“Aurora, what’s wrong with you?” Yae-hime looked at the half-peeking little head and asked, puzzled.
“Princess…” Aurora hesitated for a moment before stepping inside. She walked very slowly, her body trembling faintly, not daring to lift her head. She looked just like a child who had made a mistake and was bracing herself for punishment.
“What exactly is wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Yae-hime tilted her head slightly as she asked.
“Princess, I…” Aurora clutched the hem of her skirt, her moist eyes shimmering as though tears could fall at any moment.
“Does something hurt?” Yae-hime stepped forward and gently stroked her small head.
In the next instant, her pupils turned emerald green as she carried out a thorough examination of Aurora’s body. The result showed nothing at all, Aurora was perfectly healthy.
“Princess, I’ve let you down!” At last, the little girl made up her mind and blurted out what weighed on her heart.
“Huh?” Yae-hime was completely baffled.
“My barrier was too weak… it let your aura leak out…” Aurora continued.
“Hm? No, it didn’t. You did very well.” While treating Allie, Yae-hime hadn’t sensed any aura escaping at all.
“???” Now it was Aurora’s turn to be utterly confused. The gylphs had clearly collapsed, so how could there have been no leakage of aura?!
“She means the impact caused by your breakthrough,” Allie interjected.
“It even blasted through the roof, so it’s only natural the barrier broke,” Lili added casually as she set Zerene down on the bed.
“So that’s actually my fault?” Yae-hime said with a helpless laugh, gently ruffling Aurora’s hair.
Aurora seemed to understand and yet not quite at the same time. But soon, she sensed the difference in Yae-hime at this very moment.
‘Ah… so that’s how it is!’ At last, she understood. The spatial power from earlier had been the very energy Yae-hime released during her breakthrough. ‘So… I didn’t fail your expectations, Princess?’
Aurora clenched her hands tightly, a beautiful smile finally blooming across her face.
“You did very well,” Yae-hime praised.
“Hehe!” Receiving that affirmation, Aurora’s smile grew even brighter, her heart filling with a sweet warmth.
After Allie finished getting dressed, Yae-hime went downstairs with the others to chat, letting Zerene rest properly. As for Yae-hime’s breakthrough, Layna and the others were both shocked and delighted.
“Are you some kind of monster?” Layna circled around Yae-hime once before asking.
“That’s quite rude,” Yae-hime replied, rolling her eyes at her.
Everyone present simply smiled without saying anything.
Time passed quietly in this cheerful atmosphere.
Allie returned to Jade City overnight, choosing not to stay. Lili went back to her guest room to rest, and the others also returned to their own lodgings. Yae-hime, on the other hand, left the village chief’s house alone, preparing for the main event of the night.
“But before that, I should try out the brand-new *Flash*.” Looking at the wall surrounding Aoma Village, she spoke with eager anticipation shining in her eyes. If she could really pass through walls, that would be a huge gain.
Taking a light breath, Yae-hime fixed her gaze on the thick stone wall, her expression gradually tightening. If she slammed into such a wall at Flash speed, it would definitely hurt like hell. Fortunately, it would only hurt and wouldn’t cause any serious damage. That made it worth trying.
After relaxing her body, Yae-hime suddenly moved—whoosh—her entire figure turning into a streak of white light that vanished in an instant. In the next moment, a graceful figure flickered into existence on the other side of the wall.
“It really is teleportation!” Gazing at the scenery beyond, Yae-hime didn’t even need to look back to know she had succeeded. With her mastery of advanced spatial power, her void-type abilities had clearly undergone a qualitative transformation.
Under normal skill progression, Flash would need to reach the level of Instant Flash before it could pass through obstacles. But now, her proficiency had essentially been maxed out in one leap, saving her a great deal of research and practice.
“It can traverse space itself, and the distance has increased significantly… this is a true leap in quality. With this, even if Richard activates his barrier again, he won’t be able to trap me.” Clenching her fist lightly, Yae-hime’s lips curved upward into a faint, pleased smile.
With advanced spatial power at her command, only barriers of ultimate-tier or above could hope to confine her now. Of course, there were still certain special environments she wouldn’t be able to cross.
