Silence fell over the training grounds.

Flora’s body swayed unsteadily, and Ekaterina hastily caught her from behind.
But her own legs had no strength left either, and the two of them sank limply to the ground together.

Ekaterina stammered as she checked on Flora.

“I’m…fine.”

Flora answered with a sigh, then gently placed her hand over the arm that was holding her.

“Are you hurt, Lady Ekaterina?”
“I-I’m all right…”

As she replied, Ekaterina suddenly realized—it was the first time Flora had ever called her by name.

And then—

“Ekaterina!”

Aleksei came running up and grabbed his sister’s shoulder.

“Onii-sama—!”

Turning around, Ekaterina threw herself into his arms.

Aleksei, forgetting restraint entirely, hugged his crying little sister as tightly as he could.

“Ekaterina… Ekaterina.”

It hurt. My body was creaking from the force, but that pain made me happy.
It hurts! I’m alive!

Even as a grown woman—a corporate slave in her past life—fear is still fear! I really thought I was going to die!

His voice was rough and tender, doubling the impact! Add the brother complex—make that *triple*!
And those words—straight out of a J-POP ballad, or maybe an anime theme song! But they weren’t some pretentious line—he meant every word of it, sincerely and completely!
Most of all, he actually did rush here, risking his life for me!

That’s it. Your little sister can never marry anyone else now! Onii-sama, you’ll have to take responsibility!

Still, dying of moe seems to have put strength back into my legs. Moe really is the power of life!

Ekaterina spoke when she noticed Flora—still unable to stand—smiling up at the two of them.

Aleksei nodded and released his sister from his arms.
Then he went down on one knee before Flora and gently took her hand.

“Lady Flora Czerny.”

He spoke her name with reverence, bowed his head deeply, and pressed her hand to his forehead.

What a divine sight! A perfect painting come to life!

Inside, Ekaterina was practically bursting with excitement.

“I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your courage in saving my sister. And once again, I must apologize for my discourtesy the other day. I was a fool.”
“Please, don’t—”

Flora’s eyes widened as she shook her head, but Aleksei continued.

“The House of Jurnova has received a debt from you that can never be repaid. Therefore, I ask you to accept this vow.”

A vow!
That’s just like the one the prince made in the game!

“I, Aleksei, as head of House Jurnova, hereby name Flora Czerny a friend of Jurnova.
All who bear the name of Jurnova shall rejoice in our friend’s happiness as our own, and fight her enemies as our enemies.
Your foe is my foe. Your joy is my joy.
Thus I, Aleksei, head of House Jurnova, make this solemn vow.”

That phrasing—so archaic and warlike, straight out of a nation-founding era—sets the history nerd in me ablaze!

“Your Grace…! Please, you mustn’t trouble yourself with me. If anything, I owe Lady Ekaterina a debt I can never repay. Please, don’t kneel to someone like me.”
“I cannot stand until my vow is accepted. Such is the way of a vow.”

Aleksei’s gentle tone somehow carried an unshakable firmness that couldn’t be moved by any means.

“I… I understand. I accept. So please, stand. Please stand up.”

Looking flustered, Flora spoke, and Aleksei gave a faint smile. Then he rose to his feet and softly pulled her up with him.
Flora’s eyes widened, but she clung to his hand and slowly stood.

Ahh, you’re wonderful, Onii-sama! What a breathtakingly beautiful pair you two make!

But… wait a second.
A flag? Is this a flag??
It might be, huh…

There wasn’t supposed to be a romance route where the heroine could pursue my brother.
But then again, in the game, he never appeared in this event at all.
Maybe his coming to the rescue this time created a new route?
Ugh… I was a hopeless woman with nothing but cringeworthy dating history in my past life, so once the story deviates from the game’s flow, I’m completely lost!

If that’s the case, I’d be happy for my brother—but I can’t help feeling a little lonely.
Still, I’m truly glad to have been reborn as his sister…
Though, just once, I wish I could’ve tried romancing him back in my previous life’s game.
