The romantic night of passionate love of Christmas Eve led to…nothing special, as time simply seemed to pass flying by, and then it was already the next day.
“Woahh…it’s so big…”
“Umm, Hinagiku? Are you sure we can stay here?”
“Yes, you can!”
While Miyuki and Subaru could hardly believe their eyes, Hinagiku proudly stood there.
Now, Kou…or rather Amari’s whole Mitsuki family, together with Akane’s Furuya family, Ryunosuke’s Kudo family, Kikyo and Hinagiku, and Kasumi, were all gathered in front of the vacation house, which included a hot springs and ski resort, located down at the southern border of the prefecture.
The building looked like a log house, made of wood with a warm red tone, which contrasted nicely against the white snow, looking like it was a scene out of some foreign country.
But the most striking part was its size. There was the main house, a smaller annex and a public bath, and even a vast garden that was currently buried in snow.
They had been able to reserve it at a special price thanks to mutual friends… But it was clear that it would cost a fortune to stay there normally just by looking at the place.
“I mean, the whole idea of gathering here came from the manager of this place anyway… And oh, speak of the devil.”
As Kikyo spoke, over at the house’s entrance…a married couple had just gotten out to welcome the guests.
“It’s been a while, Amari, Kikyo. Welcome everyone, I’m the current president of Sea Breeze, Kazami Makoto. And this is my wife…”
“Kazami Xinglu, I hope you all enjoy your stay here.”
They were greeted by a gentle-mannered middle aged man, who seemed like the perfect person to address as ‘dear uncle’.
He was accompanied by a similarly kind woman, who appeared to come from the mainland, just like her name.
“Wait, were you the owner of this place then?”
“Hahah… I’m not, this place is owned by a separate couple, we merely manage it. But they’re also part of our old friend group, so we’ve all taken the day off to enjoy our reunion.”
He readjusted his glasses as he replied, opening the door and beckoning everyone to go inside.
They did as told, and inside…
“Woah, there’s a fireplace, it’s so pretty!”
“Ohh…they did arrange this place really nicely.”
Miyuki was the first to get in, pulling Subaru after her, and both admired the place.
There was a huge living room just past the entrance, with a crackling fireplace to warm up the area, which also served as the dining room.
There were multiple couches and tables set up there, and the large windows offered a clear view of the snowy mountains outside.
The ceiling also extended past the second floor, where all guest rooms were located, so that once someone came out they would find themselves in the communal area.
But Kou and her friends would not stay there…
“So…are you sure you and the members of Lua Cheia will be okay staying in the annexed rooms?”
“Yes, it’s only my parents that know those involved here, while I haven’t met most of them before.”
Kou’s parents and their friends had reserved the whole vacation home at a special price, and she did not want to cause a split amongst them by bringing her own friends, so they agreed to stay in a separate set of rooms.
“Alright, if that’s what you want. But feel free to come see us or use any of the facilities whenever you want. Breakfast is served from seven to nine in the morning, and dinner at the same hours in the evening, so drop by the dining table around those times.”
“We’ll go take our things to our rooms now, so we’ll see you later.”
Saying that, Sora and Amari headed upstairs to their room, while President Kazami guided Kou and her friends past the living room, through a corridor to the annexed rooms.
“Psst, dear, President Kazami seems like a really nice person, right?”
“Yeah, he didn’t seem bothered at all that we’re tagging along without knowing any of them, I’m really glad.”
“We’ll have to make sure his kindness isn’t wasted on us.”
The Kudo family began whispering to each other.
As Sara had pointed out, the president had greeted them with the same kind smile as everyone else.
He and his wife had also made sure to carry Sara and Miyuki’s luggage, watching out for the women and girls of the group.
Kou overheard their conversation, and also shared their opinion of them, and shortly after they arrived at the annex.
“Here we are. Feel free to use these three rooms here, and enjoy your stay.”
Saying that, the Kazami couple left.
The living room of the annex was much smaller than the main one, but it was still just as calming, and a little past it were three doors leading to the bedrooms.
The group opened the closest door to them and…
“Woahh it’s so big! And it has such a nice view too!”
“And there’s bunk beds… that seems kinda fun.”
This time it was Hijiri who was surprised, followed by Kou who was more interested in the two bunk beds in the room.
The rooms were quite large, with a loft furnished with a table and a couch too, and large windows giving a panoramic view of the snowy mountains.
“Alright…this looks like a good source point. Rouge, you can come out.”
Kou went up to the loft and placed a device that looked like a circular column on a stand, and powered it on.
That was a custom made bidirectional communication probe made by Sora, creating a direct connection to the Mitsuki household server so Rouge could also come here.
As long as that device was there, Rouge would be able to come out and explore the building, just like at home. It also could communicate with NLDs in a range of tens of kilometers, allowing Rouge to go into Fairy mode and travel with Kou, making that device quite a rare gem.
*”…Sister?”*
“Yes, good morning Rouge. We’ve arrived, so you can come out again.”
*”Ah..?!”*
As soon as the hologram appeared, Rouge noticed the impressive view outside, running up to the window and looking out in amazement. The friends watched her with a warm smile and then began discussing something.
Basically…they needed to decide how to split up the rooms.
After some minutes of deliberation, they came to a decision.
Kou, Hijiri, and Subaru, the three childhood friends, would stay in one room.
Ryunosuke and his family would stay in another.
And the last room would be for Kasumi and Hisui, though knowing them, Kasumi would spend most of her time with Kou’s group, and Hisui with the Kudo family.
Hinagiku was staying together with Kikyo in the main building, and Setsuna would arrive later with her parents, and likely stay with them as well.
“Umm, wouldn’t it be better if I got my own room..?”
The only person who argued with that decision was Subaru, the only boy who had to stay with girls…but Kou and Hijiri did not pay any attention to him.
