lately I’ve been reading a lot of romance, especially the works of Miro Ring, I really like how everything is written with crystal clear expressions.”

Since there was no one like that in Valhalla either, Shalwina also had plenty to talk about.

“I know what you mean! I really like how everything seems to sparkle too!”
“Exactly! I love all of them, but I always had the feeling that Yellow Sky had a really abrupt ending.”
“Huh? But if you read the sequel Azure Meteor Shower…wait, have you not read it yet?”
“Huh? There’s a sequel?! Ughh… There’s almost no way to buy things in Valhalla, I always have to wait for traveling merchants to wander in randomly if I want something, so I didn’t know there’s a sequel…!”

Who would have thought that the story she liked so much but found unfinished, had a continuation? That truth left her devastated for not hearing of that before, while glad that there was more to read.

“Ah, I actually have it in my library upstairs, so you can read it if you want. I have a lot of other books too! ”

As Iris suggested that, Shalwina smiled like never before as she instantly replied, “Yes please!”

“Alright, Shalwina, please watch over Iris, and read in moderation. Iris, look after Shalwina too, sometimes she stays up all night reading if she’s not careful.”

Before she left to Meditorea’s entertainment district to find August, Mira made sure to reiterate Shalwina’s mission, before she forgot about everything but the library. And she also told Iris to be watchful.

Mira had summoned her with the hopes that they could become friends on top of keeping Iris safe, but it seemed like Shalwina was getting carried away far more than Mira anticipated.
She almost felt like Shalwina was a very excited child she was leaving with relatives, awaiting a field trip.

“Leave it to me!”
“Don’t worry!”

Iris and Shalwina replied readily. “I’ll be going then,” said Mira as she began walking away, stopping to wave at them a distance away.
By then the two girls were already rushing upstairs, to the library. They really could not wait to get there.
Realizing they were not even looking at her, Mira lowered her hand and rushed out.

Meditorea was in the south side of the Ark Continent, and further west relative to Nirvana.
First Mira dropped by Alma’s room, and then left, quite late in the night, flying away.
Aboard her wagon, carried by Garuda, she plotted how to best capture August.

He was one of the leaders of Ira Muerte, one of the biggest criminal organizations in the continent. It was best to count with him being considerably skilled too.
On top of that, she could not forget that they also did business with Chimera Clauzen in the past. Garroba had threatened to use a Spirit Bomb, so there was a high likelihood August also had similar weapons.

“Detonating a Spirit Bomb within a city isn’t something to joke about…”

Whether it was a Spirit Bomb, some other weapon imbued with spirit power, or something else entirely, they were the kind of people to use prohibited weapons without a second thought. They even would stoop so low as to turn all the people in a city into their shield.
Those were all things Mira had to consider as she concocted a plan.

Time went on, the next day starting, and Mira fell asleep while thinking of her plan. When she woke up, she sluggishly went to look out of the window.
Outside, a vast meadow illuminated by the morning sun greeted her.

“Ohh…what a sparkling morning.”

Through drowsy eyes she saw a vibrant scene with lush grass and clear blue skies, and a city standing in the horizon. That was Meditorea.
Garuda had brought her all the way there in a single night, all the way from Nirvana’s capital.
And not only was the trip complete, Garuda had put down the wagon in an inconspicuous spot.

Mira found Garuda outside, right next to the wagon. Garuda had even gone as far as to stand watch until then.

“You did well, Garuda. You can rest now, thank you.”

Being able to sleep a decent amount, and waking up only a short walk away from her goal, meant that Mira was full of energy for the day ahead. But first she thanked Garuda with a huge pile of meat she had bought before.

“Good good, you like that? I’m glad.”

Garuda looked delighted with the meat, in no small part because it had come directly from Mira, but also because it was rather expensive and high quality meat, and it took barely an instant before Garuda had swallowed more than ten kilos of meat.

Mira sent Garuda away after that meal, and she went to resume her morning routine, followed by her own breakfast, a plate of omelet rice she had bought as takeout from a restaurant.

“Being able to go all out so early in the morning truly is a perk of being young.”

Barely any time had passed since she woke up and she was already cleaning a whole plate of omelette rice. The feats of her young body were nothing short of impressive, as she also ate one of the fruits from Martel for dessert.
A plentiful breakfast with a sugary boost from the fruits were also part of her preparation for her mission that day.

“Now then, I wouldn’t want to be recognized.”

She could not afford to let rumors spread that the Spirit Queen was in town. So she quickly ran into her wagon and began disguising herself.
August knew that the Spirit Queen was the oracle’s new bodyguard, and should be in Nirvana.
If he then heard that the Spirit Queen had left her post and went all the way to Meditorea, and if he realized that Garroba had been captured, he would instantly know what was happening. So it was better for Mira to disguise herself.

Mira tried to remember everything that Theresa from the Magical Knights had done, changing into the clothes she obtained at the time, and attempting to dye her hair black.
That way she would end up looking like a cute country girl, but it did not go as smoothly as with Theresa, her hair ending up with more of a black gradation.
In the end, she ended up having more of a gal style.

“That’s good, it’s all part of looking stylish after all, mhm.”

Mira could not help but give out an excuse, even if there was no one to hear her as she looked at the mirror.
Either way, no one would ever think of her as the Spirit Queen at first sight, so it would work just as well.
She put away all her tools and dye products, closed her wagon, and headed to Meditorea on foot.
