The night sky glittered with scattered stars. Waves crashed violently against the jagged reefs while the pitch-black ocean gaped like the maw of a colossal beast, as though it meant to swallow the entire deserted island whole.
The wind howled fiercely, and dark clouds crept across the sky, gradually veiling the half-lit moon.
Then, in an instant, a flash of white light tore through the darkness, and a graceful figure descended upon the island.
“Just a few more minutes, and I can bring the City of Chaos over.” Opening her interface, Yae-hime fixed her gaze on the countdown displayed there and murmured softly.
In the outside world, Little Blue had already returned to the white control chamber.
With both hands pressed firmly against the console, her blue hair streamed wildly as countless particles of light drifted around her, her eyes flickering with an intense azure glow.
In the next moment, every Aqua Blue Star furnishing and object within the city vanished, temporarily anchored within the void. On top of the unfinished building, the Vera clones had long since halted their work and gathered outside, raising their heads to stare upward.
In the pitch-black, unfathomably deep night sky, something seemed to be trembling.
“Even now, I still find it hard to believe that this city came from a game world,” Vera 1 said softly.
“But in reality, a floating city like this simply doesn’t exist,” Vera 18 replied calmly.
“Living in the City of Chaos always feels like a dream,” Vera 17 added.
Vera 2 nodded in agreement.
“Now is the moment to witness a miracle,” Vera 3 said in an even tone. Yet her eyes shone with unmistakable anticipation.
Although they had already witnessed countless unbelievable things within the City of Chaos, none of them compared to the city itself. After all, this was a supreme treasure capable of traversing between worlds!
Inside the control room, Little Blue stared intently at the silver sphere before her, wholly focused as she waited for Yae-hime’s summons. Time ticked by, second after second. Five minutes later, on the deserted island, Yae-hime finally began to summon the City of Chaos.
“It’s here!” Almost at the same instant, the silver sphere flashed, and Little Blue’s eyes sharpened as she pressed her small hands firmly onto the console. “City of Chaos, depart!”
The moment she finished speaking, the City of Chaos was engulfed in a dense mass of black energy. Only then did the Vera clones below clearly see the enormous entity suspended high in midair. It was the very city they had been living in all along!
At that moment, the surrounding space trembled violently, and a powerful surge of spatial force spread outward. In the next instant, the massive, pitch-black entity flickered and vanished without a trace. What remained was a strange yet powerful ripple, expanding at incredible speed across the entire globe.
“Opening the gate to that world once more will only hasten the awakening.”
At the very instant the City of Chaos disappeared, within that mysterious white space, a pale girl whose features could not be discerned sat upon a throne in the void and spoke. Her voice was ethereal and distant, as if drifting from an immeasurable expanse.
“What on earth is happening?!” Within Cathay’s sacred land, Kun Ruins, an elderly man with the bearing of an immortal, his hair streaked with gray, clutched his whisk and cried out, his face drained of color.
At this very moment, he could clearly feel the world undergoing a drastic transformation! This was a sign of upheaval between heaven and earth! Evidently, the changes unfolding across this planet had already surpassed the calculations of his master.
It was utterly unbelievable, utterly staggering. But what followed shocked him even more. Without the slightest warning, the entirety of Cathay was suddenly engulfed in flashing lightning, roaring thunder, howling winds, and trembling earth, as if the end of the world had arrived.
Just as people were gripped by shock and fear, nine colossal ancient bronze cauldrons materialized across the sky. A vast, primordial power surged forth from them, forcefully suppressing all the chaotic upheavals.
“The Nine Cauldrons!” Lisa stood atop her company’s rooftop, staring at the nine bronze cauldrons suspended in the heavens as she let out a cry of astonishment. Never before had she felt such overwhelming shock.
For those nine ancient cauldrons were none other than the legendary Nine Cauldrons that anchored the dragon veins of the Nine Provinces. True national treasures beyond compare!
