Good morning.
Waking up this time was amazingly pleasant. I could confidently say that I hadn’t woken up this wonderfully in the last couple of years.
It made me realize just what being healthy actually meant. It was enough to convince me that I had been unhealthy for the past few years.
“It seems like you’re adjusting to your body well.”
“Sure am. I feel great. Is this because I’m a demi-god now?”
It was disconcerting to feel weight in places I didn’t normally feel when I tried to get up, and to have nothing in places where I normally felt its presence, but I soon got used to it. Looking sullenly at the new body, I could see that it was quite beautiful.
My breasts were modest, my waist was thin, and my legs were both slender and long.
And on top of that, I was as white as snow.
When I shook my head from side to side, something on the side of my head felt strange.
I tried touching it with my hands and noticed that my ears were stretched.
“Am I an elf?”
“You could say that feeling well could be an effect of becoming a Demigod. When you live as a human, you’re bound to run into malfunctions. And yes, you’ve guessed right. The source of your body this time around is an Elf. Or more precisely, an ancient species of elf, known as an Ancient Elf. It will depend on what you choose to do in the future, but since you no longer have a lifespan, it’s better to have a species that won’t cause any misunderstandings.”
“And the real reason?”
“That’s the only one I had at hand. You could say that it was left over from when I was building the world.”
My new body was a leftover. Though, despite being a leftover, it seemed like it had specs that had been blessed beyond belief. My own voice, which I had just heard, was so high and clear that if I could listen to it on the side, I’d definitely be smitten.
Just as I was wondering what I looked like, a figure appeared in front of me.
He’s really gotten used to reading my mind, I thought.
The figure that appeared before me had a beautiful face that definitely reminded one of an elf. But she also looked very young.
It was somewhat shorter than my previous body.
“Oh yea, what are the differences between a demi-god and a human?”
“You won’t need to eat or sleep. However, you can choose to do either if you’d like, so as to not seem strange when with other people. As for the rest, you simply have high stats. In other words, the demi-gods are still bound by their status.”
“Isn’t the Status a system that you incorporated? Since the status system isn’t found everywhere, I assume that those who possess it are bound to this world.”
“You’re sharp. You’ll be the strongest existence in the world you are about to be sent to right now.”
“Does that mean that I’ll be powerless against heroes from the outside?”
“Their existences are remade the moment they step into this world, so you have no cause for concern,” God explained. “However, it’s worth noting that some may still manage to wield their blades against demi-gods, perhaps due to a miraculous anomaly or a glitch. You’ve encountered such anomalies already, or ‘bugs,’ as you might call them. But we’ll set that aside for the moment. True, they can aim their weapons at you, but remember, you’re also from an outside world, which means you need not worry.”
I started to grow somewhat suspicious that he hadn’t called me by my name this whole time, which led me to believe that my name had changed as well.
“I’ll give you a new name. Still, to think that this is what you’d be worried about right now, really does make you seem like a proper god.”
“Thank you for the compliment.”
“For now your name will be Finis.”
“What does, for now, mean?”
“A god’s name depends on the current state of things. When you finish your job, and if you want, you’ll be able to change your name.”
“So the reason you said that I didn’t need to worry about anything wasn’t just because I’m not from this world.”
“That’s right. For now you can go ahead and check your status.”
“In that case, Status Open.”

“That made me dizzy.”
“The first time’s always like this.”
“That’s one strange status window. You added in all of my classmates’ skills here, didn’t you? You basically looked at their skill and tweaked them a bit, while also replacing some skills with their higher alternative. For example, «All Powerful» should be a better version of «Jack of All Trades».”
“Exactly. Though I did also leave out some negative skills that could get in the way.”
I honestly didn’t see how I would be able to keep track of everything.
But on second thought, I could probably manage it with a Demigod’s brain. Still, I didn’t feel like trying to understand all of the skills, so I just picked out those which seemed useful.
The first one I looked at was…
“In the Saint skill description, it says that the righteous Saint is protected by God. Are you protecting Yamabe, esteemed God?”
“Right now, you’re the only one I recognize as a Saint.”
“Then that means Yamabe’s Saint skill only makes her good at Healing Magic.”
“If you want, I can protect her too.”
“Either is fine with me. Pick the ones that suit your tastes better, esteemed God.”
Well, if I was the sum of the abilities of the heroes, then no matter what miracles happened, I would not be defeated by them.
Still, the Hero skill really did seem like an outrageous cheat. It could increase my status, albeit only for a limited time. Right now, Ichinari would probably only be able to increase his status by 1.5 for 3 minutes.
Looking at my outrageous status, I could somehow accept it since I was apparently the strongest in the world.
However, this led me to wonder, what would the maximum amount of stats be if I wasn’t? Would it be capped at 999 for each stat? I couldn’t stop wondering.
Something else that interested me was my Mana stat. Although I still had the Contract skill, it hadn’t reduced at all. It was by no means a bad thing, but I couldn’t stop thinking about the reason behind it.
“That’s because that skill of yours, Fi, had a bug attached to it.”
“It had a bug?”
“Well, not exactly a bug. It was just too powerful. When you came into this world, your status was adjusted based on your skills. You were changed to fit your skills. Although you basically had reached the Mana stat’s cap for a human, there needed to be a price to pay for using that power.”
“But I only had Contract and Translation…”
“That’s because there wasn’t anything else that you could get. And it’s not like you can just use a Skill on anyone despite having it. You’ve experienced that too, right?”
“Yeah… The Charm skill didn’t work on me.”
“That’s right. Normally there’s a resistance that is applied based on your status. However, your Contract skill will work no matter what. What’s more, that Skill will even work on Demigods.”
“Didn’t you say that Demigods are a higher being than humans?”
“They are. But it still works.”
“That’s one buggy skill.”
“That’s why your status was limited.”
I couldn’t help but wish that it could’ve worked more normally.
Though that didn’t matter anymore.
“Well then, it’s time to get you back into the world. I’ll contact you from time to time. It’s at times like this that the Saint skill can be quite useful.”
“I see. Also, what can I do so that I can act freely?”
“If you’re going to mix with the humans, then I think becoming an adventurer is a safe bet. Though, honestly, I’m not that familiar with the world’s common sense now. After all, I’m not the least interested in it anymore.”
“Am I going with these clothes? Also, please give me some money.”
“You can decide what to wear. When you have an idea of what you want, just let me know and I’ll send it to you. As for money, well, I guess that’s fine as well.”
“Thank you.”
“The world’s end is right around the corner, but you still have time to go around and enjoy it, so take it easy and relax while you do your work.”
“I will. For now, I’d like to know what’s going on in that kingdom.”
My first goal was to check what happened to my classmates.
Then, I would find out where the spirit of the kingdom was.
What I did with that information would then depend on how my classmates acted.
“Well then, have a safe trip.”
“I’m off.”
God bid me farewell while waving his hand, and once again, I descended into the world.
