“Ahhh!” Nizeyan let out a miserable scream. Over ten thousand years of honing his power, he had slaughtered countless foes and survived endless life-and-death trials. There was no wound he had not endured before. Yet ever since he had ascended to the level of a Supreme God, he had never felt such terror from a single strike.
The body of a Supreme God possessed astonishing regenerative power. For male Supreme Gods in particular, their physiques were even more formidable. Severed limbs, even a head, could be reattached so long as divine power was expended. And yet, Lily’s slash filled him with a fear he had not felt since his days as a mortal.
“What kind of power is this? My wound… it won’t heal!” Nizeyan panicked and retreated at full speed.
Nizeyan had once come from a remote, barbaric island far across the vast seas, distant from Akitsu Shima, a place the Heian Dynasty called the Nanban Island. He had been born a black slave, yet possessed extraordinary talent. After rebelling and killing his master to seize his freedom, he had wandered as a fugitive. By chance, he obtained an exotic method of training, and through perilous voyages across the endless ocean, he entered a foreign pocket world similar to the Hekiraku Realm. There, through both luck and innate talent, he absorbed and monopolized the world’s resources and essence, ultimately ascending to become a Supreme God.
Ordinarily, a small world like the Hekiraku Realm could only sustain a single Supreme God. Relying solely on such a world, it was nearly impossible for a second to arise. Only by venturing into the greater worlds, traversing the Three Realms, or plundering the essence and treasures of other hidden realms could one achieve such a feat.
Figures like Taira no Furaku and Lord Shikikai had risen in this way. Lord Shikikai had ventured through Yomi-no-kuni to become a Supreme God. Back when Tsukikage-hime still lived, he had fled the Hekiraku Realm early and escaped into Yomi, otherwise he would have been killed long ago.
Nizeyan’s current power was the result of countless coincidences. He knew nothing of the Lunar Force.
Lily, however, understood that although his training path was unconventional, it still belonged to the path of Yomi. Channeling her Silver Lunar Force, her strike had inflicted a wound he could not easily recover from.
Blood poured from Nizeyan without end, his divine power draining away continuously. He no longer dared to approach Lily recklessly. Lily did not pursue him. Instead, she turned and charged straight toward Marusaburo.
The Oborozuki Soul was in the hands of the Kegaretsu Clan!
Lily moved far too quickly. With no guards able to intercept her, Marusaburo could not even react. Though he was a Supreme God, he clearly lacked experience in close combat, having always relied on treasures and abilities to kill his enemies from afar.
“Dammit!” A pale-brown ancient wooden hammer appeared in Marusaburo’s hand. In the past, he had used this very hammer to beat Celestial Maidens to death when they defied him.
He swung the ancient hammer at Lily just as he would when brutalizing those maidens.
Lily’s senses were razor-sharp. The moment she felt the hammer, she detected the bloodstains upon it, mingled with the resentment of countless Celestial Maidens.
Who knew how many had been beaten to death by this weapon? A surge of fury ignited within her. “You deserve to die!” She could have easily dodged, yet she chose not to. His close combat skill was a complete joke.
Lily leapt into the air and delivered a fierce kick straight into the hammer! That kick carried enough force to topple even Ame-no-Tajikarao! The hammer was blasted backward by her overwhelming strength.
It slammed into Marusaburo’s head. Though his technique was crude, his body’s defense was formidable. Even so, the wooden hammer shattered upon impact. This had been a top-tier spirit artifact.
Marusaburo was left dazed, blood streaming down his face.
“Ahhh! It hurts! It hurts! You wretch! How dare you strike me! Do you even know who I am?!” Marusaburo summoned a long whip, barbed and drenched in the blood of countless Celestial Maidens. Retreating as he moved, he lashed it toward Lily.
“Go!” With a flick of her hand, Lily released a silver ribbon of crescent moonlight. As it spiraled with her wrist, it shot forward and instantly entangled the whip, the two weapons pulled taut.
With a violent tug, Lily surged forward toward Marusaburo. Her blade cut clean through the thick arm he had once used to torment and kill countless maidens. Then, she drove a kick into his chest, sending him flying.
“Aaaaah! My arm! You dare cut off my arm!” Marusaburo screamed as he was blasted backward, attempting to regenerate the wound. But he couldn’t. “What’s going on?! Father said a Supreme God’s body could heal any wound! Why?! Why isn’t it working?! Nizeyan, what are you doing, you brute? Come save me!”
Watching Marusaburo spiral away in a spray of blood, Nizeyan originally intended to unleash his various exotic techniques against Lily. But the wound in his chest throbbed with unbearable pain. Seeing the silver glow of her blade and recalling her flawless swordsmanship, he hesitated.
Then, without another word, he turned and fled. Burning divine power, he sped toward the depths of the Celestial Demon Path at full speed.
“What?! Nizeyan, you dare abandon your master and run?! You slave! You dare betray me? Ahh, my arm!” Marusaburo howled as blood continued to gush from his severed limb.
What Marusaburo did not know was that this was far from Nizeyan’s first betrayal. Lily cast a cold glance at the fleeing figure but did not pursue. Instead, her divine power surged as she pressed the attack toward Marusaburo.
“Wait! You useless trash, stop her!” Marusaburo shouted at his remaining subordinates. Those few Empyrean Stage experts had no hope of keeping up with a Supreme God’s battle, yet they had no choice but to charge forward.
