After a fierce battle, Starmew was left with only a sliver of HP, while Starry finished off one of the enemies. The remaining three lizards were already half-buried in the ground. Yes, that was no exaggeration, Morthar had literally hollowed out the earth beneath them.
Though their bodies were as hard as diamond, their massive size made it impossible for them to climb out of the pit for the time being. The elemental blasts could only hit the ground below, and muffled explosions rumbled up from below every few seconds.
Finishing them off was just a matter of time.
Five minutes later, Zane had reached Level 25, and Starry was only a sliver of experience away from Level 27. Starmew had leveled up to 24, while Morthar was joyfully feasting on his meal, it seemed he wouldn’t be done anytime soon.
Moreover, two pieces of equipment had dropped.
| Elemental Horn | |
|---|---|
| Grade | Unique |
| Required Level | 30 |
| Magic Attack | 100 |
| Physical Defense | 45 |
| Magic Defense | 72 |
| Dexterity | 46 |
| Wisdom | 75 |
| Intelligence | 93 |
| Magic Crit Rate | 5% |
| Special Effect | Fountain of Elements — Reduces casting time by 20%. |
| Special Skill | Recharge — Stores one magic-type skill for release as a special ability. Maximum of 3 stored. Cooldown between releases: 5 seconds. |
| Description | A horn from the Diamond Lizard, capable of storing immense elemental energy. |
A mage’s hat! Aside from the Autumn Moon Sword, this was the first Unique item they had ever seen. Not only were its stats monstrous, but the Recharge ability was a masterpiece in itself.
Just imagine, being able to cast Pyrestorm twice in quick succession during a PvP battle. How was anyone supposed to play against that? On top of that, the Fountain of Elements effect reduced spell-casting startup time, an advantage no opponent could predict.
In duels between masters, such details could easily turn the tide of battle.
The second drop wasn’t nearly as impressive, but that was only natural. Unique items had an even lower drop rate than Epic ones. Still, for a Level 30 piece of gear, it was no doubt high-tier.
| Flowlight Gauntlets | |
|---|---|
| Grade | Epic |
| Required Level | 30 |
| Physical Attack | 156–172 |
| Dexterity | 48 |
| Strength | 55 |
| Crit Rate | 7% |
| Special Effect | Flowlight Fist — 5% chance to trigger on attack, dealing 125% damage to the target. |
| Description | It is said that the Flowlight Fist can illuminate the night sky when unleashed in darkness. |
Its attack power was almost on par with the Autumn Moon Sword. No surprise there, it was Level 30 gear, though its stats were on the simpler side and lacked many extra attributes.
Still, the Flowlight Fist skill shared a similar concept with Autumn Strike, though the activation rate was too low to rely on in PvP. It might, however, produce some pleasant surprises when farming monsters. He’d probably hand it over to Snowy later.