Leaving Aoma Village, Yae-hime appeared at the dock, gazing into the distance at the quiet, uninhabited island.
“It’s time to bring Little Blue over.” The moment her words fell, she slipped into the void and vanished without a trace. When she appeared again, she was already on the island.
“No wonder it’s an exclusive skill… a 300% Void acceleration is no joke.” Recalling the silky-smooth burst of extreme speed from earlier, Yae-hime couldn’t help but reveal a satisfied smile.
When combined with her various mobility and stealth abilities, her speed could be pushed even further! Feeling the endless surge of power flowing through her body, Yae-hime closed her eyes in delight, a radiant smile blooming across her delicate face.
“✱✱✱1… I’ll settle the score with you when the time comes!” Suddenly, she thought of someone. Her smile froze at once, and when her eyes opened again, a streak of icy blue flickered within them.
By Yae-hime’s estimation, going all out, she was now fully capable of fighting a legion commander head-on. Back then, she had nearly been killed by a single punch from that man, and no matter what, that debt had to be repaid!
The sea breeze swept past, tousling her hair and setting her black robe flapping loudly, flutter-flap in the wind. Brushing her hair aside, Yae-hime lifted her gaze toward the night sky.
Before long, that very place would welcome the arrival of a city.
The night deepened. Feeling that the time was about right, Yae-hime opened the game interface and lightly tapped the logout button. At the same moment, within the City of Chaos. Yae-hime slowly opened her eyes and rose from the bed.2
Thanks to her strength having advanced to a new level, the mental strain she experienced today was almost negligible. At this moment, she remained completely energized.
Leaving her room, she walked into the main hall. Seeing all the little cuties at home working diligently, her heart filled with joy.
“Master!” At that moment, sensing Yae-hime’s presence, Little Blue instantly teleported over and called out cheerfully.
“Anything unusual?” Yae-hime reached out and gently pinched her soft, rosy cheek.
“Nothing unusual. The recovery speed of Aqua Blue Star is still the same,” Little Blue said with a bright smile.
“Any signs of the big bugs?”
“Nope. They seem to have gone quiet for now,” Little Blue shook her head.
“Let’s hope they stay put for the time being.” Compared to those coming out of the Kun Ruins, Yae-hime was clearly more concerned about the insect threat.
“I think it’s better to leave things to the Ability Management Department for now,” Little Blue said.
“Mm.” Yae-hime nodded. Before long, she would be returning to the Saint Demon World with Little Blue. Relying solely on Vera’s clones wouldn’t be enough to handle everything.
“I’ll inform Mylene.” Yae-hime took out her Huawhey phone and quickly dialed Mylene’s number. After giving the necessary instructions, she turned to the five Vera sisters and said softly, “Get some rest. After a late-night meal, we’ll move out.”
Upon hearing this, the five Vera sisters immediately stopped what they were doing and skipped over cheerfully. At the thought of not seeing Little Blue for several days, a faint sense of loneliness welled up within them.
Before long, however, that trace of loneliness was swallowed away along with the food in their stomachs.
After settling the five Vera sisters in the unfinished building, Yae-hime did not return to the City of Chaos. If she logged into the game from there, she would end up appearing mid-air the next time she came back. Although it wouldn’t kill her, the risk of being discovered made her decide it was safer not to.
Lying down on the large bed arranged side by side in the stairwell, Yae-hime closed her eyes and once again entered the game. This time, she intended to summon the City of Chaos on the uninhabited island!
Footnotes:
- Syl: I’m leaving this blank because I’m confused as to who’s she really referring to, the direct translation is “Red Dog (could also be Red B̲i̲t̲c̲h̲),” but from the following context, it seems she’s talking about Blei, but I don’t remember Blei has any sort of nickname or title relating to Red or Dog.
- Syl: Now for a brain teaser, if Yae-hime teleported her real body along with the floating city back into the game, does that mean she can no longer log back out into reality and her death in the game (her-now-reality) would be permanent? She probably would move her body, the Vira clones, and console out of the City of Chaos before she initiated the teleportation right?
