Castle Seyfert had a training hut with a view of the lake, in a corner of the garden.

Some of the children that went to school there, those who were interested in learning to fight, would often use that training area. Today the sound of wooden weapons clashing could be heard there as well.
…Except that it was not the slow rhythmical pace of children, but a far more repetitive and violent sound.
The one training there was…the supreme leader of the Lua Cheia United Kingdoms, Crim Lua Cheia.
Her sparring partner was Sorleon Nord Glacier, the emperor of the Northern Empire.
Both were the rulers of the four large powers controlling the continent.

“Watch it, you’re wasting too much energy pacing around like that!”
“Ugh, damn it..!”

They had only been training for five minutes, and Sorleon had the upper hand.
He still spoke calmly and stood firm, while Crim was drenched in sweat and struggled to keep steady. It was hard to believe that those two had been on equal footing in the past.
He even had the leeway to constantly point out all the ways Crim was wasting her energy and focusing on the wrong things.
And yet…

“Don’t get…too cocky!”
“Woah there!”

There was only so much nitpicking Crim could take before snapping, as she utilized her increased strength to push Sorleon’s sword aside,

“Take…this?!”

She just needed a small push to reach his exposed body…but she was too impatient and forgot to regulate her strength, as her feet launched her high into the air, going past Sorleon.
He turned around, ready to strike back.

“I’m not…done…yet!”

Her wings flapped and her body turned around, her wooden sword imbued with added rotational momentum as it clashed with Sorleon’s.

*CLAAAANK!*

The two wooden swords locked each other, the violent collision sending out a shockwave that blew past the garden plants…and the two opponents stopped moving.

“… You cheater! We agreed to only use our bodies and no Skills!!”
“Wha… I didn’t use any Skills! My wings are part of my body so they’re alloweddd!!”
“Don’t be childish!!”
“Look in a mirror first!!”

The two began yelling at each other.

…Once again, they were two of the four nation leaders in this world.

Then again, their competitive nature and reluctance to lose was not unusual, as they continued to argue on who had broken the rules.

“I see you two are getting along well.”
“And they’re both hard at work.”

Freya arrived there shortly, together with Lety, Sorleon’s personal maid who had visited them in the past.
Behind them were Adonis, Elohim, and Rouge, setting up a table and parasols. They were changing the position of the usual tea table to have a view of the lake.

“We’re about to serve tea, young master. Make sure to return everything to its place and wash your hands before joining us.”
“…Lety, am I a child or what..?”
“I believe that’s what you are, yes?”

His shoulders slumped forward hearing his maid’s ruthless comment.
Crim watched from a distance, breaking into laughter before adding “That’s so pitiful, put down even by thine maid,” speaking with a triumphant and mocking voice.

“Crim, Sorleon has been kind enough to come help you train, so try being a bit nicer to your friends, okay?”
“Okay…I’m sorry.”

Crim could never talk back whenever Freya entered older sister more, as she looked down meekly.

Soon their usual tea meeting began, just in a different location.

“So Crim, how are you feeling now?”
“Hmm…I’d say I’m halfway to seventy percent there.”

Crim gave her honest evaluation of what she achieved in the previous days, answering Freya’s question.
She was far from getting back to where she stood before, and she would need to keep training to achieve full control to avoid excessive movements like her jump above Sorleon earlier.

“I see… I guess getting used to that body is pretty troublesome.”
“Yeah… but I’m starting to get the hang of it, and I can do things that were impossible before, so it’s surprisingly fun too.”

Freya was still worried, but Crim’s smile, that of someone that genuinely enjoys overcoming challenges, quickly allowed Freya to rest easy.

“…Heheh, I guess you’ll always be like that, Crim.”
“H-Huhh..?”

Crim looked down bashfully hearing that, taking hold of a scone, lathering it with cream and then stuffing her cheeks with it.

“By the way, you’re quite crafty.”
“Whaw? (What?)”

Cream dripped from the corner of her mouth as she tilted her head in response to Sorleon’s comment.
He grimaced a little, and then explained.

“I’m talking about your wings. You never had them before, but you’re already finding ways of using them in battle other than flying, just like earlier. You should try to do more of that.”

He always had some advice to give, almost like he was speaking from a higher position…

“…Why does that sound like there’s more thou aren’t telling us?”
“Yeah, it sounds like he’s done this before, doesn’t it?”

Crim and Freya asked that , and Sorleon just looked away like he had made a mistake.
Crim was still curious, and wanted to press him further, when…

“…Master.”

With a puff of smoke, a new person appeared in the garden. It was…a girl with blonde hair, wearing a ninja outfit.

“Oh, Setsuna. Thou came back at just the right moment. Join us for tea too.”
“Sure thing, but before that I have something to report!”

Setsuna coughed lightly to clear her throat, then relayed her findings to Crim…who had sent Setsuna to spy around the Holy Kingdom.

“First off, I didn’t see anything suspicious over there, so I think they’re really focusing on rebuilding their nation like they said!”
“I see… I appreciate the information, Setsuna.”
“Mheheh.”

Crim praised Setsuna and patted her head, who giggled happily and then went to sit at the table, immediately reaching for the snacks.
Taking a macaron, she began nibbling at it like a squirrel. Freya watched that with a smile, before raising her voice.

“Is it finally time then?”
“Yes, it would seem so. All of this kerfuffle kept getting in the way, but I think it’s time we resume our trip.”

The time had come to go back to pursuing their main goal, which they had been aiming for ever since they obtained Castle Seyfert.

“The day after tomorrow, this Sunday…we’ll continue our search for the Fairy Village. I’ll appreciate all help from those available.”

Crim announced that loudly.