“Invoke: Mire.”
The ground turned into a pool of mud, and the unconscious goblins began to stir as the suffocating sensation of sinking woke them up.
A surprisingly effective way to get people out of bed.
“My heavens…” Kanrel exclaimed. “You actually took down four Diamond Lizards in one go?!”
“Piece of cake. Just give us the reward,” Zane said matter-of-factly.
Kanrel’s face twisted into an awkward expression. “Heroes… we no longer have anything left.”
‘What, trying to skip payment now? Wait…come to think of it, there isn’t even a quest anymore… Did we just fight for nothing?’
“Forget it,” Zane sighed. “Your chieftain’s already gone. Just find somewhere to hide. Staying here is just waiting for death anyway.” His words were blunt, but not wrong.
“…”
“This human speaks the truth.” Suddenly, a goblin stepped forward. “We fled to this frozen land to escape the endless wars. Yet even here, the Dark Faction forced us out again!” The goblin spoke passionately. “Now that the chieftain is gone, we no longer need to follow their orders. Let’s head to the Crimson Plains!”
‘Who the heck’s this guy, why did he suddenly have so many lines?’
Sensing Zane’s confusion, Kanrel whispered, “That’s Yalu, son of the late chieftain, Yaho.”
‘Ah, so the fire of their tribe hadn’t been extinguished after all.’
The other goblins quickly voiced their agreement, they had grown sick of living like this.
“Where is the Crimson Plains?” Zane asked curiously.
“It’s south of the Valley of Luminara,” one of them explained. “Roughly three days’ journey from here. The Dark Faction hasn’t yet reached that area, and with Diamond Lizards occupying this place, our movement should go unnoticed.”
“I see…” Zane murmured. ‘Don’t go setting up a flag like that!’
“Are you planning to build a new home there?” he asked with interest.
“Yes,” Yalu nodded. “And we owe you our deepest gratitude for saving us. However… we currently lack the means to repay you. Once we’ve settled there, you’ll be welcome to visit us.”
“There’s no need for a reward…” Zane paused, then added, “I was just wondering, would you mind living alongside another race?”
Yalu’s expression darkened. “Though you saved us as humans, most humans bear deep hatred toward goblins. Coexistence is impossible!”
“Oh, I wasn’t talking about humans.”
“…?”
“Ever heard of the Gray Wolves?”

‘Time to log off for dinner.’
“Hey, Shiu, did you guys really fight Rainflower today? I saw a post on the forum, ‘FleetingDream suffers a crushing defeat… Endless Sea is the true hidden master!?’ What kind of clickbait title is that?”
“Yeah,” Shiu replied casually. “There were too many players around Cragstone Rise. Our position got leaked pretty quickly.”
“What’d they want with you guys?” The Rainflower Guild should only have grudges with the top two ranked players.
“It was probably because of FleetingDream. He and Sea knew each other, must’ve had some old grudge,” Shiu said in an offhand tone.
“As long as you guys won, that’s all that matters.” Zane didn’t think much of that guild anyway.
Suddenly, a new post caught his eye.
“Shocking! A Hidden Class Emerges in Wynwater City. And the Owner Is a Fairy Girl!?” The poster’s ID was a mess of random English letters, but the post already had hundreds of thousands of views and was trending fast.
Opening it, Zane was stunned to see a screenshot of Seraphine appearing at Cragstone Rise!
“Seraphine cleared the trial?!” Zane exclaimed in surprise.
“Yeah,” Shiu said. “Didn’t you see the world announcement?”
“I’ve been too tense all day, didn’t even notice.”
“What were you doing this morning?”
“Just some quests. Ran into a bit of trouble.”
“Alright, well, give us a shout if you need help. We’re still scouting for new maps.”
“Got it, got it.”

When Zane logged back in, he checked his gold, over 500 coins. He immediately dumped all 500 into the auction. The exchange rate had already dropped to 1:75. At this rate, in another day or two, gold would be worth next to nothing. Better sell it all while it still held value.
In less than five minutes, his offer was instantly bought out. The demand was still high, and his account balance jumped by another 36,000 yuan.
‘Right, time to sort out my inventory.’
He pinged Nangong, saying he had something to give him. Half a minute later, Nangong appeared right in front of him, remarkably fast.
“Where’s the stuff?!”
“Why the rush? Don’t faint later.”
“Hmph. After what I saw this morning, you think I scare that easily?”
“Haha, we’ll see about that.”
Zane opened the trade window and began placing items one by one.
First, the Staff of Prayer (Lv.25) and a Rare Dagger, both looted from the fallen Death Knight.
Nangong was clearly getting restless, though he held himself back.
Then came the Flowlight Gauntlets. His jaw dropped. A Level 30 gear, it completely stunned him. But Zane wasn’t done yet. He threw in an Icefeather Arrow skill book.
“Ffff—”
Nangong quickly sucked in the drool that was about to spill from his mouth. Wiping the corner of his mouth, he coughed lightly and tried to act calm. “Is… is that all?”
Zane said nothing, simply placing two Pet Eggs onto the trade window.
“Holy s̲h̲i̲t̲!”
