It turned out that no matter how embarrassing the alpha’s howl had been, it was still the alpha. Under its so-called “majestic” roar, the remaining Shadow Wolves quickly tucked their tails between their legs and fled in disgrace.

Lilith found a sturdy vine and looped it into a circle.

“Bite this.” She gave the order, had the wolf alpha clamp its jaws around the vine, then pulled it back behind its head. Just like that, a simple makeshift rein was fashioned.

With a great deal of huffing and effort, Lilith struggled to climb onto the massive wolf’s back, then lightly kicked Liana, who was still standing there in a daze. “What are you spacing out for? Get on the horse… no, get on the dog.”

“Get… on the dog?” Liana looked at the enormous wolf and suddenly felt a wave of fear. “Do I really have to?”

“Do you want to walk all the way back?” Lilith patted the wolf’s head and coaxed her. “Relax. Little Grey is very well-behaved. Look.”

Receiving Lilith’s command, the Wolf Alpha turned its head and revealed a “kind” smile toward Liana. Heaven knew how Liana managed to see the word “kind” on a wolf’s face, but it did make her feel much more at ease.

“Alright.” She carefully climbed onto the… dog as well, then tightly wrapped her arms around Lilith’s slender waist.

“Um… move back a little.” Lilith suddenly said.
“Like this?”
“Yes, now lower your body a bit.”
“Like this?”
“That’s right. Now hold me tighter.”
“Like this?”

Liana followed each instruction one by one.

“Perfect. Absolutely perfect.” Lilith nodded in satisfaction. Those two massive things pressing against her head earlier had been rather uncomfortable. Putting them against her back like this felt much better.

Soft, round, and wonderfully springy…

She really had no idea what Liana had been eating to grow like this. At sixteen, this size was far beyond normal standards.

“Mountain Ghost?”
“It’s nothing. Hold on tight, we’re moving.”

Lilith flicked the rein, and Little Grey immediately burst into a run, darting through the forest.

The wolf was fast and steady, and neither Lilith nor Liana felt much jolting.

Guided by Liana’s directions, the two of them soon reached the edge of the forest. What should have taken a full day was shortened to just half an hour, making Lilith sigh in amazement that dogs truly were humanity’s best friends.

“You mustn’t do bad things in the future. Be a good dog, alright?” After arriving, Lilith earnestly lectured the wolf, Little Grey. “Don’t disappoint my guidance.”

“Woof! Woof!” Little Grey nodded repeatedly, moved to tears.

“Very good.” Lilith patted its head in satisfaction. “Go on.”

As if granted amnesty, Little Grey bolted away in a flash and vanished from sight. Only then did Lilith turn around and survey their surroundings.

“Huh? I don’t see any town.”
“This is just the forest’s edge. Maplefall Town is still some distance away.”
“Then why did we stop here? Couldn’t Little Grey have taken us all the way?”
“That won’t do.” Liana shook her head. “Most people in the town are ordinary folk. They’d be terrified if they saw a demon beast. And besides…”

She leaned in and said mysteriously, “I’ve got my own mount parked here.”

“A mount?” Lilith froze. Judging by past experience, it wasn’t going to be a bicycle again, was it?

“There, look.” Liana pointed toward the distance.

Lilith followed her finger. Even though she had mentally prepared herself, when she finally saw what Liana called her mount… She still sucked in a sharp breath. Because that so-called mount was, damn it all, a… tractor.

Yes, that was it. A tractor so noisy it felt personally offended by the concept of silence.

No wonder Lilith had felt that something was off about how wide this dirt road was. She just had not expected it to be built specifically so a tractor could pass through.

“How is it? Impressive, right!” Liana clearly adored her tractor and said smugly, “There’s only one like this in the entire Maplefall Town. Doesn’t it look way more majestic than Little Grey?”

‘Majestic my a̲s̲s̲. How could a tractor even be compared to him? At the very least, Little Grey was a wolf alpha. If Little Grey heard this, he would cry on the spot.’

“Alright, let’s go. Get on!” Liana waved her small hand and took the lead, walking up to the tractor. She grabbed the crank handle and began to heave with effort, huffing and puffing as she cranked it vigorously.

So it was hand-cranked to start. In a fantasy world like this, was it really that hard to give it some kind of spell ignition? Lilith covered her face helplessly, no longer knowing how to even begin complaining.

This was absurdity piled upon absurdity, taken to its absolute limit.

**Dut-dut-dut-dut-dut-dut…**

After Liana’s strenuous cranking, the tractor finally sputtered to life, letting out a mighty roar, at least in Liana’s own opinion.

“Let’s go, Mountain Ghost.” Liana skillfully hopped into the driver’s seat, clearly eager to finally show off her long-neglected, top-tier tractor-driving skills to the Mountain Ghost.

“Huh? Why aren’t you moving?”

“No, um…” Lilith looked at the cab, which had only a single seat. “Where am I supposed to sit?”

“Oh right, my bad.” Liana smacked her forehead, climbed back out of the driver’s seat, then trotted over to the rear cargo bed of the tractor. She yanked off the tarp covering it.

A super ultimate deluxe VIP limited-edition throne, a tiny folding stool, appeared before Lilith’s eyes. The veins on Lilith’s forehead throbbed violently, and she suddenly had a powerful urge to turn around and go back.

She found herself missing that giant stone she had lain on for years. At least it had been comfortable, and at least it had not been humiliating.

But Liana noticed nothing at all. She carefully placed the little stool against the back of the driver’s seat, then enthusiastically patted Lilith on the shoulder and said, “Come on, Mountain Ghost. Sit here!”

As expected… Lilith’s face stiffened as she looked at Liana and voiced her last shred of hope. “Riding in the cargo bed should be illegal, right?”

“Huh? Is there a rule like that?” Liana thought about it carefully. “I don’t think we have one here.”

“Think again. Maybe you just forgot?”

“Oh, don’t worry, Mountain Ghost. I drive this all the time. No one ever bothers me. The people from the city lord’s manor even keep their distance whenever they see me.”

Lilith’s mouth twitched. Sure enough, it had been foolish to expect a fantasy world to follow the order of modern society. But then why did this world have modern tractors in the first place, damn it!

“Come on, Mountain Ghost, hurry up and get on. If we go now, we’ll still make it back in time for lunch.” Liana hurriedly pushed Lilith, who had already given up all resistance and looked utterly dead inside, onto the small stool in the cargo bed.

There was not even a seatbelt. She just casually tied a hemp rope around Lilith to make sure she would not fall off while the tractor rattled along.

Liana then nimbly climbed back into the driver’s seat, her movements smooth and practiced. And so, beneath Lilith’s completely lifeless stare, Liana set off in her ‘majestic and imposing’ tractor, as she firmly believed it to be, its engine thunder audible from hundreds of meters away, boasting a built-in sound system and a fully open, panoramic view with not a single blind spot. Together with the renowned Mountain Ghost of the Great World, they embarked on the final leg of their journey home.
