This might be another world, but seasons are still a thing.

We’re in the middle of summer now, which means every day the sun is scorching the earth. It’s always at times like these that I’m glad I came here as a magic automaton.

The interior of Ingralowe’s Magic Academy’s dorms are kept cool and fresh with magic, but you’re hit with a hellish wave of heat once you take a step outside. Right now classes have ended so all students are going back home, and I can see them drenched in sweat and despising this heat.

“Working out when it’s so hot feels great!”

Okay I take that back. The Young Lady I serve is such a muscle head that she’s still working out in the courtyard, and somehow she’s smiling happily as she seems to be finding more motivation in the heat than exhaustion.

“Natalia, can you make her shut up? Just watching her is making me sweat more.”
“I wouldn’t really know what to do…”

Amy uses her hand to fan herself as she complains to me.

I agree that it’s awfully hot today, but I can’t see myself interrupting Olivia’s workout seeing how happy she is about it, and her definite goal. Though if she does anything that could harm herself, I’ll make sure to step in.

Her current outfit is one designed for working out, with a lot of exposed skin and tight fits. As she runs her chest starts to bounce around too, and while working out is healthy, I feel like all the boys and girls watching her might be experiencing something damaging to their mental health. All of the students that pass by as they come back from class stop to look at her for a while, raising the heat even more, but in a different meaning. Can’t they just go back home before they collapse from the heat?

Soaking
Speaking of going back home, Marize had originally challenged Olivia again, but she could not win against the heat and just went back to her dorm.

Eventually Christina and Plum arrive, carrying a parasol.

“I see you’re working really hard today too.”
“Well, I do want to keep getting stronger. Why did you come all the way here though, Chris?”
“I thought it’d be nice to go visit the river during our free day tomorrow and enjoy a refreshing breeze, so I came to invite you.”

That was an offer no one would decline, and then even Ryuka and Ruri agree to go, and surely enough the next day we’re on our way there.

“It’s so refreshinggg!”
“Awooooo!”

Amy and Clarissa are the first ones to voice their thoughts. To be honest this is the first time I’m seeing her show so much emotion, but I guess that just goes to show how bad the heat is.

There’s a river with crystal clear water running through the Valhen Woods, and as Amy said, this area feels refreshing even if we haven’t entered the water yet.

Amy is the one showing the most emotion right now, but that sentiment is really shared with everyone here, and they’re doing their best to not just jump into the river.

“Alright, let’s go play! Or so I’d like to say. Why aren’t you wearing a swimsuit!”

For a moment I think they’re all running forward to the river, but then Olivia turns around and points a finger at me. Everyone here has changed into a swimming suit, except for me. I’m just wearing my usual maid uniform and am holding a fishing rod in one hand.

“Oh, well I just thought that since we’re so close to a source of fresh fish, I might as well catch some for lunch. Was that bad?”

That’s only half the truth.

Olivia did get a swimsuit ready for me, but my mind is still that of a guy from my past life, so I feel some aversion to wearing a female swimsuit.

And don’t call me a hypocrite since I’m used to wearing maid uniforms and girls’ underwear already.

“It’s not bad! It’s just that I want to see you in a swimsuit even more!”

Could she be a little less direct about her worldly desires?

She’s starting to sound like a brat in middle school. Though I guess she’s at the right age for middle school.

“Please, I beg of you, wear a swimsuit.”
“Umm…”

All of a sudden Olivia starts to grovel on the ground as she begs.

We might be around friends here, but it’s still a bit shocking how little she hesitated to do this.

“…I understand.”
“You’ll do it then?”

To be honest I’m already a bit scared so I agree. If she’s already doing stuff like this, I’m worried what other weird things she’d do if I said no.

But then Olivia tries to force her way to help me change, so I have the other girls restrain her while I go hide in the thickets to change clothes.

“Okay, is this what you wanted?”
“”Thank you very much!””

Wait, why is Ruri saying that too now? And the way they bow is so immaculate I feel creeped out.

And now Plum is trying to do the same since she just saw both of them do it, luckily Chris stopped her on time. Those two definitely are a bad influence on Plum.

“There’s nothing fun to see on a magic automaton’s body though…”

I’m wearing a matching swimsuit to Olivia’s, just in a different color. It’s a bikini with a pareo wrapped around my waist, which means the ball joints of my shoulders are fully exposed, when my uniform usually hides them. Now anyone that looks at me can tell that I’m a magic automaton, and that I’m not a living being, so why would anyone want to look at the rest of my body?

“That’s not the case at all! You’re so pretty I almost want to pin you down.”
“Magic automaton or not, the fact remains you’re a dear friend to all of us here, Natalia.”

Olivia’s comment aside, Ryuka’s response actually makes me feel better about myself.

“…Say, do you know if demihumans have trouble growing chests?”
“What a coincidence, I was about to ask the same thing.”

But then Amy and Ruri stare daggers at the rest of us. Now that I think about it, me, Olivia, and Ryuka are top 3 in terms of size here.

Also, I don’t think that has anything to do with being demihumans or not, as I’ve seen plenty of demihumans with large chests before. If anything, dwarves are the only species with a deficiency like that.