Now, after being lost for ages, the Nine Cauldrons had appeared in the sky in such a form, what exactly did this signify?
Amid her shock, Lisa was filled with confusion. With a complicated expression, she stared intently at the Nine Cauldrons in the night sky, then suddenly murmured, “They’re not real… just projections…”
Nine bronze cauldrons radiating such overwhelming primordial might, and yet they were merely projections. How could anyone possibly believe it!?
“An immortal artifact has emerged! An immortal artifact has emerged!” Within Kun Ruins, the old Daoist stared into the sky and shouted like a madman. It was clear just how overwhelmed with excitement he was.
As if responding to the appearance of the Nine Cauldrons, the ocean surrounding the Vatican overseas once again turned blood-red. Not only that, the blood-colored seawater began to bubble as though the entire ocean itself were boiling.
In the depths of the Pacific Ocean, a massive whirlpool suddenly formed, while countless waterspouts raged wildly across the surrounding sea, tearing through the waves in chaotic fury.
At the very bottom of that vortex, the faint silhouette of a colossal entity could be seen lurking in the darkness.
In the southern sea region, upon Doom Island… a beautiful butterfly-like girl slowly opened her eyes, a flicker of surprise passing across her face before she spoke, “The ancient… is awakening…”
As that strange fluctuation spread outward, abnormalities began erupting across every corner of the world. It made people wonder whether the end of the world had truly arrived.
Completely unaware of the turmoil beyond, Yae-hime stood upon the deserted island, quietly waiting for the arrival of the City of Chaos. She did not have to wait long. The instant she felt space tremble, a pitch-black city appeared above her.
Unlike its departure, its descent was astonishingly steady. It was as though it had been suspended there from the very beginning. For Yae-hime, the quieter the arrival of the City of Chaos, the better. After all, she had chosen this place precisely to avoid attracting Richard’s attention.
At that moment, in the guest room of the village chief’s house, Lili—who had been sitting by the bed waiting for Yae-hime—suddenly sprang to her feet and looked toward the direction of the deserted island.
Zerene, lying on the bed, opened her eyes as well and swiftly got up.
In the entire Aoma Village, only the two of them had sensed this unusual spatial disturbance. Exchanging a glance, the two girls nodded in perfect unison, then leapt out of the window and dashed toward the deserted island at full speed.
“Good. A fluctuation of this level won’t reach Jade City,” Yae-hime said with satisfaction. Then, as white light enveloped her body, she vanished in an instant.
“Master!” The moment Yae-hime appeared atop the City of Chaos, a small, adorable figure threw her arms around her neck. It was Little Blue. “I brought the City of Chaos over nice and smoothly!” She beamed, her voice full of pride.
“Mm, you did very well.” Yae-hime pulled Little Blue into an embrace and praised her.
“Hehe, I want lots of rewards!”
“Alright, alright. I’ll make you plenty of delicious food tomorrow,” Yae-hime said with a smile, gently pinching her cheek.
“Master is the best… Master, two very powerful auras are approaching at high speed!” Mid-sentence, Little Blue’s expression abruptly changed.
Hearing this, Yae-hime looked into the distance. She could faintly sense two familiar presences and replied, “It’s fine. They’re allies.”
“I see.” Little Blue withdrew her gaze, loosened her grip, and then sat lightly on Yae-hime’s shoulder.
Yae-hime patted her little head. “Bring them over.”
“Okay!”
In the next instant, Lili and Zerene suddenly felt an unusual spatial force envelop them. Zerene was just about to resist when Lili stopped her.
“That’s Little Hime’s city.” Although Lili had never seen the City of Chaos with her own eyes, she had heard Alicia describe it before. This pitch-black city could only be the City of Chaos that Yae-hime had taken from beneath the imperial palace.
With a swift whoosh, the two vanished from above the sea.
“Welcome to my city, Lili, Zerene.”
The moment they reappeared, they were greeted by Yae-hime’s radiant smile.
