“All right, pain, pain, go away—”

It’s been ten days since I started healing people with healing magic. Today as well, I’m working as usual in front of Felnoute-san’s house.
For the first three days or so, it was fairly quiet—rather easy, actually.
I healed an old grandmother with back pain, a little boy who scraped his knee after falling, and received small amounts of money. I intended the boy’s treatment as a free service, but later his parents came all the way over to pay.
From the fourth day on, customers suddenly increased. Probably the rumors spread, but people started coming with extremely serious cases—like “I lost an arm fighting a monster long ago,” or “I have a severe illness that even doctors and mages have given up, I only have three months left to live.” It surprised me.
I thought regrowing a missing arm or saving someone on the verge of death might be impossible—but when I tried, the arm grew back and the illness was cured. Healing magic is convenient. Reviving the dead is impossible, though.
Since arguing over money would be troublesome, I said, “Pay whatever you like,” and most people left large sums as if they were looking at a goddess. Before I knew it, I’d become fairly wealthy. When I told Felnoute-san how much I currently have, she spat out her tea. It was cold. On my face.
Of course, since I say “whatever you like,” some people leave without paying anything. But that’s preferable to causing disputes, so I don’t mind.

Long story short, I’ve accumulated quite a bit of money, but since I still have nowhere in particular to go, I’m thinking of staying here a while longer.
Felnoute-san also provides blood, which makes this town quite comfortable for me. Napping feels nice here, and perhaps I could even look for someone to support me while I’m at it.

“All right, that’s done. Fighting monsters is fine, but try not to die, okay?”
“Ahhh, how grateful… As expected of a goddess!”
“No, I’m not a goddess.”

I do wear a hood, but I take it off when it gets hot, and at close range, people obviously recognize my face when I use healing magic. I feel bad for wasting Zeno-kun’s thoughtfulness, but before long, not only my skill with healing magic but my face as well became widely known.
As rumors spread, I’ve been called things like “Goddess of the Sea Breeze,” “Silver-Haired Angel,” and “Genius Beautiful Girl Mage Vampy-chan.” I don’t understand why they’d do that, even though I properly introduced my name.
The person I just healed is one of those who calls me whatever he likes. After handing me money from his wallet, he skipped away saying, “I’ll come again, Goddess!” No, please try not to rely on me again. Were you listening?
There are even repeat customers like that now, and it’s been bustling every day. Even after he left, many people were still lined up waiting their turn.
For reference, I haven’t told the townspeople that I’m a vampire. Felnoute-san told me to keep that quiet because I’d stand out too much.
I do have fangs like a vampire, and my ears are slightly pointed, but perhaps because I stand openly under the sun, no one seems to have realized I’m a vampire.

“Hmm… I’ll finish for today after five more people, so please prioritize the seriously injured, okay?”

When I say “finish,” it’s not because my magic power is depleted. I simply feel like taking a nap.
To be honest, I’d like to stop working right now, but since I don’t know when I’ll find someone willing to support me, it’s better to earn while I can. As a compromise, five more for today.
Everyone listens obediently when I ask them, which helps. I can rest when I want, so in terms of working environment, I can’t find an easier office to work with.
Occasionally someone complains, but those people are immediately thrown out of the line. The power of numbers is great.

I quickly healed five more people and returned to Felnoute-san’s house.
Her house is two stories and fairly spacious. Apparently she bought it with money she earned in the past. Since she lost her sight fighting monsters and her skills are combat-oriented, she likely made a living hunting monsters.
If I wanted, I could dig up her past immediately with Blood Reading, but I’m not interested.
I walked down the hallway toward the kitchen, and I found Felnoute-san sitting in a chair. Seeing there’s a tea set on the table, she’s having tea time, perhaps?

“I’m back, Felnoute-san. …Felnoute-san?”

There’s no response. Thinking it odd, I look more closely and see her eyelids have fallen shut.
Her breathing is steady, and the large chest I once labeled “booby” rises and falls gently with each breath.

…Napping, aren’t we?

Sleeping while sitting isn’t bad at all. I understand.
It has a different sense of security from a bed, and you feel as though you’ve slept well in a short time. Your body gets a little stiff, though.

“…I’d feel bad to wake her.”

Felnoute-san always seems busy, going out day in and day out. She must be tired.
I haven’t asked what she’s doing, but she couldn’t see until recently. Now that she can, there are probably things she’s finally could do, or needed to do.
I like napping. You could say I romantically love it.
I truly understand how happy napping time is. So I wouldn’t take such a happy time away from someone else.

…But it’s about time to start preparing dinner.

Felnoute-san cooks every day. It depends on the menu, but usually she’d have started preparations by now so it’d be ready by dinner time. Then again…

“…Can’t be helped, nya.”

When I looked at Felnoute-san sleeping so peacefully like that, I couldn’t help but want her to stay rested.
I know I paid her money to cook for me, but the meals she cooks everyday have been delicious. So at least today, I’ll let her sleep.
