“Has the winner been decided?” Seeing Mylene’s punch slam squarely into Avelora, Pixie couldn’t help but ask.

“……” Yae-hime remained silent, the uneasiness in her heart growing stronger by the second. She had a persistent feeling that this battle would not end here. Perhaps Avelora still had one final trump card.

Of course, her anxiety stemmed even more from the future. During those three years, Yae-hime had never once encountered Mylene. Even during that first and final war, she had never seen her appear. In other words, there was a high chance that Mylene had met with some kind of disaster long before then.

Or perhaps…

“I still don’t know your name.” At that moment, Avelora’s voice rang out, interrupting Yae-hime’s thoughts. Her voice was soft and carried a trace of weakness. Even her expression revealed unmistakable exhaustion.

“Mylene.” Maintaining her punching stance, ready to exert more force, Mylene calmly answered.

“You’re very strong. Without question, you’re the strongest member of the Tian family. I accept my defeat wholeheartedly.” Avelora smiled faintly. There was not the slightest trace of dejection or unwillingness one would expect from the loser.

“Are you surrendering?” Mylene asked in confusion. The strength in her fist unconsciously eased considerably.

At that very moment, Avelora seized the fist buried in her abdomen with one hand while her other hand shot out like lightning and grabbed Mylene’s shoulder.

“Surrender? That was never an option. From the moment our duel to the death began, only one of us was destined to survive… or we would both die together! Although I regret failing to kill Ronald, killing his most promising granddaughter instead… Making him suffer until his dying breath in the little time he has left will be a fitting revenge!”

As the rapid words left her lips, her silver eyes turned blood-red, and her twisted face radiated a bone-piercing, sinister chill.

Immediately afterward, freezing energy erupted violently from her body, rapidly sealing herself inside solid ice. Finally, that frigid energy spread from Mylene’s fist and shoulder, gradually freezing her as well.

“Mylene, finish her immediately!” Just as Mylene gathered all her strength to break free, she heard Yae-hime shout. Her voice was filled with undisguised urgency.

Without the slightest hesitation, Mylene concentrated every ounce of her strength into the fist that had already been encased in ice and unleashed it all in a single explosive burst.

A dull explosion echoed out. Immediately afterward, twenty-four concentric ripples erupted behind Avelora’s back. Each wave was fiercer than the last, the violent shockwaves shattering the ice covering the ground and sending tremors through the very air.

This was the ultimate killing move Mylene had prepared for Avelora earlier, and its destructive power was astonishing. Yet even after taking the full force of that devastating attack, with her internal organs churning as though the seas had been overturned, Avelora smiled. It was a wicked, bewitching smile.

“Let’s go to hell together, Mylene!”

If someone could have seen through her body, they would have discovered that the Ability Core within her was trembling violently as it rapidly expanded, as though it would explode at any moment.

She intended to self-destruct!

An eighteen-year-old girl, who had only just reached adulthood, was about to commit such a horrifying act solely to avenge her grandfather. It was madness beyond reason.

Yet Avelora never considered herself insane. Inside her mind, only the voice of vengeance echoed endlessly. Ever since she was very, very young, that voice had tormented her ceaselessly, beating within her mind as relentlessly as a heartbeat.

It was her grandfather’s voice. It was the Silver Wolf’s voice. As his successor, she had to exact revenge. Otherwise, she would never be free. Now, at long last, she could finally be free. No one could stop her from attaining that release!

There was only one second left before her Ability Core exploded. By then, all that remained unfrozen on Avelora’s body was half of her head.

Across from her, Mylene had already been frozen solid from the neck down, making it impossible for her to escape the tragedy that was about to unfold. It was the first time she had ever faced death head-on. That sinister, icy coldness threatened to freeze even her soul solid. It was unbearable. The agony was beyond words. The sorrow was so overwhelming it tore at her heart.

‘I don’t want to die. I haven’t even gotten to live together with Brother and Sister yet. I don’t want to die!’ Crystal-clear tears streamed down her cheeks as Mylene summoned every last bit of strength to struggle desperately.

Sadly, before the freezing power that Avelora had unleashed at the cost of her own life, her resistance seemed so pitiful, so heartbreakingly futile. A brutal death was about to descend. No one could stop it. No one…

“Have you had enough?” Suddenly, both of them heard a crisp voice tinged with a hint of displeasure. The next instant, an emerald-green needle pierced Avelora’s forehead. It was as though time had frozen at that very moment.

Inside Avelora’s body, however, violent turmoil raged. Her power of ice was being frantically suppressed by a surge of life energy that had invaded her body. Even resisting was utterly futile, let alone continuing her self-destruction.

A few seconds later, her crystalline Ability Core stabilized once more. A layer of emerald-green life energy had wrapped itself around its surface. Avelora could clearly feel that her abilities had been completely sealed!

“That was close. A little later, and I’d have had no choice but to kill you.” Yae-hime spoke in a calm, indifferent tone.

To ordinary people, Avelora’s self-destruction was indeed impossible to stop. But could someone who possessed Flash and the Heretical Seven Needles be considered ordinary?

At such a perilous moment, she had not only prevented Avelora from dying but had even saved her life. It was nothing short of miraculous, utterly beyond imagination.

Pixie was stunned. Mylene was stunned. They had already fallen into complete despair. Avelora was equally stunned. She had detonated herself with the resolve to perish together with her enemy. Yet the incomparably beautiful girl before her had effortlessly neutralized everything with a casual gesture! Had she not experienced it firsthand, she would never have believed it.

“A duel is just a duel. Why did it have to end with both of you trying to kill each other?” Yae-hime shook her head gently. She then extended a slender finger, dispelling the ice encasing both Mylene and Avelora.

Without the continued output from the Ability Core, the ice was nothing more than ordinary ice.

“Big Sister!” Mylene withdrew her fist and threw her petite body into Yae-hime’s embrace. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried out. Only she knew just how terrifying those few seconds had truly been. She never wanted to experience that absolute despair a second time.

Yae-hime wrapped one arm around Mylene while her other hand flashed across Avelora’s body several times, sealing away her ability to move.

“No matter why you chose to self-destruct, attempting to harm my little sister is a crime that can only be repaid with your body.” Retracting her hand, Yae-hime spoke coldly. Had she not come along today, Mylene would have had absolutely no chance of surviving.

Logically, she should have eliminated such a dangerous individual immediately to prevent any future trouble. But she did no such thing.

‘Just now, I sensed a soul aura within Avelora that didn’t belong to her. It was filled with venom and hatred… Heh, how interesting. This is worth studying.’ The truth was that Yae-hime had developed a tremendous interest in Avelora’s body.

Meeting those eyes, which carried a faint trace of ill intent, Avelora was instantly overwhelmed by an ominous premonition. Remaining alive might prove even more unbearable than dying!

“From this day onward, Silver Wolf is dead. As Avelora, you will live properly for me.” With those words, Yae-hime pressed a pale, jade-like finger against Avelora’s smooth forehead.

Her world was instantly swallowed by endless darkness. Avelora completely lost consciousness.