Each wielded spirit treasures or magical artifacts, attacking Lily from all directions.
“Get lost!” Lily withdrew her ribbon. As she continued her pursuit of Marusaburo, the ribbon spiraled inward, gathering and compressing until it transformed into a swirling blood-red vortex.
The vortex burst apart, splitting into multiple crimson sword rays, each streaking toward an Empyrean god.
They were too fast. Even a Supreme God might fail to track them in a blink. For ordinary Empyreans, there was no time to react.
In an instant, every crimson ray struck true, piercing straight through each god’s Blood-Jade Soul Crystal. They did not even have time to register shock. Still locked in their charge toward Lily, their bodies lost all life, collapsing mid-motion. All of them died.
“What?!” This time, Marusaburo was truly terrified. This woman… slaughtered Empyrean Stage gods as easily as chickens? “How is this possible?! What the hell is going on?!”
These guards possessed no divinity. Once struck in a vital point by Lily’s blade, death was absolute.
Marusaburo hurriedly pulled out a crystal-clear emerald fruit. It was a treasure of the Supreme God tier, given to him by his father as a life-saving measure. No matter how severe the injury, it could heal it. Even wounds inflicted by lunar force… it might still be able to restore them.
Marusaburo hesitated, feeling a trace of reluctance. The value of that fruit far exceeded any of his other divine artifacts, and more importantly, it was a one-time life-saving treasure. Once used, it would be gone forever.
Yet it was precisely this fleeting moment of hesitation that cost him dearly. Lily had already closed in. A streak of silver blade light flashed.
Marusaburo’s final remaining hand, stained with the blood and lives of countless Celestial Maidens, was severed.
“No—!!!” he shrieked hysterically. The emerald fruit slipped from his grasp. Lily snatched it instantly, then drove her blade toward his chest. Oborozuki Muramasa pierced straight into Marusaburo’s chest with perfect precision.
A terrifying surge erupted. Lily was violently repelled by an overwhelming force, sent flying back over a hundred meters before she finally steadied herself.
Marusaburo, now armless, thrashed wildly in midair, screaming in madness as he tumbled. Blood gushed endlessly from the wounds in his chest and shoulders. Yet that strike had failed to kill him.
Beyond his status as a Supreme God, something else seemed to be protecting him. This treasure not only guarded final divinity but also reflected incoming attacks. The rebound from that strike had dealt Lily a heavy blow in return.
“Kagami Lily, you think you can kill me? Dream on! My divinity is protected by a Dotsu Artifact! You can’t kill me!” Even as blood sprayed from his body, he turned and fled.
“Trying to run?” There was no way he could match Lily’s speed.
“Stop chasing me! You can’t kill me!” Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Marusaburo spotted Nanako in the distance.
“Right… that girl was the one who threw the parasol to Kagami Lily earlier.” Realization struck him. “If I can’t kill Lily, I’ll kill her companion!”
With a flicker of intent, several filthy orbs shot toward Nanako.
“Eh?” Nanako gasped in alarm.
“Stop!” Lily’s gaze sharpened. She flipped the face of the Sakura Parasol upward and hurled it. The parasol spun rapidly as it expanded, smashing each incoming orb aside. “You dare target my sister!”
A crimson light flooded Lily’s eyes, her killing intent surging even further. She unleashed the full force of her divine power and caught up to Marusaburo, slashing across his back.
He screamed as he tumbled through the air. The overwhelming pain drove him into frenzy. He lashed out wildly, kicking at Lily while unleashing various treasures infused with divine power to attack her.
“You can’t kill me! You can’t kill me!” A Supreme God’s divinity was already extraordinarily resilient. With the added protection of a Dotsu Artifact, even the Oborozuki Muramasa could not break through it, and any attempt risked backlash.
But Lily no longer aimed for the divinity. Instead— One slash. Two slashes. Three slashes! While weaving through and deflecting the barrage of treasures, she delivered relentless, continuous strikes across Marusaburo’s body.
Silver blade light flashed again and again across his mangled, blood-soaked form. Though she could not shatter his divinity in a single blow, each strike infused with Silver Lunar Force drained vast amounts of his divine power.
“Ah! Ah! No…!” Faced with Lily’s flawless and relentless assault, his counterattacks were utterly useless. He could not stop her at all. Gradually, even Marusaburo began to falter. The consumption of his divine power was far too rapid.
Lily’s strikes were simply too brutal. He began to feel death closing in.
“No! No! You can’t kill me… you can’t… do you know who my father is?!” he howled hoarsely through a mouth full of blood.
But Lily’s gaze remained cold. Her resolve to kill had already been set. Without the slightest hesitation, she continued her calm yet relentless barrage, blade after blade carving into his body.
“No…” Marusaburo’s divine power grew weaker and weaker, his consciousness already slipping into a haze. “No… I… you can’t… my father… he won’t let you go… I am… Spare me… please… it was my fault… I…”
A single arc of light from the Oborozuki Muramasa swept through and Marusaburo’s head fell. His divine power was completely exhausted under Lily’s relentless assault, and he died.
Lily showed no hesitation. With a wave of her hand, her divine power swept over his body, collecting his treasures. The corpse suddenly swelled. Startled, Lily quickly retreated.
**Boom!**
The body burst apart into a torrent of foul corruption, splattering outward and corroding the surrounding land. Yet when the corruption subsided, what remained behind was a pure, tea-colored divinity.
