We rush to the training arena, but the two men are already sprawled on the ground, burned to a crisp.

“Ahhhhhhhhhh!”

I quickly take out some healing potions from my magic storage and douse them with it. Don’t diee! I have no sympathy for either of you, but I can’t have Olivia building up a criminal record so early in her career!

“Don’t worry about them, I made sure to hold back. I didn’t think just one Sparkling Lightning Discharge hit would take them down though. Everyone in my class was stronger than that.”

Olivia says that with a monotone voice, but I still think using one of her best spells on a rank E adventurer was going too far?!

“Ah, Olivia, there you are!” And then someone from the guild came. It’s the same young receptionist that completed the Servant registration for us earlier, alongside someone older.

“Wait, what’s going on here?!”
Oh no, they saw them!

“Ah, you’re treating their wounds? The guild has a healer that could take care of them though, but I guess it’s alright if you already did that.”
It’s alright then?!

“Ah right, Olivia. Your rank has just been updated to D.”
“Huh?”
“Excuse me?”

She went from F to D1? Why?

“Umm, I thought that combat ability was not the only factor to one’s rank? Why the sudden change?”
“That’s true, but considering Olivia has already registered various Servants, including a high functioning magic automaton, a werewolf Comet Wolf, a tamed Cruel Predator even though they’re usually fierce monsters, and a rare Copper Spider, having her stuck at rank F while her Servants are monsters ranked C or higher didn’t really make much sense.”

Now that they mention it, they’re right.

On top of that, she graduated from Ingralowe’s Magic Academy, so she should have the necessary field knowledge for a higher rank like C as well, but the guild didn’t have any records to verify that yet, so they were limited to giving her rank D.

“It’ll require some paperwork though, so please come with us for a moment.”
“Alright. Ah, Natalia, these two…”
“I’ll deal with them, just go.”
“Thank you.”

Olivia follows the guild’s staff back into the main building.

After I’ve drenched the two fallen men with medicine, I check their external wounds. It seems it was a rather superficial hit, and their bones are still intact. They’re still knocked out cold and it’ll be a while before they wake up again, but at least they should be fine now.

“Hey, what was that flash from earlier?”
“Did something happen?”
“Woah, is that a monster?! Oh, it’s a Servant.”

By now a crowd of adventurers is starting to gather around here. Hopefully they don’t make too much noise.

“Those idiots on the ground just challenged someone far above their pay grade and got what was coming to them, that’s all.”

While I started to get worried, Danny quickly explains what happened.

“Do you remember Ophelia, the lady that would come from time to time? It was her daughter.”
“Ahh, I heard she was an only daughter and was attending the Magic Academy.”

It’s been three years since Ophelia passed away, but there’s still a lot of people who remember her. It also seems like people know Olivia went to the Magic Academy, so they look with pity at the two men who weren’t aware of that.

“Oh well, I’m not really surprised that the Witch’s daughter is really strong.”
“Are those monsters her Servants too then?”
“Wait, if the daughter is here then…there she is. That’s the magic automaton maid that showed her underwear to everyone2.”
“Ah right, it’s the Flashing Maid.”
“Why did you have to remind me of that, I had already forgotteeeeeeeeennnnnnnnn!!”

Hearing some of their comments filled me with dread and I screamed while holding my head.

After I finish the paperwork I return to the training arena, where I find Natalia cowering in a corner for some reason. I try to ask what happened, but Mir and Danny just tell me to let her be, and don’t tell me anything more.

Seriously, what happened while I was gone?

“Olivia, I’m done making the equipment you asked for, do you want to try putting it on?”

Saying that, Mir opens her bag and takes out the long gloves, middle boots, and knee-high socks I ordered, all of which are black. They don’t look too special, but I know there’s more to them.

“The base fabric is made from a composite material of Giant Ramie imbued with Black Mountain Dragon Scales, woven to offer higher resistance to blades. The gloves and boots are coated with an extra layer of molten Black Mountain Dragon Scales as well. The knuckle guards and nails are relatively small, but they’re made of mithril. Everything should be really flexible but also resilient, though with added weight. I don’t think that should be a problem for you, right?”
“Yeah, this weighs almost nothing for me.”
“It took me a while to really come up with a proper design, but I ended up leaving the gloves’ fingertips open to improve the grip.”

I listen to her explanation while I put on everything she gave me, then try opening and grasping my hand.

“Let me give it a try.” I crouch down and place my hand on the ground before I start chanting. “Iron sleeping beneath us, gather around me and become my barrier, Iron Wall.”

Iron Wall is an earth magic spell. It’s pretty self-explanatory from its name, but it creates a wall of iron that emerges from the ground. It should be a good test for my new equipment.

I take a deep breath, raise my fists, then punch the wall as hard as I can, leaving a deep imprint.

“Sparkling Lightning Discharge.”

That’s the same spell I used against those two guys earlier, and after lightning wraps around my fist, I rapidly punch the iron wall time and time again, leaving it crumpled. Then with a round kick to end, I tear off the top half of the wall.

“Phew.” I exhale and lower my fists. “They’re good, I like them.”

The gloves are pretty thin so I barely feel like I’m wearing them, and they don’t impede my movements at all. They’re also good magic conductors, so they’re perfect for Magical Arts.

I didn’t think they’d end up being so good.

“I’m glad you like them. Anyway, about the price…”

Yeahh…I guess it makes sense that something like this is crazy expensive. Natalia looked really bothered when I told her about it when she finally recovered.

I let Natalia put all our luggage into her magic storage, then lock the mansion’s door. Sadly our visit home ends now. We have to leave soon or we’ll be late to the caravan we’ll travel with.

“Shaa~~!”
“I know, but I’m really sorry.”

When Natalia is done, she still has to comfort Erika for a bit.

I really feel bad for Erika, but since her body is so big she won’t really fit inside the carriages of the caravan, not to mention that she’d cause a riot if we bring her into Bamel where a lot of people live. People are still afraid of her, even if she’s a Servant. I feel like she’ll just end up being treated badly even if we take her, and there’s too many things that could go wrong. Sadly she’s not easy to pass off as a regular person like Natalia or Clarissa, and Akane is small enough that people don’t notice her.

So we have no option but to leave Erika to keep guard over the mansion. Though again, it was Natalia who decided that.

“We won’t be away for too long, so just be patient until then.”
“Sha…”

Erika cries quietly, then brings out a bunch of her fruits from under her big flower and offers them to Natalia.

“Thank you, we’ll think of you every time we eat them. You’ll be in charge of watching over the mansion and garden while we’re gone. We’re counting on you.” Natalia strokes Erika’s petals, then puts the fruits inside her magic storage. “Young Lady, we’re ready to depart.”
“Woof.”
“!”

All of this is happening because of a letter I got a little before graduating. It was an invitation to a party organized by a certain noble, and I really wanted to decline since I’ll have to travel really far away from Bamel, and the date isn’t too far away. But when I saw the sender’s name I knew I had to go no matter what.

The letter had come from one Otis Ley Gardeland3.

“Let’s go then, to the capital Magici.”