“Umm…you know, sometimes it’s better to not pay attention to physical traits?”
“Also working out with them moving around gets awkward and tires your shoulders, so I actually envy you.”
“”Shut up! You cow t̲i̲t̲s̲ have no right to talk!””

Ryuka and Olivia try to appease them, but it only backfires. And the fact that Ruri actually spoke like that against Ryuka only goes to show how angry she is. I’m scared of both of them right now though.

“Hahh…okay Ruri, come here we’ll start preparations for lunch. Young Lady, Ryuka, would you mind accompanying Amy forward?”

I decide to separate Ruri from the group, while Olivia and Ryuka take hold of Amy’s arms and drag her forward.

“Heyyy, let go! Ah, that felt soft. M-my anger…my anguish…it’s…vanishing…”

The two pairs of large soft lumps on both sides of Amy slowly cleanse away her anger. I think she’ll be fine now, so the only problem is the damn rabbit.

“Ruri, let’s act like adults, will you? We can do this.”
“No, we can’t. How would you suggest I restrain my jealousy, lust, envy, carnal desire, frustration, and passion? I’ll never be satisfied until I can feel them with my own hands.”
“Most of that was lust though… Maybe I should help you take a nap in the riverbed.”

It’s a bit difficult to discuss this topic for me, considering I used to be a guy. But I can’t let it get in the way of my job either, not to mention she’s really getting on my nerves now.

Then Plum seems to get an idea and grabs Ruri’s hand.

“Do mine work?”

And pulls it to her chest.

“?!”
“Plum?!”

That was so unexpected that Ruri’s eyes turn into perfect circles, and it takes me a moment to process it all before I yank Ruri’s hand away from Plum.

“Plum, you should only do something like with someone special who you really trust.”
“But Master and Miss Annabelle always touch there during maintenance. And I trust Ruri too. I’d obviously let you touch too, Sister.”
“That’s not exactly what I meant…”

I tried to explain it to Plum, but considering she hasn’t fully grasped the concept of love yet, trying to teach her the distinction between friendly and romantic love is an even bigger hurdle.

Meanwhile Ruri

“Ah…ahahah…she’s even bigger than me…ahahahahaha… I’m literally flat like a plank… Laugh already you b̲a̲s̲t̲a̲r̲d̲.”

I think her brain was completely taken over by a sense of defeat. Now she’s just staring up with vacant eyes and laughing sarcastically, it’s a bit unsettling actually. The way she’s standing only emphasizes the flatness of her chest though, so it makes me feel bad for her too.

“I’ll just leave you alone until you feel better then.”

I think this is the kindest I’ve ever felt towards Ruri.

Anyway, I’ll start by taking the bottles of drinks and fruits we brought and placing them on the riverbank, encircled with stones so they can be cooled down without being carried away by the current. I’m sure ice magic could cool them down faster and to a lower temperature, but we came all the way to the river so might as well enjoy it the way it’s meant to be.

The main problem is the main dish. We did bring some snacks, but I still want to get some fish from the river. I feel like my mood will only get spoiled if I go anywhere near Olivia, though I have to admit I do want to play in the river a bit too.

So the best option would be to find a way to gather a large quantity of fish in the shortest time, though there’s very few ways to accomplish that.

“Hmm, well, I guess that’d work.”

This was banned in my previous life, but this isn’t that world. There’s no laws prohibiting it here, and I have no other option than that.

I set off with Plum, both of us carrying a basket.

“Oh right, I forgot to mention, your swimsuit looks really cute Plum. It fits you well.”

I compliment Plum’s swimsuit as we walk. She’s wearing one of those dress-like swimsuits kids usually wear, with frills around the shoulder. I feel like it really goes along nicely with her design.

“Thank you very much. I believe your swimsuit suits you well too, Sister.”
“…I see, thank you.”

I still can’t say I like it though…

Speaking of which, Ruri’s swimsuit is a more sportsy one. I don’t know if there’s any sports tournaments that include swimming in this world, but I feel like it’s a good choice for her. Though I have to admit that the plain design does accentuate her flat chest even more.

Once we’re decently away from Olivia and the rest, I search for a large rock that’s just barely emerging from the river. Then I pick up a smaller stone that’s the right size and weight, and slowly walk through the river.

The flow of water around my feet feels really nice, but I have to be careful to not slip since that could be dangerous. Soon enough I get to the large rock.

“Well, let’s do it then.”

There I raise up the stone I’m holding and then throw it down onto the large rock. A loud sound comes from stone hitting stone, which feels like the air itself is vibrating, and even more powerful shockwaves spread through the water before the small stone rolls over and vanishes inside the river.

Shortly after, countless fish start to float on the water surface.

Yup, that was stun fishing.

“There they are. Plum, gather all the fish you can reach safely.”
“Yes, Sister.”

Now all we have to do is gather all of the stunned fish in our baskets.

It’s a pretty big haul.

Eventually our baskets get full and we go back feeling triumphant. Plum still looks rather emotionless as always, but I know she’s trying to display more emotion in her own clumsy way, which is cute in its own way, and trying to rush things wouldn’t make anything better anyway.
