With it being high time for dinner, they decided to settle on a date for everything after they established contact with the other countries, and wrapped up their meeting. Until then, they would have dinner in Iris’ room.
On the way there, they told Kagura a bit more about Iris and her powers, making it clear that they should not reveal any secret information in front of her.

“That sounds like a tricky power to balance, but I understand, I’ll be cautious.”

She could not hear much, not unlike August in Ira Muerte, as he would also learn anything she heard. In the worst case, they would have to cut that source of information, also alerting the other side that something was afoot.

Especially now that Garroba had been captured, they were expecting August to react in some way, and being able to see that was very important.
So Kagura and everyone else was reminded once again to be prudent.
Soon they were at the large metallic gates, and as they opened, one of the group had to go another way. Noin, to be specific.

“Hey, don’t look at me like that, it’s not my fault.”

The oracle’s room was a space beyond the reach of men, leaving Noin glaring resentfully at Mira, who walked through the gate without a second thought.
Kagura just maintained a distance, sighing as she saw how Mira kept teasing Noin.

Having passed through the garden, they went upstairs to the living room, finding Iris and the First Lieutenant attentively watching TV, so entranced that they had she had not noticed their arrival. But the First Lieutenant had, instantly stiffening up like a frog at the sight of a snake.

“Hey Iris, let’s have dinner together.”

Alma spoke naturally, announcing her presence with a smile.

“Ah! Welcome!”

Iris finally noticed the guests, clearly surprised to see four people there, while also smiling happily. Her shock only increased though.
Kagura, forgetting about everything in her surroundings, made a beeline…straight at the First Lieutenant.

“Awww, it’s the little lieutenant! It’s been so longgg!”
“Mrrowww! Help! Why wasn’t I informed that Kagura would be commming!”

The First Lieutenant’s very existence was Kagura’s biggest weakness, as she was extremely fond of cats.
Her violent reaction to seeing him left him trapped in her arms, the sign he carried changing to a big “S.O.S!”
But no one seemed to react, they all knew that there was no stopping Kagura once she became like that.

“Umm…hello..?”

Only Iris found the courage to attempt talking to Kagura, taking a deep breath to add “Nice to meet you, I’m Iris!” introducing herself with an energetic attitude.

“Hm? Ah, sorry, I’m…Uzume.”

Seeing that pure and innocent smile was too much, even for Kagura, her burning desires quenched as she intermittently introduced herself, and the First Lieutenant slipped out from her arms.
Something about her words seemed to confuse Iris, who frowned, slowly tilting her head.

“Uzume..? But I thought the First Lieutenant just referred to you as Kagura…”

Iris had not missed the First Lieutenant’s desperate plea for help, which included Kagura’s true name.

“Ah…”

Her cover had been blown unexpectedly, and things only kept getting worse.

“Kagura…I feel like I’ve heard that name somewhere…”

She mumbled the name over and over, deep in thought, until her eyes snapped open, filled with shock and expectation.

“Kagura! One of the Nine Wisemen! Is that you?!”

That small blunder was enough for Iris to make the connection and deduce that this stranger was Kagura of the Seven Stars, one of the Nine Wisemen that was still hiding from the world, who was still waiting before making a public return.
But that was not the main issue.
The worst part was Iris’ power. Soon August would also find out that one of the Nine Wisemen was collaborating with Nirvana.

“Ahh, err…”

Kagura hesitated, nervously turning around, while Alma and Esmeralda just looked at her with a complicated look.

No one knew that Kagura was there, her presence treated as top secret. On top of that, they knew that Ira Muerte would become far more wary if they found out.
The worst part were the potential rumors about Nirvana and Arkite colluding in secret, preparing for war with the Nine Wisemen and Twelve Apostles.

Such bad rumors would lead to even more nastiness, seeding doubt amongst neighboring countries, making it difficult to find collaborators to fight Ira Muerte together.
The Nine Wisemen were still such important figures in this world.

Alma and Esmeralda knew that the most, frowning as they realized the ramifications of their blunder, and they attempted to figure out how to answer Iris.

“Ah…”

Iris was not dense either, realizing their concern. She had uncovered a truth that she, with her set of powers as the oracle, could not possibly know.
Her excitement, the delight to meet a legendary hero from so many stories, it all vanished in an instant, becoming desolate as her shoulders slumped.
And that prompted someone else to speak up.

“Yes, you’re correct. She’s none other than Kagura of the Seven Stars, one of Arkite’s Nine Wisemen!”
