“Holy Light… cannot… harm… the undying… immortal… as long as one is a believer… no one can defeat them…” Having uttered those words through his fading consciousness, Tongulas finally lost consciousness and collapsed.
Among all the wounded present, he had suffered the gravest injuries. The fact that he had managed to hold on until now before passing out was already remarkable.
Hearing those words, Bishop Gurant’s face instantly turned deathly pale, and his heart trembled. As a bishop, how could he not know how terrifying a true divine messenger was?
The problem was that in this era, a genuine divine envoy should not exist. Yet how else was he supposed to explain what had happened to his subordinates? If he refused to believe it, he could not explain the situation before him. If he believed it, the implications were simply too horrifying.
At this point, the only option left was to verify it personally.
(No. The bigger matter comes first. The bigger matter comes first!)
Remembering the promise he had made to Richard, Gurant hurriedly dismissed the thought of going to Aoma Village. “Forget it. I’ll deal with that impostor another day.” After muttering softly to himself, he turned and walked away.
Until he figured out the other party’s true background, there was no way Gurant would personally put himself in danger. Once the grand plan succeeded, he could simply have Richard send people to eliminate that fellow. Wouldn’t that be perfect?
(I’m a highly respected bishop. How could I possibly do the work of a hired thug?)
With a cold snort in his heart, Gurant lengthened his stride and walked away even faster. The others stared blankly at his departing figure. Hadn’t he been overflowing with killing intent just moments ago?
Time flew by, and night soon descended. Inside the City of Chaos, Yae-hime lay on her bed and logged out of the game. Her penalty time had finally ended. It was time to find her younger sister, Mylene, and make some necessary preparations.
“Master, you’re awake.” The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Vera 1 approaching her.
“Nothing unusual happened on Aqua Blue Star, right?”
“Master, everything has been normal,” Vera 1 replied.
“That’s good.” Yae-hime rose from the bed and stretched lazily.
“Master, dinner is already prepared,” Vera 1 added.
“No need. You all go ahead and eat. I still need to head out later.” Yae-hime shook her head.
“Understood, Master. Then we’ll start dinner first.” Vera 1 bowed slightly. After speaking, she turned and headed toward the dining hall.
Yae-hime climbed out of bed, changed into a black dress, tied her hair into a ponytail, then put on a black baseball cap before leaving the unfinished building. Ten minutes later, she appeared at the entrance of the Rosen Hotel.
“It feels unusually quiet.” This should have been peak dinner hours, yet she could not see a single guest entering or leaving. In fact, she did not even see any staff members around.
Just as Yae-hime was puzzling over the situation, the automatic doors suddenly slid open, and a lovely figure practically skipped out toward her. “Princess, welcome~” The newcomer was none other than Nangong Lin.
Like Yae-hime, she was dressed in a black dress. Her silky shoulder-length hair accentuated her fair neck and alluring collarbones, making them especially eye-catching.
“What’s the occasion today? Why aren’t there any guests?” Yae-hime asked as she walked over.
“It’s not any special occasion.” Nangong Lin gently shook her head. “Mylene is going to duel someone tonight. I wanted her to have a quiet environment to calm herself and adjust her condition, so I closed the hotel for the evening.”
“Thank you for going through all that trouble.” Hearing this, Yae-hime patted her shoulder and spoke softly.
“It-It’s nothing. Mylene is Princess’ little sister, which means she’s my little sister too…” Nangong Lin said in a quiet voice. A faint blush had already appeared on her face.
Listening to those words, Yae-hime felt a strange sense of confusion.
(How did my little sister become your little sister too? That’s a rather odd relationship…)
“Let’s not talk about that anymore. The food is ready, so let’s go upstairs!” Nangong Lin suddenly urged. As she spoke, she gently tugged at Yae-hime’s hand.
Just as she was about to wrap her arms around that jade-like arm, a dark figure suddenly came hurtling toward them.
The shadow’s speed was not particularly fast. With Yae-hime’s strength, she could have dodged it several times over. Yet she remained completely still, allowing the dark figure to pounce on her.
The moment Nangong Lin caught sight of the newcomer from the corner of her eye, her heart skipped a beat.
(When did this little vixen come downstairs!?)
After receiving Yae-hime’s message, she had quietly come down to wait in advance. Logically speaking, the others should not have noticed her at all. And yet…
“Rakshasa.” As the dark figure crashed into her embrace, Yae-hime called out her name.
Under the lights, the blonde girl’s lovely face lit up with joy and excitement. She wrapped her arms tightly around Yae-hime, holding her as though she wanted to merge their bodies into one, leaving not even the slightest gap between them.
Although it had not been long since their last meeting, and they could normally stay in contact through their phones or the game’s communication channels, Rakshasa still felt as though they had been separated for ages.
“……” Her lips parted as she wanted to call Yae-hime’s name and pour out all the longing she had been carrying. Yet not a single word could make its way past her throat.
As if sensing something, Yae-hime gently patted her back before pulling her into a one-armed embrace. The next moment, tears welled up in Rakshasa’s eyes, and her emotions threatened to overflow.
Watching this scene, Nangong Lin felt both envy and a slight pang of bitterness.
(I was here first. Clearly, I was here first…)
Only after Rakshasa finally calmed down did the three of them enter the hotel. Yae-hime walked in the middle, with Nangong Lin and Rakshasa on either side, each holding one of her jade-like arms.
Inside the elevator, the two girls glared at each other, neither willing to back down. An invisible spark of confrontation seemed to crackle between them. As for Yae-hime, she pretended not to notice. Situations like this were something she truly had no talent for handling.
As soon as they arrived at the penthouse suite on the top floor, several people were already waiting outside the door. Looking at those familiar faces, Yae-hime suddenly felt as though a lifetime had passed.
Perhaps it was because she had been too busy recently. It simply felt like it had been a very long time since everyone had gathered together like this.
“Princess!”
“Princess!”
“Princess!”
Outside the door, Yunuen, Pixie, Sachiel, and Little Fairy called out in unison, their voices filled with undisguised happiness.
“Big Sis!” From the other side, Mylene poked her head out from the suite’s entrance and called excitedly. Had Pixie and the others not been blocking the hallway, she would have already thrown herself forward in a flying tackle.
After chatting briefly, the group happily returned to the suite and began enjoying the lavish dinner that had been prepared.
As the star of the evening, Mylene appeared especially cheerful, as though the upcoming duel was the last thing on her mind. However, Yae-hime could tell that it was merely an act. She simply did not want everyone else to worry. That was why she appeared so carefree.
Dinner did not last very long. Once everyone had eaten their fill, the gathering quickly came to an end. Because they all knew that Yae-hime still needed to make some preparations for Mylene before the duel.
Inside the room, Mylene looked visibly uncomfortable, and her face was as red as the evening sunset.
“S-Sis, do I really have to take everything off?” She stole a glance at Yae-hime and asked nervously.
“Yes. I’m going to perform a thorough examination. It won’t work unless you remove everything.” Yae-hime answered with a serious expression. Her pupils gradually turned emerald green, while rich life energy flowed from her body.
“O-Okay…” Clenching her teeth, Mylene decided to go all in. After all, the other person was her sister. It wasn’t as though she’d lose a piece of flesh from being seen. Pushing aside the embarrassment in her heart, she quickly removed her clothes.
