[In front of Class 2-B’s classroom]
Rinka, Meow Meow, and Sis Xi were all gathered here, as they were all in this class.
Originally, because the age on Xiao Lei’s fake ID was a year younger than mine, Rinka had arranged for her to be placed in the first-year class with Haitang and the others, as a little sister. But she flat-out refused and insisted on being in the same class as me. Rinka couldn’t argue her down and ended up running off at lunchtime to revise her info.
Now, Xiao Lei and I were standing outside the classroom, waiting for our cue. Sis Qiuluo stood in the hallway on guard.
“You two exchange students can come in now,” came the homeroom teacher’s lazy voice from inside the room.
Xiao Lei and I pushed open the door and stepped onto the podium. The teacher glanced over at us, nodded, and stepped to the side with a shrug.
“Well then, go ahead and introduce yourselves to the class. Uh, which one of you wants to start?”
Her name was Gao Mujin (高木槿). We’d already met earlier in the staff office.
She spoke in a lethargic tone, with droopy eyelids that made her look like she’d doze off standing any moment.
“Ahem. Then we'll do it together!“
I flipped the chalkboard eraser over like a wooden block, smacked it crisply on the desk, and cleared my throat.
With a touch of shyness, I began:
“Hi everyone in 2-B, I’m Chang Lingmeng, seventeen years old.”
“I’m Zhao Lei, sixteen.”
“And I’m an E cup~”
“I’m—wait, why would you say that in a self-introduction!?”
“Well, you wouldn’t but not me?”
“…”
“Some of you may already know—we’re both exchange students from Chaiqing No. 11 High School.”
“From Chaiqing, far away!”
“Our exchange program lasts for one month. During that time, we’ll be temporarily studying here at Biyang Girls’ Academy. Sorry for the intrusion.”
“Nice to meet you.”
“The girls here at Biyang are really enthusiastic. On our way to lunch with the student council president, we got mobbed by groups of students multiple times. It’s a miracle we’re still standing.”
“So much enthusiasm.”
“Yeah, we got our faces squished, our waists poked, like we were being exfoliated.”
“Only snakes shed skin.”
“And even worse, some girls groped my chest. Isn’t that crossing the line?”
“Didn’t happen to me.”
“Well duh, you’ve got nothing for them to grope!”
“…”
“What, you’re not playing along now?”
“This is a self-introduction, not a comedy routine!”
“It is!”
“Then why does it feel like a crosstalk skit!?”
“Isn’t it just another form of self-introduction?”
“So you’re roasting me on purpose!?”
“How am I roasting you?”
“You’re implying my chest is flat!”
“That’s not roasting. That’s a plain, obvious fact. It’s part of introducing you.”
“That’s all you’re gonna say about me?”
“What else is there to say?”
“I like playing basketball!”
“How original. See, that’s why you’re a side character.”
“What do you mean side character!?”
“Same exchange student setup, right? But I’m the pretty one with the great figure—the protagonist. You? You’re the bonus fries in a fast food combo. And not even a large.”
Okay, maybe I went too far. Xiao Lei’s gritted teeth made it clear she was genuinely mad.
“What’s so great about having big boobs anyway!? They’re just gonna sag! And it’s not like I’m the only one in this room who’s flat!”
As she said that, I glanced toward Rinka—who was calmly covering her mouth and laughing, completely unbothered.
“Hey, don’t be mad. I’m just introducing myself too!”
“By mocking me!? Besides your looks, what else do you have to say about yourself?”
“Hmm… My hobbies include exploring alternate realities in lower-dimensional virtual worlds—whether to link the fire, slay the hunt, or play Gwent.”
“So, playing video games.”
“Playing games? Well, some people do call it that.”
“No, I mean everyone calls it that!”
“Fine, my hobby is gaming. Anyone with similar interests, let’s be friends.”
“See? That’s just as normal as basketball.”
But is it really that normal? There probably aren’t that many girls who love gaming. Then again, there are even fewer into basketball.
At the end, we bowed in unison like proper performers. Despite how awkward it was, our improv routine actually earned a smattering of applause. I even felt a little proud.
The classroom was noticeably larger than those at the boys’ school, but even counting us, there were only about thirty students—far fewer than the 40 or 50 crammed into the smaller boys’ school classrooms.
The homeroom teacher clapped twice and said,
“Well then, thank you to our exchange students for that… impromptu comedy act. Your seats have been added to the back row. If it’s hard to hear or you have trouble in class, let me know—I’ll see what I can do.”
With the teacher’s guidance, we found our seats and officially started our first afternoon class.
Though the curriculum was the same, the girls’ school was noticeably ahead in pace. I struggled to keep up. Xiao Lei’s eyes were already spiraling like mosquito coils.
And they only have three classes in the afternoon—how do they do it?
Even during class, some girls kept turning around to sneak peeks at us, especially me. All the attention made me flustered, which only worsened my concentration.
The moment the bell rang, everyone who had held back their curiosity burst forth. We were immediately surrounded and bombarded with questions—many I had no idea how to answer.
Tips for bust enhancement? Waist slimming secrets? Skin care routines? How to do improv comedy?
Even girls from other classes crowded in. In no time, we mysterious, new transfer students became the hottest topic of gossip.
But what the heck do I know about secret beauty hacks? I was born this way!
Of course, the girls didn’t believe me. They chattered non-stop, trying to pry some wisdom out of me. Some even invited me out after school for a welcome party—my male soul was both overwhelmed and thrilled.
As for the adorably airheaded Xiao Lei, she got dragged off by a few older girls from who-knows-where. All she left behind were long claw marks on the wooden floor. Maybe because she looked so easy to tease, she had a special pull for the big-sister types.
“Alright, alright, you’re overwhelming the exchange students. Give them a break, would you?”
Sis Xi clapped her hands and stepped in to rescue me. Surprisingly, the girls listened. They even shooed away the ones from other classes.
Apparently, it was all in the name of protecting the “class beauty.”
Wait, I just got here—how am I already the class beauty!?
“You’re pretty well-respected, Sis Xi.”
Seeing the girls back off, Rinka and Meow Meow came over.
Meow Meow gave her sister’s shoulder a pat and sighed.
“I think everyone’s been helped by Xiao Xi one way or another. She’s way too much of a softie. With that kind of personality, she’s gonna get tangled up with some good-for-nothing guy in the future and end up supporting him.”
“Wha—no I won’t!! I’m not going anywhere near guys!”
“You didn’t know, Lingmeng-chan?” Rinka pointed to Sis Xi. “She’s our class rep, elected unanimously.”
“Wow? She’s really the class rep?”
Unanimously!? That’s some serious credibility!
“Yep! Xiao Xi’s super popular—not just in class, but all over school. Tons of students and even teachers have been helped by her. Honestly, sometimes I think she takes on too much. And she still handles management work for me too. My little sister is just too competent!”
Meow Meow threw her arms around Sis Xi in an affectionate hug, clearly bragging.
“Come on, sis, you’re exaggerating. Helping others also helps me grow—it's good training.”
The two of them had totally entered sister mode.
“By the way, shouldn’t we go to the security office now for iris scans?”
Rinka glanced at the time, then at the empty seat next to me.
“Wait, where’s Xiao Lei?”
“She got snatched again.”
“Again!?”
